Went out for a drive and no.1 cylinder burnt off all the oil and was dry. Did a dry compression test on the front 4 cylinders, couldnt be arsed to do that back ones. Not sure if I managed to get the tester tight enough as the metal shaft wasnt long enough, so had to do it up by twisting the rubber hose. Anyway, all the front 4 showed 135psi, which is a bit low isnt it? But atleast they are all consistant so maybe the rings are ok. Didnt do it wet, guess you need some thick oil? BTW, didnt have throttle opened when doing it??!?!?!

Hijacked another thread with this earlier but thought I'd put it seperately. Does anyone know what sort of price a car trailor would go for. Obviously it would have to take a low slung performance car (zed/rx7). Also any advice on what type I should look for, and is it possible to tow with a decent car or would I need a 4*4? Thanks Dave

Has anyone fitter one of these in their Zed? I reckon it would be well worthwhile. I've got one in the rx7 (seem to be standard upgrade for rx7 people to sort fueling ,etc). I absolutely swear by it. Its got everything on screen: intake air temp, coolant temp, inj duty, knock sensor, speed, the lot. IMO its much better than having millions of dials and screens everywhere blocking your view. In particular the a pillar pod which I find annoying. If you consider you spend £130 on a greddy/defi gauge times four (egi temp, boost, air temp, water temp) plus fitting and extra sensors it is just as much as the £500 odd squids for the apexi FC and a setup session.

im thinking of getting my suspension sorted, i was all set to get the KYB AGX/eibach combo, but im now thinking of getting some TEIN hieght adjustable shocks and springs. what i want to know is. 1) how much does the KYB/eibach combo lower the car 2) how much hassle are hieght adjustable shocks, ie: taking the wheels off measuring the hieght of each spring etc. 3) anyone recommend any of the above or tell me if there crap or recomend any other suspension. cheers si

  13. Hello Does any one know where the other end of this pipe attaches to? Its the red pipe in the pics. One end is attached to a T-piece and the other is just hanging there. It sucks in air when I rev the engine. Ive looked in all the service manuals but cant find any info. Thanks!

Well the lock isn't broken but the key mechanism is. i.e. I can't open or lock the door using my key. Anyways does anyone know of any mobile company who could come and fix it in the wolverhampton area. Or where would you usually get this problem fixed? My lock has been dodgy since I had the car. sometimes to lock it by turning clockwise I had to go a little anti-clockwise first. Also some of you may know I had an engineer who couldn't attach the toad alarm to my central locking since he couldn't fit a solenoid in the drivers door. So if you know of a company who could both fix the lock as well as attach my alarm to the central locking that would be most exc…

...Chomp the positive cable down a lil more then fit a 4guage cable extender then run 4gauge audio cable to the positive on the battery?? What happened was the clamp was too loose and broken so i cut it off and fitted a gold car audio but it was just a little too short so i couldn't clamp the battery in place and the cable comes out of the clamp as the battery is pulled right over to the left and moves slightly. Which means it just dies once in a while and i have to connect it back up which could be dangerous i guess. Haha on a Friday night in Norwich i was driving past riverside, loads people and cops everywhere as you could imagine being Friday night, it died …

Got a non-start situation on a 91(H) UK TT manual and a third party diagnosis suggests the "Crankshaft Position Sensor". Couple of questions... Where will I find this located on the engine? If a replacement is needed, is this a straightforward unbolt/bolt with a trolley jack DIY task? Where's best place to get one and what do they cost ? Thanks for your help, apprentice
