Hi again guys,my zed seems to be bogging down at full throttle,if i only use half throttle it pulls like a train but if i use full throttle it stutters and pops from the exhaust,i thought maybe throttle position sensor as it also idles high at around 1200-1500rpm when warm thanks in advance Paul

Had to have mine replaced by SE ages ago but the reason I'm posting this...I did a search back through the old forum and noticed that the fan failing was quite common. My car is UK spec but beware on your Jap Imports, my old man bought a 2.4 HiLux Surf with only 45K miles on it and a few weeks after he got it it started overheating and spitting coolant out of the expansion tank. So he took it to his garage who pressure tested the system and said it was all OK. But it was still playing up. So off it went into Toyota who thought that the viscous fan was the problem, which it was. But, and here's the relevant bit, the fan coupling for the Jap cars only has fl…

Just about to buy some new seats for my Z as mine are on the way out, i remember from past threads that there are no sub-frames for the Z and that the universal ones don't work! i think i read that some people have modified there standard frames... has anyone got any pics etc? and do you get to keep some of the electrics? or if anyone has managed to get universal ones to work could you please let me know? cheers all!

i get a randomly occuring blue smoke that appears from under the car. I first i thought i had blown the engine and had a hole in the exhaust but on closer inspection i saw the odd drop of oil leaking onto the cat/exhaust causing the smoke. I guess this is from the gearbox (auto) Are there any seals above roughly where the cats are that could discintergrate and leak? cant get under the car as its too low and till i can arrange a pit or build some ramps im clueless lol hanks in advance guys

got these hks i belive today can they have fitting kit for replace resercs or are they hard pipe fit only.thanks :confused: :confused:

I discovered last week that the alignment or whatever on my zed was so bad the front tyres are really worn out on the inside edge. Rear tyres have uneven wear but will be ok for several months. So i was thinking once i get the tracking, alignment sorted for all wheels i will first fit a pair of Goodyear Eagles on the front. And a month after that fit another pair of Eagles to replace the existing Bridgestone X-grid tyres. Is it bad to change to new tyres half at a time?

But it blew as soon as I started the car. Recently put in a new sound system. Someone said this may be related. ????

Any idea how I can check to see why this light is not working? Also what is the CAS overheat warning light for?

I’m trying to obtain a pdf user manual for the Greddy Intelligent Informeter before I buy one. Also, does anyone have any personal experience with it, do all of the functions/sensors work with the Z? Thanks David

Went for a drive a few minutes ago and when I got over a certain speed (silly me didn't see exactly what speed but I think it was about 60ish) that bong bong noise started. You know, the noise it makes when you leave the lights on. Except no warning lights were on and the car felt fine. Any ideas? Thanks Al

i have a constant whirring noise evident at the rear of the car right by the back boxes.it runs continuously and as i am a new zed owner jus wondered if any 1 can shed sum light as to whether its ment to be like that or if its cause for concerm many thanx in advance

hi all, How in gods nme do they come off - the passenger one in particular! want to spray it - went to get it off earlier - undid the screws but they dont come fully out! :headvswal any ideas? Thanks

As title, car in pieces, but there are no holes in the disc to screw into and press against the hub. Walloped it, bent my weightlifing bar, lubricated it with my tears of frustration. Any ideas anyone??? Ta.

I founf that the Engine cont fuse was blown so I changed it. As soon as I turned my car on, it blew again. Does anyone know what could be causing this?? Thanks

Hey there I have checked all the info on where to look to tell you the year of the car and I still cant see a thing. Car is Black tt with the grey cloth interior, Jap import Auto, No airbags. If anyone can help me with finding out the year, that would be great. Thanks Guys

Hi, can someone please go have a look at their sub fan relay thats in the fuse box in the engine bay. I need to know the colour of it and part number written on the side so I can get a replacement one. Thanks all, Ed

Hi Guys I'm sure when I bought my car a few weeks ago there was a buzzer that sounded when I opened the door after leaving the lights on. I've had the ding, ding 60mph bell disconnected and now the lights on buzzer doesn't work. Am I imagining that I had a buzzer for the lights or are the two connected. Spencer

Hello, I'm going to start fine tuning and boosting a project 300ZX I'm put quite a few squid into already. Can anyone make a recommendation for the Berkshire sort of area. I'll be looking for trouble shooting some nagging issues in the beginning, then moving on to boosting up to around 18 -20 +psi (Already have the hardensteel in the lump, + all the engine management, uprated coolers and turbo's, paddle clutch, and loads of other stuff already ) I need to get Installed the 2nd half of the Bushing set I bought from good ole' Luke. Probably a new set of Teins ( mine look shot ) Probably need access to a rolling road, for the heavy boosting, advise me on…

Guys, My new NA idles at around 600-700rpm but does hunt a little. Does not stall mind but I sometimes feel like it's holding back a bit when I boot it. I also get a strong smell of petrol from the exhaust, not in car or under bonnet. I've yet to have a service mind so I'm assuming it might just be plugs etc...is there anything else I should look out for? There are no visible leaks either but how do I test for vaccum leaks? I'm no mechanic but am happy to do basic stuff. I managed to change my heater matrix on my old TT so I feel I know the cars a bit. Any advise would be great. Thanks Dom
