Dear fellow stressed out n p'd off zed owners, Its been one of those days... 1stly me mrs called me late yesterday afternoon to tell me that the zorst off her pug has got ripped off. So in the p'sin rain i get under it, tie up the loose pipes n drive it home for her. Took today off work, took 4 hrs for Kwik fix to sort (not their fault this time), got home £200 lighter. Fair enough job done - sorted. Then I get a call...my gates belts are in...yippee. scoot over to pick em up, all ok....back to zed. Cleaned up engine bits n put em back inc new under drive pulley with over small keyway....sorted that!! Then when I started to get the new belts on I had t…

When my car is cold or just been sitting for a little while i get like a blowing sound. Happens when i accelarate :rant: Doesn't sound nice at all. anyone got any clues???

I have had my car drop into safety boost twice in the last couple of days. Now I have checked the ecu and got a code 34 response. What I want to know is: whether the ecu stores the code when the sensor is doing its job and sensing detonation, or is it that the sensor has a fault and in actual fact the car is running fine?. I hope that makes sense. There is no sound to imply that the engine is detting - its sounds nice and smooth with no rattling. Can someone clear up my confusion? Cheers.

...hi folks, quick question...a while ago my turbos popped big (and hg might i add), now its all fixed, runs ok, boost fine. after a few hardish boosts i start to get some blue smoke out the back, once this happens it does it on idle for a few mins and constantly when boosting, it is however getting less. if I leave the car for 5-10 mins, come back, start up, no smoke at all until i go for a drive...if i potter around, dont get any, soon as i boost i start getting smoke it mainly seems to come from driver side, but both turbos went big style and im assuming some oil went into the exhausts. could this blue smoke just be this oil burning off?

for the past few weeks i notice when i start my car the rpm goes to 3k and stays there , even after the revs drop. it came back to normal a few times but since yesterday its stuck at 3k. it doesnt seem to affect performance as i could feel the revs change even thought rpm stays at 3k... .my question is . is it the meter or do i have a problem lurking somewhere>>? :confused: thanks..

Saw a Black Zed at lights at end of Heigham Street today..at about 2-2.30pm today..... Didnt get a good look as i passed but i think you saw me... Had a strange numberplate on the rear-couldnt tell if it was a foreign one or a standard one with different font. Anybody on here?

I need to get some new tyres pretty soon, ive got toyos on at the mo, dont know what sizes ive got. What would you say the best type of tyres are?

These dont measure in Bar do they? CMHHG or something. Anybody know how to convert whatever they measure in to PSI and Bar?

has anyone fitted their carbon fibre dash vents, i has a go yesterday as it was nice and hot in the car but it's impossible to clip them in! my dad had a go and hes bigger than me but even he couldnt get more than one clip in. Anyone got any tips on fitting? Yas

I can't some to feel the turbo kick in like I did in my calibra turbo. It almost feels like I'm driving a normal NA car. Is that normal?

It ran fine just before i was about to go on holiday went round to my nans to say goodbye iam going to Egypt whent so i left it with the turbo timer on for three mins, when i came back out to the car and started it the revs where up and down then went to set off it started to splutter and then it wouldent go over 2500rpm like it had a limiter set at that rpm . Then when i got home it started and ran well then half way home it started doing it again :headvswal any help would be great thanks johnboy

Recently had replacement engine and turbos fitted and the garage are having problems getting it to run properly. They drive for say 20 miles and engines stall and wont restart. Having read previous threads on here I came to my own conclusion that its either the PTU or crank angle sensor... or both. I have told the garage what I think but they say that the ECU is showing no fault codes! They are now going to check the wiring loom for breakages. They are not zed specialists but had no problems taking the job on and claim that they have worked many "similar" engines. To me it seems odd that the engine check light is on and the car wont start and there is no fault code, what …

Sorry to post another query about my non-functional speedo on here but... It aint the speedo converter - it's either the auto box or the speedo itself so, If I (carefully) use a multimeter (think that's what they're called) on the speedo wire while moving, should it pick up the pulses from the auto box and thus diagnose whether I need a new sensor or speedo? Otherwise it's a 50/50 guess.

Any ideas who stocks them ? Cheers !
