just wanted to give a big thanks to wozzer!!! after all its not every day a mate lets you rag his Zed for a few hundred miles, to the point of blowing up the engine, then puttin you up in a hotel and feeding you alcohol for 24 hrs there after!!! forget the car of the month...... this bloke here is the member of the month!! i was just reading about another zed engine that has gone bang and it got me thinking about engine conversions..... Why hasnt any put an RB26 motor into a zed yet??? its nissans most bullet proof, and probably most tuneable engine, so surely its got to be favourate for a transplant into a zed. I know that its set up for a 4WD transmission, but there are a fair few GTR's that have been RWD converted? If anyone knows of anyone who has done/tried it, or of any reason why it cant be done feel free to enlighten me cheers in advance Nick

Driving the other night on the way home from work my car was fine, anyway later in my journey i put my foot down a bit and gave it a bit of a thrashing. when i parked up i heard a tapping noise coming from the engine, not sure where from. Its the second time its happened. On start up its fine give it a bit of a thrashing and i get a tapping noise. The oil level was checked a couple of weeks ago and was fine, im just worried its the bottom end. Any ideas please

Anyone's Z take a deeep intake of breath when taking the fuel cap off to fill up?!!....Mine does, and I've been meaning to ask if this was normal for a while now?!! Is there a breather pipe on the tank that might be blocked? It looks like I have an original cap, which seems to have breathe holes on it?? ( on the end of the threaded nozzle end which screws into the fuel filler pipe). I'm not sure if thats perhaps how it's supposed to breathe and that there's no breathe pipe? I could change the cap for one of my many get you home types in the garage, but wondered if the sucking in was normal?!! I'm going to nip out now after considering this and see if it does it…

as titled, I've heard mongoose systems on a few other cars but never on a 300zx tt, im in the middle of choosin a zorst for my car and i usually like the sound of mongoose systems but i would prefer a jap style muffler either side of the car instead of the standard looking mongoose system, anybody got a favourite sounding system? :confused:

Hi m8, I finally found the time to fit those brakes today - it was a pretty straight forward job with no major dramas apart from trying to figure out which way round the caliper brackets go :headvswal and modifying the back plates so they dont rub on the disk :headvswal :headvswal . Just need to get them bled properly now and all should be good. And before anyone says anything yes I know the wheels are manky :mac1:

Howdy Guys and Girls, Anyone know where to get a set of front pads and discs ASAP. Let my brother drive me car last week and when I got it back today the pads are totally worn and cutting into my discs. I was planning on doing a full upgrade come end of May but need some standard ones to get me there. Also need them by Wednesday (28 Feb) at the lastest as need to get the car to the garage to fit my new sound system and alarm on Thursday and Friday. I live in Newcastle (Northeast) and have struggled today to find any. Any ideas?

been asked if id allow the garage to take mine out and try in another members car to see if it cures his vibration problem, what do u guys think? car wont be driven or that just on the rollers

Just got it back with the new gearbox... my boost gauge works but the car seems slow... the turbos make a whining noise and it doesnt seem to boost properly.. ive got the jap auto tt with -7 - +7 on the boost gauge.. it boosts to around 6 but it doesnt seem to go anywhere if you get my drift.. theres no smoke under acceleration and no smoke on idle.. what is happening are my turbos fooked? if so how much would it cost for a new set? any ideas on this problem?

it started with a noise coming from the back of the engine about a week ago which i thought is the driver side turbo cos i haven't change it when i've changed the passenger side but tonight just half an hour ago come back from work jumped in the car ,the noise still there for about 5 min and then the car it won't move or it moves but realy slow ,i have tryed all gear still the same .what can it be? torque converter?

how much more bhp does chipping a nissan 300zx ive heard its the highest car u can chip with up to 80bhp any sites which give you a list of all the cars that can be chipped etc and the gains

Hi Stu Just been trying to PM you but it won't let me! I've got my engine in bits at the moment and was thinking of fitting some Wiseco pistons. I know you had problems with the circlip, but apart from that, how have you found them? Would you recommend them? Cheers Mike

Just to let you all know, I have just bought a Virtual Daylight H.I.D kit for my Z and its well smart, im well chuffed. My car's going to look Great when its finally finished. I got them from the Z Centre for £120 + Vat, not bad eh! :hyper:

I had to remove the middle section of my exhaust at the weekend so my mate could weld it where it had split. It is a blitz system as far as i know but i need some new gaskets for the re-fitting. Does anyone know where i can get some new gaskets please? Or can i get away with that gasket sealer paste? cheers ross

we have had a very large no of customers coming into us with O2 sensor failures in the last week or so (on Mercedes), all indications seem to point to a problem with Tesco's fuel (at least here in Kent) although this has not yet been confirmed. I have just been on the phone to Tradings Standards who confirm that they have had very large nos of complaints accross all manufacturers :eek: :eek: :eek: please be aware as I know many people use Tescos 99RON fuel!!!

Parked in Bristol at 9am on saturday morning and was gone for 1 hr... came back and saw some red stuff on the floor... I thought, hmm thats strange, only to find out that some w anchor had vandalised my car... :rant: :rant: They have scratched about 2 square inches of paint off my front wing with a penknife or something. So anyone got a passenger front wing in red (AG2) for sale - might be cheaper than a respray!

Somebody asked me about engraved zippo style lighters I can now offer these at £20.00 inc delivery these are available in brushed or polished chrome finish, they have a the "z" logo on one side and either your site name or real name or whatever on the other side. Hi all We all know about the zeds in Teen Agent and Timecop etc but tonight I spotted one in Point Break, so i paused the sky+ and fetched the digi cam lol (yes took pic of my tele) So for those who dont know and probably dont care lol it pops up for like 1 sec just after Keanu starts chasing the ex-presidents after his stake out at the bank, see pic ;) Yes i do have tooooo much time on my hands :D
