When you put the AUTO button on and the AC comes on, is the electric fan spose to come on all the time or only when needed?

hi, got my MOT in two weeks, looking at the car think it will be ok, brakes good, lights all work no cracks etc, tyres ok, shocks ok, is there anything that a lot of people overlook but the zed commonly fails on?? fingers crossed, just want to be prepared!!! :(

I need a new battery for my TT. What is the ideal battery for it? where do I get one? how much does it cost? When can it be delivered? Answers on a postcard please.

Bloody remote fob arm/disarm doesnt work anymore - when alarm autoarms and goes off I cant disable it - cant enable it either - just have to wait for auto-arm. Pressing the * and lights button puts it in valet mode so I can get into car without it going off. Tried a 2nd Fob I found and it does the same!!! :( Do you think problem with the alarm or both keyfobs have a buggered arm/disarm button??? (Did notice it was getting harder to arm/disarm the bloody thing - pressing button harder and harder). Anyways, if I need a new keyfob anyone have one? Thanks

Well on my way home last night the bottom end started knocking its cock off under load. Can anyone whos had the same problem give me an idea on what they had done, ie if it was just replacement bearings or bottom end rebuild, and how much it cost. Would it be cheaper/easier to get a second hand engine? Cheers

on a 10J Rear im running 265's Can I goto 285's or larger so I get some wheelrim protection? The 265 protectors barely stick out pass the rim?

on the original 300 alloys, they have left and right marked on them. I have had some new tyres put on, but dont think the alloys have deen put on correctly. Which way do they go on, from inside the car do the left or right? thanks for any help

guys, got most of the stero work done now, and my only stump is the aerial. its a 2pin coak lead (jap standard i take it) I know noises were made that you can buy adaptors for it, but can someone point me in the right direction for me please? thanks in advance.

can anyone give a rough idea of what the rattle may be from my z32 tt cylinder head (the right hand one) maybe,its quiet at idle but as soon as the revs are increased it starts to rattle,looks as tho further inspection will definitly be in order, so just in case could anyone also give the correct sequence for undoing the cylinder head bolts,many thanks in advance :headvswal

I have baffles going on the centre box, never really had any probs till tonight , is it possible that the dodgy baffles can cause so much backpressure that it causes an almost massive loss in power, almost like a massive miss, when the exhaust is cold cause once the exhaust was heated up and the rattling stopped then the car ran normal?

a smithy big brake kit :dance: :dance: Hoping it will arrive before this weekend so i can get on and fit it on sat/sun. Ive never done any kind of brake work before, but smithys guide should help. Am i mad for attempting this on my driveway with normal kind of tools? Any "gottchas" people noticed from fitting the kit before? Can anyone tell me if the rear springs on the shock absorbers are still under compression once the unit has been taken off the car? I'm replacing my rear shocks at the moment but don't own a set of spring compressors. Obviously I don't want to undo the top nut only to have the spring fly through the garage roof, taking some part of my anatomy with it :wack: If its still under compression I'll take the old and new units to the local spanner monkey and get them to do it for me. Just done my diagnostics as i thought my blowers weren't working properly and i've hit this...an open circuit detected on the DEF Duct Sensor. WHat the hell is that?! Something to do with defrosting apparently! Please help, its all irish to me!! Rich oh and does anyone know if the blowers are supposed to push air through the front and side level vents or whether its only footwell and screen?!!

Sounds stupid. I feel that I should know but I havent needed to change a fuse up until now then bang I do. I know theres one under the bonnet but its my side lights that have gone and that one dosent seem to have a fuse for side lights? Thanks. :bow:

Hey guys, WHen u have the air con on or the heater on econ, is there a mode where the front and side vents should be blowing out air, cos all i'm gettin is the footwell and screen blowers working. Bit confused i can't remember whether it was like this on my old one, so i thought i'd ask you guys! Rich

remember last week I changed my oil pan because I had no oil pressure, everything looks fine so I reassembled everything. then I tried to check the oil level, the dipstick got stuck!!!! :eek: No kidding really stuck!!! It move like a 1/4" I'm about to remove the whole thing again.... :( Any Idea before I start.

right this weekend I am going to fit my uprated gearbox oil cooler(flushed out engine oil cooler!!) to my jap TT. have a couple of questions. 1. when i take the pipes off the existing cooler on the side of the rad how much more pipe do i need and whats the best way to join em. 2. do i need to block the outlets on the rad cooler? 3. does it matter which way round the new cooler sits? 4. Am i mad to attempt this at home? cheers
