Hi All, After my respray having been completed, I’m eager to get my front end covered with paint protection film, as my car will be no garage queen, it will be used a lot over the summer months. As far as I’m aware, PPF is CAD designed for each model of car - well for common cars anyway. The film is then printed in that shape to then be applied directly to the vehicle. For uncommon cars such as ours, I believe the companies cut the film to shape on your car. I will absolutely not have someone cutting a film on my paintwork! as I’m worried the process will nick the paint. Has anybody applied PPF to their cars and if so would there be a file saved with your supplie…

As you may have read, we had a small club stand at the Pageant of Motoring, held in the grounds of Sandringham, to celebrate Her Majesty's platinum jubilee yesterday.... Thanks to Craig and Gary for coming along; it was a real shame that Paul did not make it. We all missed you mate - you weren't the first and sadly you won't be the last... It just serves as a painful reminder to take care in the wet ? Despite that - and the weather - it was still a good show. Sandringham is a lovely venue, with so much more than the cars to see. That aside, here are a few car-related pics of the day.

  5. Had an message from Mark Dodd, owner of the GTR-Registry.com website to say that JDM production data has now been added to the existing information which includes UK/European, American, Canadian and Australian records. https://gtr-registry.com/en-fairlady-z-z32-japan.php Big thank you to Mark and ryzan (Australian owners' association) for undertaking this work to provide a complete worldwide production database to the Z32 community - well done chaps! Their announcement of the new resource is here: https://aus300zx.com/index.php?threads/complete-z32-production-data-now-available.339084/

While removing my boost pipes to get to my power steering pump i managed to split this rubber hose. It has a little wire brush in it and connects on to the boost pipe and near the throttle spring (pictured). Can you still buy these? Or can i just replace it with a new rubber hose? Sorry for the blurred pictures, i must of got some oil on my camera lens ?

I'm on the hunt for a TT clutch booster and pedal assembly for a manual conversion. I hadn't realised these were NLA so hoping someone here might be able to point me in the direction of one. I've already spoken to Paul over at Banzai Breakers but nothing available at the moment. TIA Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

Hey guys, I am regretfully selling my Z! I have it up on autotrader (2006 Silver Nissan 300 Twin Turbo Manual 3.0 for sale for £16,000 in TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE (autotrader.co.uk)) and it's been up there for a couple of weeks now but I've had no calls or real enquiries. Would you say I'm in the right price range? Any recommendations on where else to advertise it or how to sell it? Thanks!

Hi everyone I've been away from the 300zx scene for quite a while and trying to slowly get back into it. Where are the go-to stores now for parts, etc? I recall I used to use DTA and MJP but it looks like both have closed up now. Do we have any left in the UK / EU? Would be great to save on shipping and import fees if possible! And in the US is it now mainly Z1 and CZP? I'm looking to pull together parts for a manual conversion...?

  11. Currently up for auction in the US with bidding now at $30,000 with 6 days to run. The car was listed on BAT last year and went for $46,000. Be interesting to see how much the car sells for this time around. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1994-nissan-300zx-twin-turbo-11/

Hi everyone Does anyone know a good specialist in the north west, or north England? Where do you all take your cars for major work? For the last 10 year I've done everything myself, nothing major tho till now! Thanks for any help!

Hi, my late grandfather left me a 1991 300zx twin turbo - just wondering how much it is worth? He bought it new in 1991 all service history and original receipts still here, kept in an inside garage for its entire life. 89000 on the clock and extremely well looked after. Anyone any idea how much it’s worth?

Hi, CO2 and lambda fails and blue smoke! Engine full recon 12000 miles ago, turbos working perfectly, turbo gauges read ok! Lambda sensor or both at fault here I presume, but the blue smoke?? Turbos starting to go bad? 72000 miles on the clock.

  15. Hey all, I'm in the process of recommissioning the Zed (been sat on my drive through the winter), after a battery charge, she started up first thing - yay. A smell of petrol, nothing amiss up top - but looking underneath there was petrol dropping down big time on the nearside. Quickly shut the engine down, let the petrol all evaporate and tried again......no fuel leak this time - weird. Is it possible that something (fuel regulator) was a bit sticky and caused a problem - I'm clutching at straws here. A dozen starts later, lots of idling, the leak has not reappeared - great. I'd still like to know what caused it though... Any ideas.... A…

Does anyone know where I can source some smoked side repeaters from? With my last 300zx I seem to recall DTA stocking them but they don't seem to be operating anymore. I'm hoping I don't have to buy from the US....

