Does anyone have / use an outdoor car cover that they'd recommend? I have a Carcoon on order but it keeps getting delayed. Supposedly due to difficulties in sourcing materials. Meanwhile the weather is getting worse outside so thinking to get a cover in the interim. Thanks!

Hi, I'm having problems with the fuel pump ecu. Firstly I'm not great with electronics so sorry if something I say doesn't make sense :). The car was having trouble starting, wouldn't kick in until the throttle was pressed down and then it would catch. Plus some time back there had been a smell of hot wiring which went away. I decided to have a look at the ecu and found it running hot. Long story short there was a diode, d5 on the pcb running at 130C. Plus some of the mosfets looked a bit scorched. I took them out and tested them as best I could using youtube and found 1 okay, 1 seemed off all the time and 2 on all the time. I have bought a second hand ecu and I'm wa…

I’ve had to take the Cat section off the car to drill out some boned bolts. To do so I had to take it off the down pipes from the turbo and the bolts were very loose. Does anyone know the torque settings for these?

We have had some nice sunny autumn days this past couple of weeks - giving us the perfect excuse to get out in our Zeds for a nice drive..... ....So let's share our pictures in this thread. Hell, we could make it into a competition, although not for gain, just for a fun. Or maybe a bag of sweets for the winner LOL! Recent pictures only though, no digging out old ones ? I'll kick off with these, from last weekend.

And the next issue is as per post title.... I've just had the ECU back from having had a Nistune board supplied and installed, great, the car runs fine with one exception. The OEM boost gauge shows no activity at all, the vacuum hose is connected and unbroken, it looks like an electrical problem to me. Any ideas? Thanks - Andy

After timing belt and head gasket done the car will not run, starts easy but fades out over about a minute, very little throttle response. There is a timing issue, on full cas adjustment can only get 30'btdc. Fuel pressure good, tps set ok, spark ok on all, compression is ok but not great, hopefully improve once run in. Injectors seem to be firing ok. Conzult suggests it's rich and shows the timing out but no other faults. Im confident the timing belt is installed correctly. Not sure where to look next so any ideas would be appreciated.

Last Friday evening I drove to Hertfordshire from Folkestone. The last 30/40 minutes drive was not pleasant! The reason for this? I had to change my HIDs back to the original bulbs for MOT some time ago & did not get round to putting my HIDs back! It just made me realise how poor the original lights are. Going to pop my HIDs back in this weekend (not that I drive the Z in the dark very often)

Now the weather is turning the cars getting bedded down for the winter (until the sun comes out on a dry day and I can’t resist taking it for a spin!) What advice do people have for this? Im going to buy a trickle charger and plan on starting it up every few weeks. Will probably drive it out on the drive and then back in just to keep the tyres turning.

In case any of you have an older auto box and fancied refreshing, my autobox taken from my genuine 99spec is now available and listed for sale. PowerZed has confirmed the condition as being very good - clean externally and oil was a good colour. It shifts perfectly and has covered approx 155k km (approx 96k miles). I've listed it in the classified section here as well as on FB and ebay. Open to offers but would be collection only due to the weight. Thought I'd post up to highlight to anyone interested!

Hi all, My car is (hopefully) being converted to a manual this winter, along with a few extra bits. However Im really struggling to find all the bits I need. A couple of ebay sellers I have been in contact with are selling conversion kits for £2500. I messaged them to see what they would sell the kits to me minus the gearbox and propshaft (I have sourced these already) and one refused and the other said £1500. £1500 is a lot of money for a bunch of old rusted parts, so I went on Z1 to look at their conversion deal. Without the gearbox and what-not, theirs comes to $1400, already cheaper than the greedy ebay sellers over here as thats $1400 for brand new clean p…

Greetings gents.....have a question on my TT. anyone know what temp the ecu needs to see from the temp sensor before it will distribute the negative feed to open the boost solenoids? at 70 degrees (on diagnostic) I have no negative, checked a schematic and can see the negative joins both solenoids and a splices off to the ECU first stop is a continuity test in the morn unless one of you fine chaps tell me I need to see 80 degrees before the negative will be present........then il be looking at a dodgy temp sender or a thermostat sticking open. thanks in advance.

Hi all, I have a 1996 JDM TT Targa, it has become something of a restoration project now. The next step is to address any corrosion and a full respray. However I am torn between keeping the original pearl white, or going for a solid white. The solid white is definitely cheaper, easier to maintain and to me looks almost as good. Also I have been told it can be really difficult to match pearl white panels and get everything to blend in. I am also think of removing the late twin turbo spoiler and going for something more discrete or not have one at all. Your thoughts and any pictures would be really appreciated. Harry

Hey everyone. I registered for a session at this Spa-Asia event with my almost stock 31 years old TT for this Sunday, 09/18... Anyone else coming? I guess not but, asking anyway. ? I'm going there solo for now, not with a club or anything, and haven't seen any other 300ZX competing in the listing so i'll be amongst fine-tuned Supra's, Skyline's and stuff like that (huho). I know i stand no chance but i am doing it for fun, and this is an unique opportunity to ride on this legendary track... Oh, and i have no experience whatsoever. I was just born in a paddock on a pile of tires and have fuel running thru my veins. Two of my stepfathers were professional pilots so i k…

Hi all, so I have been chasing a problem for which seems like a long time now and starting to pull my hair out. car is a 1992 tt manual i have changed plugs, done compression test, rear main seal, all boost leaks sorted, cleaned all electrical connections, checked all coil packs, checked tps, cas, idle control. basically car runs fine but idles high like over 1300 rpm and I have no adjustment to lower the idle on idle control valve as it’s maxed out. car is smooth running but seems underpowered, boost is showing on guage and fine but there is. NO urgency when boosting drives like an n/a. once warmed up and b…

Hi all. So I’m now in the position that i need to replace my turbos as the seals have failed. I can’t afford a garage to do it, so I’m going to have ago myself. Has anyone done this themselves and can offer advice? Im planning on getting a second set of turbos and taking them to midland turbo to get rebuilt so they’re ready to go when I start. Any info appreciated! cheers
