After the whole crap brake caliper incident i then found i needed new rear brake pads thought that'd be it. Took it to zworx for a check up and see why it was pulling slightly to the left and the inner side of the tyres were worn. Micky's found the reason why: Tie rods, suspension arms and bushes need replacing on the front and the hicas is faulty and steering permanently left on the back hence i went through a set of rear tyres in under 8 weeks :( *****cks, looking at the far side of 500 quid to sort that all out now :headvswal

going to have to have this done within a few weeks. i have been looking about and have been told that the best local garage for laser alignment charges £25 per adjustment!!! potentially thats 4 adjustments for the front alone! i haven't had a problem with the rear tyres etc but the front are scrubbing out the inside edge. my tension rods are shot so i have adjustable ones to go on. also getting upper links in a week. i can adjust the upper links myself to within the stock spec upper arms (caliper them and adjust the new ones to same figure is this acceptable?) but how can i get the tension rods close enough to drive on them? loads of questions to distract…

hi all, i currently have a skyline gts, and having seen some really nice 300zeds at a recent joint event, im interested in owning one. so one simple question, when buying a used zed what are the common problems and pits falls i should look for? do they have any water traps and potential rust problems? engine weak points or special service needs? ive spoken to one or tweo forum users on here before so thought id ask? oh and a rough idea of price for good unmolested ones would be an advantage as at present i know very little about these cars

Hi all, this is my first post so be gentle! I've just bought my first 300ZX (k reg), i found her gathering dust at the back of an old guys garden turned out to be his sons. Anyway he told me the gearbox (automatic)was leaking fluid and the the Turbo's need re-conned or renewed, this is not a problem as i was looking for something as a hobby to put back on the road. The car starts first turn of the key but struggled to get it home, had to rev like mad to get any forward motion and i dont think it got out of first, so it was a case of rev and coast. Luckily i only live just down the road otherwise i would have had it recovered. Anyway looking for help and advice on everythi…

Hi All, I think this is maybe my first post in here?? Anyway, I was looking into buying a 300TT a few weeks back but changed my mind for a TVR. Then I canged it again for an Intergrale and now I could doing full circle and looking for a 300ZX again. So what I will be after is of course a TT model as I want it as quick as possible so may as well go for turbo from the off? I also dont want a car any newer than 1992 so I can get my classic insurance cover. Not too bothered about colour but am not a fan of white cars unless they are Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts, but thats another story. So folks this thread is not a wanted advert as it first appears but more o…

Hi, apologies for the questions to follow, as I know they've been done to death, but would like a couple of definative answers if possible. I have tried to use geniune leather for my interior panels but cant seem to get it right ( stretching marks etc ) , so i'm trying another material. I have seen alcantara on ebay and such like, are these materials stretchy ( as such) to follow the contours of the panels and their odd shapes and if there are any other recommended materials to use.. thanks Mark

Hi guys, I used to have a 200sx and have insurance with a company called MCE who I found on the sxoc Anyway, i'm 22 with 1 years no claims so pretty young. I've just bought a 1992 300zx TT SWB slicktop import. I've been having quotes for around £1500 per year for just TPFT for an imported car as you all know its usually more expensive. MCE have been unbeleivable and given me an amazing quote to keep me as their customer. £1100 - FULLY COMP with a £350 excess. At my age and only 1 years no claims I think this is an incredible price. If you want a quote here is the number... MCE : 08709 09 09 96 (Dan is the guy that sorted mine o…

As above , thanks lads for checking the car over and doing the oil change . Saved me a mint compared to the quote from my local garage , plus J gave me his spare oil-pressure switch . They were reluctant to discuss payment for the work , but eventually had a drink out of it :p Highly reccomended , with the added bonus of some amusingly " colourful " language  Thanks for helping me out , chaps , I`ll certainly be back :D Brian
