On average what MPG are you getting. I have searched the forum and found interesting info, but want to confirm. I am interested in the economy of the Twin Turbo.... How far will £20 get you? How much is a full tank? How many miles do you get from a full tank? Thanks

HI all, my mrs owns an mx5 that recently went into a garage due to overheating problems. They diagnosed it as a head gasket problem and swapped it under warranty. Since then the car has started smoking heavily when started and is using a fair amount of oil. Its been back to the guys and they have said the following: Sell it (not very helpful!) as their is pressure building in the engine? (nice and vague!) It has a rumbly bottom end? Maybe Distorted piston rings? Am i right in saying they should have noticed the piston rings while the head was off? Im guessing mx5 1.6 blocks arnt hugely expensive but its been a nice car until recently. …

car (NA) has been suffering from hesitation lately so have been going through the big z checklist but one thing im wondering about and wanted to see if it makes sense before spending out occasionally when i turn the key the car would light up as normal and then die before starting, kinda like if the battery was flat but moving the cables on the battery would kick it into life again, and it would start fine, my old battery was pretty old and the connectors didnt fit brilliantly and had a fair bit of play in them, i thought this was causing the miss-starts i replaced the battery for a new better fitting one and cleaned the connectors a few weeks ago and the hesita…

Team, Had my aircon re-gassed at Ztech when they did my tubs and gearbox....... Anyway........ Was working perfectly before and after but has since developed a leak and lost all the refrigerant. My ass is roasting in the car now :mad: My 1995 workshop manual says it is R134a refrigerant but my car is a 1992 JDM Twin turbo with a little sticker near the VIN plate that says R12. So.......... Hello People! Some may remember that I had a large amount of trouble with my new zed from the moment I bought it in October! Guess what it still doesn't go properly :cry: I have had the engine gearbox and turbos from a different car put in and hundreds of pounds worth of other work done but it still aint right damn it! Hi Peeps im still in Canada and ive been thinking while ive been here about sorting out my heads. Does anybody know of a good company who could port and polish and multi lap my valves? Im doing a rebuild when i get back so im just gauging the total cost. So if any one could give me some idea of cost and a reputable company preferbly oop north it would be appreciated. Thanks Steve. Have had the air con regassed recently. When I use the aircon on the windscreen it is nice and cold, however when i press auto it just belts out hot air through the vents. Any ideas, sensor problem perhaps?

My front discs are a little warped and need new ones, so I'm looking at getting a set of drilled and grooved jobbies, its a 93 swb tt, now I'm lead to believe they're 280mm but need someone to confirm this before I go get new ones, I tried on some spare discs I have lying around that were from my Skyline R33 GTS-t, I thought they were the same size but the Skyline discs are slightly smaller, d'oh! Anyone?

Hey guys, in need of a bit of help here as this is taking the piss a bit now. Tonight my passenger side turbo died for the 4th and im fed up. what can cause a turbo on that side to constant keep dieing? Symptoms are, fit a nice healthy turbo, within 50-70 miles, I get a very nasty clunking from that side and I loose all boost and after I can boost past 0psi at all! :( Then check the turbo out, and ive got 2-3mm of play in the shaft! The last one I fitted was 2 days ago, checked the oil lines to it were free and not clogged and alls good. Makes boost fine for the 1st 25-30 miles or so, then all of a sudden it just gives :( Getting tired of fittin…

have the dash out in car the back of the speedo clock touched some metal and the clocks went off just battery light on as if alt u/s does it have a fuse in the clocks or in the fuse box i need to replace???

just trying to fit my turbo timer and it says i need to connect the brown wire from the turbo timer to the hand brake switch. As Bigmo says it's only activated when the handbrake's on, but where is the handbrake switch?

Which turbo is fitted to the Zed...is it a T25?

Whats the best way to test your clutch for slipping? I put my handbrake on and then in 1st gear tried to pull away. The car pull away fine with no unusal revs to indicate any slip. However, I could smell my clutch afterwards. Is this normal?

Finnaly Charging Battery Up After A Long Time ,my Car Has Not Being Started For About 6 Mounths Due To The Fact I Have Been Working On Her, She Was Running Fine Before I Started Work ,rear Mods Bodywork Ect Tank Of, Any How Is There A Routine Thing I Should Do Or Shall I Just Fire Her Up And Let Her Get To Working Temp On Tick Over? Hi all, Has anyone used t-cut over the whole car? I was under the impression that it was just for swirl marks or light scratchs, but im told it can be used all over like a polish to bring it back to shine? Has anyone done this? Thanks

the wonders of buying a new car eh, something else that is driving me nuts. there is a slight electrical fault with it. Problem #1 the clock on the dash, most of the time it works, some times its really dim, and some times it does not work at all.I have checked the wires on the clock, and all seem ok, so im guessing it is a problem with the earth? - see question 2, as they may well be linked. 1990 300zx Auto (import) guys, was driving into work today, and after going over 30mph the back starts to squeal, 1st from one side, and then the other. its sounds very likely like work braks rubbing when the brakes arent in use, but if i brake sudenly, the noise doesnt change, so I am fairly unsure that it is that, my next guess was the steering, again no change in noise and pitch. will put her up on the ramps tonight to try and find the problem, but does anyone have any ideas of what it could be before i jump under the car?

Decided to replace them both with GATES Belts (1 is a gates but gonna replace it to be sure).
