General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Does anyone use a Blitz SBC-ID boost controller ?? I've just bought one and want to set it up to run at approx 1 bar. Don't suppose anyone could tell me all the settings they have set, if running approx 1 bar ?? I'd be very grateful :) :) Thanks

have placed a request with mjp but thought i would ask here as well, i need to get an idea or diagram showing what pipes there are running infront and above the front crossmember as i need to replace all the oil pipes as i have a major leak coming from one of them and my mechanic says he would rather replace them all while he is at it also the power steering pipes (also at front crossmember)need replaced as someone has used fuel line to bodge it along with bl**dy jublilee clips been told not to use car in the mean time which really jerks me off as i have waited four months to get the car on the road and i have only used it for two weeks.the only good thing so far is that …

Folks, Need all the help I can get. Recently had installed a Xenon kit purchased from Luke at the Zcentre. Fabulous piece of kit. All is working fine. However, now since my lights are bluish in colour, whenever I flick my headlamps, I still get the old bulbs come on thus I am guessing your headlamps are not Xenon when you install the kit or has there been a major oversight somewhere ? Also, my front bumper side lights are still the old fashioned bulbs and don't match at all with the Xenons. Where would I get some coloured bluish bulbs to match and does anyone know what fittement/name etc. I have a Jap spec TT. Cheers !

had a race with an 04 plate 911 turbo my zed kept up all the way as far as i know my car has just got an evc an been chipped running 14 psi of boost so what kind of power has the 911 turbo got then ???? how did my car keep up ??? what kind of power would a good zed produce at 14 psi ??? do think something else has been done cos i know that 911 turbo is quick , the geezer had the right hump though cos he couldnt lose me ha! ha!

Did any one take their pride and joy to Barmouth (Mid-Wales) today cos we saw a very tidy bright red Zed with std zorts; and a high rear spoiler with tidy rims ( multi-spoke). I think it was a late model poss L OR M reg. Then on the way home we saw a black Zed near Llan something or other; guess he was heading towards the coast. Big hairy bloke driving (no offence like !) lol :dance: Then if we don't get into Shrewsbury and we say onother one; White .....looked like bad news as it looked like it was being dropped of at a house from the back of a brake down truck ( top of the Mount in Shrewsbury) Bad luck chap ! :(

Hi Guys can anyone tell me what the conzult would show if my PTU was fooked? The problem is te car runs great one minute then missis like a pig the next and on more than 1 cylinder. Thanks Steve.

Finally got round to buying the 27mm i needed, anyway upon turning the engine over, I found that for a start, the lines on the belt don't line up properly on all 4 sprockets, if I line up the leftmost one, the rightmost one is about 5mm out. Anyway, I carried on turning it round till the mark on the crank pulley was at 0 on the plate. At this point, all the cam sprockets lined up right, with the dimples on the intake and cutouts on the exhaust. I assume this is correct and at TDC on cyl 1? My concern is that the lines on the belt are not even close to the same position, they lined up about half a turn on the crank before. Should the marks on the belt match the ma…

I was driving last nite on back roads when I went down a dip that had flooded, I did not have time to stop & the water went right up my bonnet causing the car to cut out (expected). I waited a bit 4 it 2 dry out a bit & then it started, but it is now really tappy, I was only 2 minutes from my house, so have not driven far. I was wondering could the water have mixed with oil as it the dreaded white stuff in the oil cap! :( I was thinkin of flushing it through to give it a good clean out. Any othe ideas please advise, thanks

'cos it was a nice day, i decided to take it off, and have a poke round godalming.. Saw a red Z 2+2 reg including OIL, and a grey import with aftermarket spoiler. Lived here for twenty years and never seen one!!! shame I was in the vectra not the zed, we could have had a rally! :bow:

Just spent hours cleaning my car for Sunday. It looks shit hot to look at, but when I took pictures of it, it looked pink! I can assure you in real life its not pink, but it just looks like it is!! Damn sunlight! This one does not look pink :)

I saw something on the net that might be cause for concern. 'When turning the engine by the crank there were no stiff spots'. When I turn mine there is, is this compression built up in the cylinder? Should I do this with the spark plugs out? What does it mean if there is stiff spots? Is the cylinder head warped? Paul

I've had many zeds in the past but for the 1st time I have just bought one with what looks like a mini ariel on the bumper. I've got no manual but I reckon is it's a visual parking aid. However when I try to raise it all i get is a mechanical sound but it stays down, much like a radio ariel that needs a new insert. Anyone know what it's called and how i can access the innards as there doesn't seem to be a locking/retention nut as there is with a radio ariel. Also, there is a parking distance sensor on the rear bumper but it is only one sensor and it's placed near the N/S corner of the bumper and it seems to only work at an angle of 45 degrees away from the car and not alo…

I notice that quite a few of the tuned zeds have their aircon removed. why not install some ducting pipes that would redirect ice cold air into the engine bay or around the intercoolers at the flick of a switch - is this possible?

Any ideas chaps?? came back to the zed after watching the travesty of Superman returns - tried flicking on headlights but noresponse - turning the switch on just gives me full beams. Check the fuse in the dreivers footwell and its blown. I replaced it twice but it blows immediately each time. So where do i go from here to get things sorted?
