I moved out to Canada last year and finally I’ll be shipping the Z over this May. The ship lands in Halifax, a massive 3750Km from my home in Winnipeg. I put the Skyline on a train to get it across but I really want to do the drive in the Z. Some of the most scenic roads out there, I’ll be sharing the driving with a friend and hoping to cover the distance in 3-4 days. Reliability has never been a problem with my Z in the 8 years I’ve owned it, so I’m hoping for a trouble free run. Mechanically the car is excellent, I’ve put a huge amount into keeping this Z running like new. I’m a little concerned about electrical gremlins but I’ll be carrying a spare PTU, MA…

Right, I had a headlight bulb go out last week, so I decided to replace them both like you do, I was originally going to order up some H3C's, but decided to do the conversion jobbie with the H3 type as in the picture... I had drilled a small hole in the plate and countersunk it also to ensure a good contact before soldering an earthing wire to it, with a spade connector as the picture shows, I did this with both obviously. Then I fitted the modified bulbs and connected them up to the connector block, earth to earth and live to live. When I tested the lights, all were on, the side lights, dipped and main, but the main was only as bright as the dipped l…

I'm tightening up my split rim alloys where the nuts and bolts go through joining the outer section to the centre section. Can anyone tell me what torque setting I should be using to torque the nuts up so its bloody tight and won't come off again as I havent put any lock tight on either. Don't want to over-tighten them so they strip or damage the alloy in anyway. Hope someone can give a swift reply. Definately going to pay for a membership in a bit, this place is a fountain of knowledge. :mac1: Chris

First off I have to say to paul at SWZ that you did a admirable job ( just putting up with me today) on the conversion mate, I take my hat off to you( if i was the hat wearing type). Second, to the people who think autos are better , you are clearly deluded and need to go to see a psychiatrist to end your delusional behaviour, I picked my now manual Z up from SWZ today and find it hard to put into words how I feel but will try. When I started driving away I wasnt that impressed, it didnt feel sharper or quicker than before, I had fitted a EBC before taking it in and hadnt had a chance to set it up properly so decided to use the 150 mile trip on the way home to do t…

Hi folks, i would appreciate your help with this as i need to get the car in for a MOT. I new the fog light wasn't working as it was very rusty, so i bought a new one, it's the awful brachet type that hangs from the bumper. Anyway, wired up the new one, went to check it and it wasn't working, at this point i also noticed that the drivers side stop lamp/red driving light also wasn't working (not sure whether it was working prior to this). I have checked all the fuses i can find, under the bonnet and in the footwell, with no success. I have cleaned up the earth for the fog light, replaced suspect bulbs, checked the condition of the wiring in the boot, including th…

What is the best stuff to seal the headlights with when I put them back together? They seamed to be stuck with a grey silicone stuff rather than the black goo that are on the back lights. Anyone know what I should use? Ta, Graham.

I am looking for opinions here. I have as you may already know a red zed. I have just bought a vented Black bonnet and tailgate from Blackmagic and am thinking that it might look nice with the top of the car all black and the bottom red? Stella's car is nice with the black and white and I fancy the Black & Red would look just as nice. What do you think. Black and Red or keep it all Red? I dont want an all Black car though. Vini

Hey guys, I am a Canuck who's imported a Japanese-market right Hand Drive Z. I would really like a full pillar replacement with two or even three gauge pods flushed into it, like this: [imghttp://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/images/new%20picz%201342%20019.jpg[/img] Does anyone have one for sale? They are so bloody expensive new ($125 Canadian!) plus the cost of shipping makes it bloody insane for those of us RHD'ers in a LHD country! :hyper: Please help a lone RHD'er out! If it helps, I have dual British/Canadian citizenship, thanks to my mum being born on an RAF base and being an RAF engineer's kid ;)
