Speed Limiter

I bought my Z yesterday, and didn’t do speed trials during the test drive, but did yesterday PM and today, it would appear that my import is restricted to 112ish. When I hit that speed, a soft beeping starts, with my foot still down the speed increases, but slowly to about 120ish but no more. Is this normal for an import?

The Speedo is in MPH to 180+ the paperwork that came with the car appears to indicate that a new dial was fitted (zcentre), and the car was changed from KM/H to MPH by fitting a converter from zcentre.

What options exist to me to remove the limiter and what will it cost/involve work wise?

Thanks

David

Imports are restricted to 112ish MPH. The Zcentre MPH convertor disables the limiter though, although I dont know much else about them.

Most zed's are delimited by changing the ECU Chip

(£50-£100, higher rpm limiter, speed limiter removed, better fuel and timing maps)

The beeping starts at around 65mph(105kph), and can be removed as per these instructions : http://www.aus300zx.com/tech/Alarm.htm
