Well after months and months of looking i have just purchased another Z, shes a UK, LWB, TT, Auto (but prob not for long!) black leather, In Black (the best colour) new tubs in 1995 although it doesn't say what they are on the receipt! so i may need some help on that later The bloke didn't know anything about her really, just had her for 7 months and now cant afford to run her! bodywork seems A1 and the engine runs fine with no tappet noise (95000 miles) and best of all she has the wide body kit!

Just got the old girl backon the road. Filled up with Sainsbury super unleaded and went for nice drive. Fine that day so of to work next day to show off the new paint job. All way there everything was fine. After work I decided to clean the car along with the engine. Only squirted the engine with hose but now it seems like it is permanently overfuelling. It runs fine on idle but all the way home I could not put foot right down as it spluttered and had real lack off power but if I back off a little it goes momenterily. Spent all day yesterday taking all connecters off and cleaning them and spark plugs but no joy. It is now 2 days later so would have thought if the wate…

The small square block that the dials connect to is fooked.. :( looks as if it has overheated and went "pop" (large bulge in the plastic housing) Is trhis a common issue ... ?? only been on car a month or so.. tried tapping the dials straight to 12v ... with no joy... the module must convert volage up (to ??V).. can replacements be sourced.. or does anyone know what voltage the dials run at..?? and i can try to source a converter.. cheers Brian (flikz)

started ripping the engine out yesterday. its a fair task! should get it out today. This is how the EGR should look (drivers side) This one is choked with carbon (drivers side) no wonder it runs like shit! i was thinking about ditching the EGR and the AIVs as my new de cat pipes dont have the tappings for the air injection. will this be ok?

About 10.30pm last night i heard shouting going on outside the house and went out to find some little prick and 2 of his chavved up mates trying to break the drivers window on my Z as well as em wrenching the mirror all the way back, to say i went a bit loopy was a understatement and went for em, little shits, luckily for them im a big bloke and not the fastest and all i managed to do was catch one of em round the head as he ran away. this really pisses me off and i waited up all night to see if the little cnuts came back ,which they didnt.I have decided that this is enough and am moving my car to a secure parking area which charges £50 a month for the privelege, if I eve…

Well I wish I'd taken more photo's but these'll give you an idea. I helped to restore Rat before I owned it, and when it came to me it looked like this, pretty bad I think you'll agree. This wasn't just dirt, it was stained and the first wash didn't even touch it.:- Since then it was really only cleaned with quite an aggressive chemical cleaner, and given a quick polish with Auto Glym Super Resin Polish, which did a good enough job at the time. However, the bonnet has always been pretty rough, to the point where it could almost have been mistaken for a satin finish! Anyhoo, I attacked it today with some G3 and some more SRP - it took a few passes but…

Update on the manual conversion, and a few extras that was done at the time. Managed to finally take the car out today, first time since fitting the manual gearbox, and it drives totally different!! Really pleased with it Also, while the gearbox was being done, I took the opportunity to replace the stoke manifolds with some tubular headers, and decat pies, and powerflow rear boxes. Now when the 'loud pedal is hit, it sounds like the gates of hell have been opened!!! Also performed another mod today, pic below

Well first time in 5 yrs Z failed its mot... On metal brake pipes so its not too bad for a 16yr old car..( the garage politly declined to do the job ) So decided to upgrade the flexi hoses to braided lines when i am on with it.. However did a search and seems like there was a problem with certain thread fitment and lack of retaining clips on goodridge hoses .. does anyone know if this has been sorted or can advise on a supplier who has correct fitting hoses for a 1990 jap import... ? Can't see any traders listing them...Cheers

Right after disconnecting the battery to clear the ECU. As soon as i reconnect it I get a CODE26, which is the boost pressure sensor. Now the techie info says "The boost pressure sensor is open or shorted(abnornally high or low voltage is registered) Check HARNESS AND CONNECTOR BOOST PRESSURE LEAKS BOOST PRESSURE SENSOR Now it cant be a boost leak as there has been no pressure put in the system due to the enginge not being started. SO that leave's the other two. Can anybody please point me in the direction of these two items to check and how to check/ repair them thanks graeme