  17. Another new product for the VG30DETT engine: V-band exhaust manifolds and downpipes to mount V-band turbine housings such as the latest G-series from Garrett. It is wonderful to see that companies are still prepared to invest considerable time and money to make new products for our cars (that also are designed from the outset to fit RHD cars). http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2651676/Polar-Engineering-Nissan-Z32-V-band-exhaust-manifolds.html

I collected my Zed from Jimmer yesterday, after my little auto-box failure.... I bought the box from Gray's Impul Zed from its new owner, Dipone (Thanks Trevor), got it delivered to Jim's and he duly fitted it for me. Plus I had a couple of little niggles fixed too... Some new anti-roll-bar links, plus a replacement windscreen washer motor , as my old one was leaking. Oh, and Jim also fitted my Z1 aluminium undertray as well. Thank you Jim - you're a star mate!! I also met Jim's neighbour from Infinity Exhausts - and have agreed a return trip next month, to get a nice new custom-built exhaust fitted.... I'll post more about that once it's been done ?

  19. Hey guys, Finally got my 300zx back on the road after some pretty extensive repairs and a respray! Since the MOT I've found that my front and side passenger indicators aren't working. They also don't work when the hazards are on so probably nothing to do with that. Any ideas what could cause this?

Hi everyone My sound speakers have suddenly stopped working, if you turn the volume up fully you can hear the radio/music, but very quiet on all speakers! Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello all I have joined to try and help a friend, he doesn't understand the Internet..so... he has 1987 300zx, the cooling fan and temperature gauge do not work, he has checked all fuses and connectors, if he bridges a plug at the bottom of the rad the fan will run flat out, if he puts the wire to ground from the temperature sensor in the v of the engine, still no joy, unfortunately he left the car ticking over and it boiled over. I hope this makes sense and I hope someone can help, Cheers Gary

  22. Started by Black-zed,

Hi guys, been looking at ways to decrease the brake pedal travel on the zed, this come from driving a modern car daily with far less pedal travel than the zed, so I end up nearly going through the windscreen the first few miles on Monday morning. The zed stops fine and has new brake fluid ( after getting the brake pipes replaced) I’ve seen the upgraded bmc banded around saying it has a larger piston to stock etc, do these actually make a difference? Or are there any other ways to decrease pedal travel?

I need a bit of help. The car is making a hissing noise like a lorry/bus dumping its air. Ive narrowed it down to a liquid dripping from an AC pipe where it goes into the firewall. It doesnt produce the liquid, therefore the noise, when I dont use the AC. Its not coolant as Ive checked that, its not oil as its a clear liquid and the car doesnt smell of oil. I suspect its condensation from the AC pipe. It then drips onto the hot manifold below and instantly evaporates making the hissing noise. I have never own a zed with working AC until this one, but Ive never heard it make this noise in the year I have owned it. Is this normal or should I be worried? Ive attached a pictu…

All back together and running on all 6. However as it got up to temperature it started to steam. (can't upload a video here). It's not oil. I suppose it could be coolant but in honesty I don't know what burnt coolant smells like. I've had the valve covers powder coated - could it be a shit finish they've applied and it's reacting badly to heat? For info the heads have not been touched. Edit: for clarity I've done 120k service, valve cover gaskets powder coated and refitted with new seals etc. Plenu coolant line bypass.

Hi Guys & Girls, The Porsche is up and running very nicely, so onto the 300. I am looking to refurb the front and rear subframes, the whole underside, brake lines, PS lines & Fuel lines. Big Job. Started by removing the rear bumper, looks like it has never been off before, then draining the petrol (still in the process). Took some underside pictures of the task in hand, it’s not bad mostly surface rust. I will be cutting all rust out and welding it my self, if I can build a complex Porsche engine and it hasn’t exploded after 300 miles, anything is worth a try.
