Now do i top it up with coolant (whats the best sort) or do i mix the coolant in with the rad water via the radiator cap. Also what kinda fulid would you recommend for the steering jar on the left hand side of the engine looking at it? Once again a thousand thank yous!!!

Hi guys I hope someone can answer why i have started to get exhaust pops... I Have recently fitted some bovs but can they really be causing this to happen? It never used to do it before i fitted them, It sometimes does it when going from 4th - 5th gear when giving abit of stick but not red lining it. Also, Can it do any harm apart from blowing ear drums at the passers by lol? I didnt really find anything on here about this subject but searched the skyline forum and found quite alot of threads on this and found it is rather common for exhausts to pop at mid/high rev range without doing any harm, Just the fuel running slightly rich? If im honnest i quite like it but …

Hello guys Have been fitting a test box in the Zed over the weekend to see how well it would respond to audio system , air leaks/ vibration etc .. after pumping 6000 watt RMS through 2 of Lanzars flagship 15" subs i managed a whopping 157.3db mearsured using IASCA rules.. found a good few leaks, the stress of the sound pressure on the door glass is immense and will probably need another 150sq/ft of fat mat to stop further rattles The sub box : 7cu/ft (back seats out job) 1" MDF reinforced with steel angle bar and fibreglass with a competition slot port i want to hit 160db minimum for next year when i hope the car will be finished .. which means a new box d…

Any suggestions The problem, having just filled up with petrol Tescos 99ron I take Zed to the dual carriageway. Hit the carriagesay coming off roundabout in thrid gear and put foot down everything starts to pull then the engine coughts and the car nearly stalls. I recover it and try again. Same thing happens twice more (3 times in all) Then finally he flys and no problems whatsoever.

If you want a high horsepower car you should do some porting job. Here is few pictures showing before and after. This picture shows how the heads looks like before porting. The intake (top) and the exhaust (bottom) are full of carbon. Also the chambers are covered with lots of carbon and this is one reaso that can cause detonation. And the following two pictures shows porting job for the intake (top) only. I did some polishing of the chambers too but its not finished yet. And i still need to port the exhaust walls. In these pictures you can see the valve guides matched with the intake wallls (something that Nissan did not bother doing). The surface its a…

Probably something we will all need at some point and here are a few companies that I would recommend... 1) 3D Transmissions Excellent company for all your gearbox requirements, they have a set pricing for a strip and rebuild which I think is £169+ VAT for all sub 2,000cc gearboxes and £269+ VAT for over 2000cc, come very highly recommended to me... http://www.3d-transmissions.co.uk/ 2) Intelligent Tuning (taken from the 323 owners club with which were crying out for a competent gearbox rebuilding company and so far owners with 323's seem very pleased with their work...) Intelligent Tuning are proud to offer this forum offers on gearbox re…

When I was buying my car I remember someone saying that the front bumper was an after market jobby called 'impul'. Anyway I was taking some pictures earlier to check this because I was pretty sure that I had a standard tt bumper (mines an NA though!). Anyway then I happened to see the original auto trader picture again and what do I notice? The bumpers are actually different! Now I'll try to put the pics here but if not can you check my rides and confirm that the bumper on my car now is in fact a standard tt bumper. So thats weird if they changed the bumper on the car before they sold it to me. But the interior pics of the car are also different too. …

I have just bought a zed from forum user Derek aka Flying Machine. I have gt a few routine questions for you guys that I have already come across. 1. Temperature 1The car has a spa temperature gauge fitted and I am unsure how long I should leave the car heating up before starting my journey. 40-45C seems reasonable and obviously not ragging it until heated up more to 70-80C. 2. Temperature 2. What temperature is it safe to turn the ignition off after a journey. Just by taking it easy and coasting lots towards the end of the journey to push lots of air into the radiator manages to get it down to about 91C but if I leave it idling for 1 or 2 minutes at the end of …

Need an uprated rad, and after searching have decided on the Koyo. However, looking at a pic of it on zcentre's site, it looks roughly square, but the one in my car is very rectangular, about 700 x 400. Mines a '94 n/a. Are the series 1 and 2 rads different sizes? or does the Koyo rad fit in the same gap ok?

Getting some parts laser cut for engine mounts, manifold flanges etc in the next few weeks. You want an extra set done or are you planning on going your own way on it? Will save a little on the cost getting them done all at once.

Hi there. Just noticed my speedo is acting funny. Its got a mind of its own and happily sitd at 120 then 80 then 40 then 140 all in the space of about a minute? Not being a mechanic im not sure what the problem is, however the earth lead clamp on the batery aint to hot?? Could that be the case as the speedo worked alright last night but dodgy yesterday afternoon! Thanks again Guys.

I was driving up the M1 the other day and as I pulled into the inside lane the steering suddenly went to one side so I pulled over and had a look round and I couldn't see anything so I pulled off the road and my brother who was following me said he saw the nearside rear wheel wobbling. I grabbed the HICAS arm and it wobbled like mad where it goes into the rack. Would this be the inner ball joint broken or something else? Ivan
