Has anyone ever removed the chrome trim forom their 309's? As my chrome is knackered and shows this weekend I was gonna remove it but am scared with what I'll be left with on wheel? Wondering whether I'll be able to clean up the alloy itself or just leave chrome trim on and grin and bear it

Had a scary experience last week; I was having a great drive through the peak district until my brakes did something weird. I had to brake for a junction but when I pressed the pedal, it went really hard and I couldn't stop the car. Luckily nothing was coming! I was pressing as hard as I could and the car was hardly slowing down. The strange thing is, the brakes were fine again afterwards and have been ever since. I wasn't really thrashing the car and I certainly wasn't working the brakes very hard so what could have happened? I had only just had new brake discs and pads fitted and they seemed to work well before the incident. I have read on here that the pisto…

Has anyone got any experience replacing the bush in the rear hub assy that the HICAS arms connect to? Also, any idea where they can be sourced from as all the bush kits I have seen have purely been for suspension components and not for the HICAS assembly. I'm not 100% sure if its a bush or a ball joint though... Thanks Gareth

  7. After many weeks of pondering; shall i sell the Zed; I went for a run in it last night and that's the best way to put the thought of selling right back :wack: from the wife 'you have to sell it' she bleets. What to do ?? I am going to take it to JAE next month and may just put a for sale sign on her and see what happens..... But then i will drive it home and i will be grinning like the ' Cheshire Cat' when i get home....and the whole thing will go full circle. It's not as if she costs me much; she(touch wood) has not let me down since we took her out in a storm on the way back from Wilts and flooded the induction system  . We have changed t…

What's this for? It's the one just in front of the fuel tank. I can't see it does any heat shielding or anything. Maybe a stone guard for the tank? Is it ok to junk it?

Sorry guys to bring subject up again, so have a drink or 3 on me :duffer: cheers! Hopefully now your all sutably intoxicated -ish i can hit you with my question: Do you think removing the cats and replacing them with down pipes with mini silencers as like the ones luke sells will reduce or illiminate turbo seals blowing, and will these still give a signifcant increase in power? Going for this option seems the most viable to me as i want to de-cat but am unsure as to totally de-cat due to the on going split decissions. Car is '91 J reg UK manual TT Turbos are stock second hand units so dont know true history of them but seem strong. cheers. carl

Just thought I would post to say hello really. I have sold my MR2 rev 3 a few months back due to an addition to the family (lack of seats) and since then I have been driving to and from work in a polo. I have always liked the style of the 300's and have now decided to set about buying one. However my knowledge on these cars is limited at its best. Obviously there is the LWB and SWB non turbo and turbo. Ideally I would of liked the turbo, but since my daily commute is 40 miles to and then 40 miles from work I think this rules out the TT. Granted 39 miles of the journey to work is motorway so maybe the TT performs reasonably well at a constant motorway speed? I have been …

I called out the air con regassing bloke today. He's a nice bloke and has worked on my cars in the past. Firstly we found that the 10A air con fuse had gone. simple, just swapped it with the fuse for the horn and we're away. He has got the car hooked up to his monitor and it is working nicely, got the air temp down to 8 degrees. Then he looks at the sub fan (in front of the normal rad) which should have kicked in by now to make sure the system doesn't get too pressurised and it's not working. After a bit of fiddling about we found that this does work when it is hard-wired, it seems that whatever circuits are supposed to tell it to come on are not working! …

Looking at quite a few Z pictures, lots og you have got metal air intake pipes with ncie silicon joining pipes I know that metal pipes would keep the air colder (ones that run from the intake along side the engine) but as its that near the engine, wont it get hot Who does these pipes and how much do they cost (someone is selling a whole kit with induction bit on ebay lol)
