I have had to revert back to my standard 16" wheels since making a flatspot on my 18"s... Now after fitting new adjustable camber arms and tension rods, I have highlighted a warped disk problem, it's only slight - but a problem none the less. Heres my dlema! Do I replace the disks now with standard size disks but make them super duper drilled and groved ones so i am under no time pressure to get my 18" wheels refurbed. or Do I live with the problem while I get my wheels refurbed and buy a bigger brake kit after? ps... Didn't someone here get ceramic disks recently? were they standard sized or monster disks?

Spotted a red zed parked in Lincoln late last night (Saturday). It was parked in a small car park near the University. Spotted it while passing it in our works van, then went the same way later and it had gone. We were on the way for a 'Bunny-Run' in the city centre ;) :duffer:

Hi guys, How does a detonator sensor work? I cant find any detailed information about it. All I can find in the 300zx manual (cd) is a small paragraph on knock sensors. Is a knock sensor and dett sensor the same thing? What is the dett sensor actually sensing? Is it heat or knocking? Also, how much is it to buy a new sensor?

Right, I have noticed lately that when I'm out and about the cars idle speed sometimes sits at around 1500 rpm when I take my foot off the gas, and other times sits just below 1000rpm which is about right, its a swb tt. I'm thinking its maybe related to an idle speed sensor or something, but I'm probably way off. If it is that can it be cleaned or does it need to be changed, and where can I find it in the engine bay? Any suggestions?

Hey everyone. I've been doing alot of reading about 300ZX's and alot of people say that they have overheating problems. Naturally I've read the FAQ's and so on. One mechanic I talked to said they dont overheat too much but are a pain in the ass to work on because of lack of room etc. I was just wondering what you have experienced in your cars? Are they hard to work on? Have you overheated? The cars are reasonably cheap here (australia) and thats because of the image of them being overheating/hard to work on pains. . .any advice or help you can offer would be most helpfull.

I recently swap a na for a tt. I was having issue starting the engine (Injectors were clogged) I've fix that I started it this afternoon, engine seems to work fine. but this is my first turbo car and i just want to know if boost is normal... on idle i have 20 psi of vacuum, I can't put the car in gear already so I rev the engine on neutral like 4000 rpm and only get 0 psi on stock turbo is this normal? will i get more boost when a gear is engage?

One of my coil packs has a zip tie holding the connector onto the top of it. I removed the zip tie to see what would happen and it stopped firing on that cylinder. On closer inspection the clip that holds the power wires onto the top of that coil pack has broken off. The clip appears to be part of the connector on the end of the wire not the coil pack. What i want to know is can this wire easily be changed by removing the throttle body cover and unpluggiing it? If so anyone got a spare one? Put another zip tie on for now and cylinder is firing again!

Noticed earlier that I had smoke coming from my left zorst. I've had the ConZult hooked up to it and I have a code 33 'O2 Sensor (left side) The O2 Sensor is open or shorted (abnormally high or low voltage is registered)' The readout on ConZult is totally steady for the left and moving up and down for the right side, would a faulty sensor cause excessive smoke coming from the zorts? Also how would I check the sensor, is it a case of putting a multimeter on ohms and see what the reading is from the connector? All help appreciated.

Hey Some of you might know, but my car is running on 5 still. I was under the impression that it may be the coil pack, so after checking all the plugs and finding only one that was obviously not arcing I changed the coil and crossed everything. It didn't work. The coil was not at fault. Running out of ideas now, but I am just about to do the most simple and change the sparkplug incase its that, but I have some questions. So my questions are: Could it really be something that simple? Is there any way to check for a spark? i.e. Remove the coil and plug and spark it against something. Is there any way to check the plug connection to the top …
