Very annoying problem... I had to jumpstart my old prelude on the weekend several times using the 300zx. Since then my stereo doesn't work, my clock is very faint and "shimmering" and most irritatingly my air con turns itself off and resets to 25 degrees ( i have remote start and like to start the car so the air con makes it nice and cool by the time I get there....now its just freaking hot) Why? Why? WHY? :cry:

ok went for a drive and got back home washed the car etc went to move it and a horrible noise (grinding noise) come from the engine end.so turned it off and then started it again and it was very load. so turned off and had a look and couldnt see anything so started it again and it wouldnt start i.e turn key and it was dead.so thinking stater i put car in gear and moved back and forward and you could hear it ,took it out of gear and no noise in ,put it back in gear then put clutch down and noise went.got in it again and it started so quickly moved it in the garage . do you think its the starter totely buggerd or somethng else

Hello, Previously I didnt know what engine knocking sounded like. I feel its good to know so you know what to look for. Please help me....I've located a 300zx TT auto. 63K miles, 1993 model 2+2 is pearl white. Right now that's outta the way, have a problem... The wife is pregnant and therefore I'm selling my Kawasaki, in favour of a zed. The question that I need answering, is there a baby seat that fits a 300zx 2+2? I suspect that there are some parents out there who might be able to point me in the correct direction...well...hoping is a better description.... :headvswal Thanks. Paul

Dont usually lock my car with the key but tried to last night and found the drives lock jammed solid and passenger one really stiff, taken a look inside today and everything is still attached as it should be, had a good spray around with WD40, all the nylon joints seem to be fine. Car locks up fine via remote, and if sat in the car it locks from the interior switch, just not from the door lock, any ideas as its hard to see properly inside the doors. Iv downloaded some music videos which i wanna be able to play on my Alpine DVD player How do i go about burning these so that the format is correct for my DVD player to play it The manual says it has the following features: plays windows media dvds (audio + video) Video cd (audio + video) As the car is at the bodyshop so i cant really test it but would i need to convert it into anything or can i simply just do a straight burn on to a cd and let it be a video cd and be played as that Any suggestions or help will be great and if any converting does need to be done then the relevant software would also be helpful if you can assist Chee…

Burst a hose and the AA man (once the hose was patched) checked coolant pressure which was only reaching 5-6psi (what is normal running pressure?)and then the blue water check showed that somewhere inside there is a gases leak. I suspect this is the head gasket which has probably cooked (thanks to a slow reacting gauge - must get some decent dials!) but any advice from you Zed heads to pass onto the mechanic would be very much appreciated. Its a 1990 Jap import TT manual - please help me fix my baby!

must be the season for it.after fixing my intake leak i hoped that would be the cause of my missfire sadly not.think ive looked at all the obvious now swapped plug and coil got voltage at injector plug and coil plug.got voltage at the connector on top of the ptu but havnt checked the bottom am i missing something obvious gettin a bit worried now any help much appreciated oh done ecu check no errors

I think im paranoid but thought id better check. I am getting ECU error code 34 and I get safety boost when engine gets warm, so pretty sure I have a faulty dett sensor. However, I have not ruled out the possability that my car could be detting but I dont think it is. I can hear a swirling sound on idle, but I think it is just the belts. I get no rattling sounds on load or during hard acceleration. What do you think?

Hi all, I hooked up the datascan to our N/A Zed the other day to reset the ECU (pick up was crap due to a previous hole in the exhaust, now fixed). Whilst watching the pretty gauges, I noticed the O2 sensor gauge was a bit inactive. I added in the other side and the "O2 Sensor Right Hand" flicks back and forth as you would expect. However the "O2 Sensor" (presumably left hand) seems to get stuck. Occasionally it flickers into life but it never gets as far round and often sits on 0 or 1. Also the "A/F" register at the bottom shows "Lean" instead of alternating between Lean and Rich. Is this likely to be a failed lambda sensor or possibly a wiring problem…

Hello all, sorry to jump in like this - but I am an expat..... Bought a Z TT a couple of monhs ago and now have just noticed smoke from LHS exhaust when hot, not enough to help global warming but not a good look. I had a read of this on your tech article: Grey Smoke with light Blue on Full Temp - This is the Sign of the dreaded rear turbo seal failing, this can usually be attributed to wear of the engine or component failure, will need the seal replacing to regain full performance, new seal - 20 quid , cost of labour 650 quid : and that seems to be it...... As I have full power I assume it is a seal that is leaking not turbo failure...yet. So my questions are: …
