right my z seems to be running fine but every now and again (few weeks) i would be giving it a little paced driving and it pulls like a train. say over a 7 mile journey mixed carrageway and normal roads. when i get home turn off. say i go out again (normal to paced driving) the cat light would flicker on and off up to being fully on! (still running fine pulling great etc.) this will then flicker then go off. ok keep driving comes on full stays on till i get home them when i pull up turn my lights off the cat light dims or goes off. if i turn the lights back on the cat light comes on. but its also controlled by the revs/throttle. its such a strange thing …

Ive just picked up the latest copy of japanese performance (march 07) and have read my way through to the Letters section, and i found this: "Valuable support, I feel i must write to you and tell you abouth the amazing support i recieved from two car clubs that i belong to, The SXOC and 300zx.co.uk . Last year i lost my wife in an horrific car accident on the A303, just outside salisbury, and in the months following, i recieved many hundreds of emails and support from members and non members from both clubs. This was followed up by a gift of 2000 pounds, which enabled me to cover the costs of my wife funeral and also put some in a trust fund for my kids. I man…

Hi there, hope you are well. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place/website where i can purchase a reconditioned front caliper from, please? My passenger side one goes click when i use the brakes, and squeals when braking lightly. The front shakes when braking hard around 60mph, so i think the disc is knackered too...again. Thanks for your time, Mr Pink

Going to look at at a 96 300zx today, am I right in thinking that these don't have the hydraulic hicas? Is there a check I can do to make sure it's working correctly? Have been on the 300zx.org site and got the ecu checklist and think I have aircon checklist too, does anyone have a link for the air con one to check I have the right one. Is there anything else, besides ecu, air con and hicas I can check without the conzult, barring basic mechanical tests like bearings, smokey tails pipes etc. Many thanks.

I found this on a forum in the U.S. Seeing as were looking for the same stuff ;) I thought this may be useful, I'm certainly going to look into it. Marc TT zed clutch uses a small booster on the inside of the engine bay with an ordinary master cyl outside. This one was $5 from a wrecker. Its off a p11 (1997 approx) Nissan Primera. Dont know if they have them in the US, but they are a small 4door front drive with sr18's and sr20 engines. They are the same bore size but due to a huge recessed firewall mount the resevoir separate. Instead of the booster vacuum hose poking thru, its now the reservoir hose. The hydraulic line pops thru just below it wit…

Just bought a bright and shiney set of chrome 18's which I will use as summer wheels and keep my deep-dish 17's for the winter.. They came with 225/35/18 tyres on 8J Rims.. not the widest rim I know but the look real good.. :p Question... what is the widest tyre I can fit on the rear.. bit of a culture shock when I compare them to my 265's Could I fit 245's..?? cheerz B. flikz

i have a datalog file and wondered if someone could take a quick look at it. i started at tickover for a bit then raised the revs to over 2k then held it there then let the revs drop to idle again. i just wondered if someone in the know with datascan log analyser could check to see if i have any problems. it just looks all pretty to me lol apart from i think i have a lazy left bank o2 sensor. edit file is too large to post on here if you are willing to help can i email it to you please :hyper:

I'm supposed to be fitting my Profec B EBC on Saturday, has anyone got a fitting guide? Yes I've done a search and yes I found a guide but...........not having lived around zeds for years I haven't got a clue what half the stuff is that it's going on about!!!!!!!! I'm not a complete dimwit when it comes to motors so I'm not scared to fit it myself unless it's recommended that a pro do it. Better still, is there anyone who would be willing to travel to Fareham to give me a hand? Please :hyper: :D I've got a warehouse to work in so it doesn't matter about the weather and there's as much tea and coffee as you can drink, I reckon I could even shout lunch and th…

Hi Folks, I have found a nice standard Zed that I am interested in but it has an Auto box fitted. I have obviously driven many Auto cars over the years but am just wondering how the old Zed goes with one fitted? Is the kickdown good on them? Can you hold the box down in the low numbers long enough when booting it? How about through twisty corners? Has anyone done the Nurburgring in one? Cheers for now Dave...

Took my car off for an MoT and it's failed on the emissions side of things. Namely the hydrocarbon, CO is fine sitting in at a nice 0.868. Anyone got any idea why my hydrocarbon would be so high? It's like 6410 and the max is 1200! :wack:

All, as a part of getting another zed i have to satisfy the missus with certain criteria. The one that is proving the hardest to prove is: can you get a baby seat into the back of a zed? if you can, has anyone got any pics so i can show her. In not then it looks like an evo is going to have a white wash on the practicality stakes cheers nick

My car has a noise that I can't put my finger on, its a running gear noise. When in a strait line I get a grumble, rumble, vibration that gets worse when I put right hand lock on the stearing wheel. Now I would call it wheel brg but for the fact that as soon as I put a slight bit of left lock on it goes, and i mean a very slight, I think its a wheel brg but wondered if anyone has come across this before. Cheers, Scrawni.
