General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Having fitted Smithy's Braided fuel line kit, i've put all back together, replaced fuel pump fuse and fuel cap and the damn thing just won't start :headvswal just keeps turn over, obviously there's air in the system having replaced all the fuel lines but has anyone any idea how long i can expect to have to turn it over for before it starts again as i don't want to flatten the battery or burn out the starter motor..... Please help :(

finally got my keys to my new garage. its only rented but i can now keep my z away from twats at night and can work on it in the dry. there is enough room to get 3 cars in there :dance: :nana2: :hyper: i suppose i cant really call it a garage more a workshop LOL

Right after disconnecting the battery to clear the ECU. As soon as i reconnect it I get a CODE26, which is the boost pressure sensor. Now the techie info says "The boost pressure sensor is open or shorted(abnornally high or low voltage is registered) Check HARNESS AND CONNECTOR BOOST PRESSURE LEAKS BOOST PRESSURE SENSOR Now it cant be a boost leak as there has been no pressure put in the system due to the enginge not being started. SO that leave's the other two. Can anybody please point me in the direction of these two items to check and how to check/ repair them thanks graeme

I want to change the standard head unit in my Z for a Kenwood one. Can you get an adapter for this or if not does antone have a wiring diagram image for the iso plug on the z so i know what wires are what????

I have done a search but not realy found anything when accelerating engine runs fine, but when just holding steady speed engine becomes lumpy, any ideas please ? :confused:

hello guys and girls ive got about 2.5 grand to spend on some new tubbies , i have the border front mount allready from Kirbz , and am planning on some 555 nismos , just wanted to know the all round good performer for upgraded tubs , looking for about 400 rwbhp not much more than that at relatively low , relieable boost , i have an RPS street cluctch fitted and upgraded brakes so want to take it to the next level now ......no fighting please

Going to get my engine overhauled in the next few weeks. Planning on having all belts pumps etc changed, plus whatever needs doing to get it safely running a little extra power. At present it is a standard TT jap import. Somedays it runs sweet with perfect boost, other days it runs in safety boost??? Ecu will show 34 on some days and then 55 on other days without resetting it?? Basically can someone advise me of the best people around to intrust with a Z? not really looking for 400+bhp just a nice safe increase and a reliable engine. Cheers

Hi guys, I'm in the process of searching for either a apexi avcr or profec B spec II for my car. The zed already has the following mods... trust ik, blitz access computer (ecu), kakimoto cat back twin system, remote oil filter kit, ngk platinum plugs. What i'm not sure about is what to do with the ecu. Obviously with more boost it will need ajustments in the mapping. A guy on a thread (sorry not sure what his name was) was saying that my blitz access computer should be setup to allow more boost as they are generally quite aggressive anyway. So as long as the boost controller is setup properly and diagnostics run to show if the engine is running fine..…

Just need to know if there's any differences between the fan shroud/cover between a TT and N/A? Thanks Vijay

Hey Everyone, right i got a quick question. The last 2 weeks iv had my Z theres been no problem. But from Wednesday afternoon through the night when i first start the car up and drive off there is a squeaking noise, like a belt slipping. It lasts for around 20 seconds, sometimes less, then stops for the rest of the drive. Then yesturday it was fine and today going to collage and back it was fine, but then on the way home from Asda tonight it done it again for 10 or so seconds then stops. Also if i switch on the heaters it starts making the noise aswell, but doesnt seem to when its dry. However on Wednesday we had heavy rain. Yesturday/Today dry (and no noi…

Hi had my Z a month and would like to use it :duffer: car was running perfect then it ran a bit rough so cleaned the PTU ever since I cleaned it - it has failed to start at all. I have today got a PTU and a new temp sensor and the damn thing wont start at all still, it really tries to but wont quite any ideas every plug on the engine looks connected and I havent messed with anything apart form the old PTU cant understand why afterwards it wouldnt start at all wiggled things etc still no luck ta chris

Firstly I'd like to say that I'm not blaming Dipone for this at all as I know it came from his running car. Anywho, I bought his "JD" chipped auto ECU with the thought that it would be "plug and play" but on plugging it in the car wouldn't start, not even a little cough, nothing. :confused: When he had the unfortunate luck of crashing his car, is there anything that could've happened to the ECU? It's not something I could imagine happening, but you never know. Any thoughts?

Just a quick question.I have a 1990 na which has a new standard radiator which i believe all so cools the trans.is it still worth fitting an separate trans radiator or will a new standard rad do the job of cooling the trans on a na. thanks.

When the car comes out of hibernation soon i need to replace tension rod bushes........what is prefered option new OE or aftermarket items. Is there much diffrence in driveability! Also is it worth buying bigger injectors [555] i have jd chip profec b etc what do you guys/gals think,been looking at cars which are similar to mine in spec and noticed cars are running 555. cheers Dave
