After driving home the other day when temperatures were hot pulled onto drive put auto box into park and it started beeping as if it was in reverse. After putting in reverse it fails to beep now and the box keeps dropping down instead of up even when revs are fairly low and does not seem to recognise overdrive. Other than that it seems fine so was wondering if maby blown some sensor in hot weather or something. Any ideas chaps will be much appreciated. Thanks EVO.

My Zed has always idled a bit lumpy since buying it a couple of months ago but drives fine. I decided to look under the bonnet today and have a fiddle. I noticed the rubber cap on my temp sensor has wittled away so I wiggled the wire whilst the engine was running. I noticed the idle appeared to smooth out and also my front fan came on for the first time ever. My question is, my temp gauge has always been spot on and I've never noticed the aux fan come on before. Is the fan coming on because the sensor is now correct or because the car does not know what temp it is? Is it the temp sensor? The yellow one on the left? Cheers Dom

The back rest wont tilt forwards or backwards. Checked voltages and getting 12v going across the switch. So thats saying that the motor is fine. Guessing that the mechanism is jammed but cant see anything to why? Anyone had this problem before? All others work fine.

When I turn the key and she starts up, after about 3 seconds I get a whining/squeeling noise. After about 5 mins it goes, but on reving up it still whines a bit. Checked alternator and its not that. If you look at the engine, on the left theres something driven by an auxilery belt. Think it may be that but what is it????? Its deffinately linked to engine revs. Its just really embarrassing when I start her up, lol. Once shes warm it doesnt do it on start up.

I've jus' bought a 1993 non turbo auto ZX. It's fine except when I reach 40(ish) MPH there is a grinding/grating vibration that can be felt right through the seats. It lessens as the speed is increased but returns as it reaches the 40 MPH zone again. I've changed the wheels and it's still there. Any ideas folks?

I was planning on taking the z to jae tomorrow but not any more! It went in for a clutch and other bits on monday and i just got it back. Had full power before it went but clutch would slip above 5000rpm. Clutch works fine but i have no power at all! Coolant temp is normal, no smoke etc, it just wont go above 4000rpm, drives ok below that but the power is low. Its still making full boost and doesnt feel like its misfiring. Drives ok up to 3000rpm, i switched it to high boost and floored it in 3rd, it climbed to 3700 slower than usual then stopped firing on all cylinders, head about hit the windscreen. Tried to accelerate above 4000rpm slowly and progressivly and its just …

Well my car has gone in for some bigger discs yesterday and was due to pick the car up today but my mechanic says when he presses the brake pedal it goes striaght to the floor!!!! He's tried bleeding the brakes but not much is happening... He thinks the Brake master cylinder as probably gone or got a problem with it i.e the seals or something have seized in vaccume or need turning the other way... Gotta wait till monday now to find out if it can be fixed... It was working when I took it in there!!! Any idea on here I could throgh at him would be much appreciated or if anyone has got a spare brake master cylinder floating around I can pruchase off them!!!

Hi everyone, I've had my Z for mearly 3 months now and I love everything about her except for the REALLY harsh ride. I know when a car is lowered on aftermarket suspension you should expect a harsher ride but when I say harsh I mean really harsh! It's harsh to the point that hitting a stone in the road nearly lifts the car off the road. I took the car to a mechanic guy I know and he had the car on the ramps and he said there are no problems with the suspension except for the fact that he said the setup was extremely stiff. The suspension is Tein coilovers although I've no idea which model etc. He told me the only way I can fix the ride is to completely replace t…

Dear All, Does anyone have a a standard boot spoiler with stoplight they want to sell as this one has had it. Brought the car in direct from Japan in 2003 with known history from new (1990) and apart from the exhaust the car is standard. We are considering selling as it has only done 45 miles over the last 2 years which seems a bit of a waste. Have never posted on this site before so would appreciate the correct protocol for advertising. Cheers,

I need my tracking sorted as it's really really out. But because I want new HICAS arms as well, with it all done together, it should be good. Question about 4 wheel alignment. If the tracking is really badly out, will HICAS try and compensate for it? My car when I start off driving has the wheel pointing offset to the center. After a few miles of +60kph, the HICAS light will come on and after another few mins, the steering wheel will return to the centre position. Bearing this in mind, when doing 2 wheel alignment, could this make the problem still worse if the rear wheels are on the piss to start off with because of HICAS? Also, is the problem entirely tra…
