Hi all I need some help, anyone got any contacts that could help fitting this part please??? Its my boyriends car & its a h reg, uk spec, automatic, we've got a replacement part for it already just need it fitting! O he's based in Hermitage, near chieveley services, right by Newbury. We've been told its easier to fit on a automatic than a manual is that right??? Its also been a non runner for about 2 months now, as my boyfriend is in the army & away on exercise, we tried to start it a few weeks ago but think the battery has lost charge. Is there anything we need to be careful of when running it again??? Thanx for your help Holly …

How does the valve timing solanoid system work? does it give more power or is it for emissions or sumthing else?? Is time for me to learn some more on the workings of the engine. So if anybody can help explain to me then i would appreiciate it. Thankyou

How can you tell if a tappet is any good or not??. I have some that are noisy and after taking them out, some move in and out and some are solid. which are they suppose to be please

Where actually is the IAA searched all these threads etc but as someone who is fairly new to working on the zed nothing actually says where and what the IAA is!?? Also the intake tubes to my throttle bodies are really hard to get off and advise on that too!?? Please help!

Just interested to know how much people are paying to insure their zed and their second car if they have one?

Hi guys just sorting out a few probs with the motor. Ive already searched on here but couldnt really find anything. My speedo is a bit tempremental as in it hardly ever works so i dont know how fast im going! lol. Every other dial works (rev counter, odometer still puts the kph on. etc) Just my speedo never does! How can i fix this? Thanks all.

Have you bought a 'cheap' ebay type oil sandwich plate and were the results ok? I personally bought a 25 quid ebay jobbie and the unoin supplied was too chunky to allow the seals to properly seat on the filter housing... it pissed my nice nice 5 litres of silkolene all over jimmers workshop floor :( !!

I am looking at buying a Z and have seen one for sale. I know its hard to judge from a photo but on the picture of it the panel in between the headlights looks like it is slightly higher than the bumper at the front edge, where it normally rests just below from what I've seen (this will be my first 300). The top edge looks level with the bonnet. Is that a sign of an accident or can it be adjusted. The panels all look fine apart from that. I'm having to travel 200 miles to see the car.

i can flat the car, do quick change gear and fine, in first second (& 3rd think) but if im changing gear quick and nail the accelarator, the clutch rides. if i dont drive it so hard, and take my time changing gear/accelarating, its fine. Does this need adjusting? or is it just on its way out?

Hi all, My engine is nearly complete ;) Ive been wondering what sort of power i will achieve, Ive had a few guesses from a few mates with modded cars but none of them are Zeds. Just tested a different MAF/AFM.. Started fine, let it warm up, revved fine.. Thought I would put some boost through it, the BOV'S blow of twice.. Then the engine just dies, engine warning light came on.. Now won't re-start.. Tried the original AFM back in.. Still won't start :rolleyes: When fitting a different AFM, does the battery need to be disconnected to reset the ECU? Any help/advice greatly appreciated. Thanks :(
