    Seen a few things but this even surprised us last week, the near side tension rod arm is two half's welded together, who, what and why is a puzzle as the zed has a recent new owner, but worse still the two half's where slightly longer than a standard one so that side of the car had around 20mm set back on that wheel?? a good used replacement rod sorted it and the set back out, had to re-track it but after that all was good ..... odd :confused: Jeff T

    Any one had problems with tein rear top mounts knocking over bumps .Mine are getting bad now just wondered if its a known problem with tein flex coilovers .Been on the car 4 years now thanks:)

    Well after the new Z decided to damage my ribcage last week I've (kind of) got my own back - although it's still going to cost me money.....:o I thought I'd have a go at removing the orange lenses inside the indicators this afternoon; for that clear look. I couldn't be asked to use a soldering iron, drill or hot screwdriver; I thought I'd just try and break it using a hammer and flat screwdriver. That orange dome is tougher than it looks - the first whack did nothing so I tried a bit harder.     Been wondering for a while now with the different size pistons! I have 88mm Wiseco pistons fitted to my block! Does anyone know or can work out what the litre of the engine would be??     OK.. anyone who has seen my other threads will know this is getting annoying now!! - Only owned the car a week and needed an new gearbox and overheated last night. Went out to the car this morning and it won't start at all - getting lights on the dash and I can here the Hicas adjusting but when you turn the key - NOTHING - doesn't even turnover!! I have tried resetting the imobilser still no joy. Anybody have any ideas!! (please don't say new starter motor or I am likely to shoot myself) Regards - Cyrus

    Hi Guys, Finally picked up my 1st Zed on Saturday and had a couple of problems. ('92 Auto Twin Turbo LWB Jap import with Silvia Engineering chip (330Bhp) and HKS Turbo Timer) In case it matters, the gearbox on this car has literally just been changed for a reconditioned unit by Jeff at Zedworld. I had been driving the car, stop start for most of the day but after a particularly spirited drive in the afternoon, I stopped at a petrol station to find light wisps of smoke coming from under the bonnet and into the cabin through around the air ducts (very light, but enough to worry me) and the car electrics were completely dead.     No, not reliability issues...... ......but real pain! I bought PhilP's blue ZX last Saturday, as one or 2 people know. Anyway last Sunday I was, amoung other things, installing a CD changer system in the boot. Whilst crouching in the back, removing the rear seat cushion, I heard a small crack.   17. Hey all, brand new member here, just picked up the car and haven't had the chance to do a formal introduction yet (I'll save it for the newbies section). Anyway, couldn't believe my eyes today when a purple 300ZX pulled up next to me at the traffic lights on the above roundabout around 1pm today. I'm assuming it was Paulzx as there aren't that many purple Z's about! Hello mate! Nice looking car - don't judge mine yet, it's looking a bit tatty as I've only owned it a week, but nothing a good bit of machine polishing, elbow grease and a ridiculous amount of cleaning products won't solve :D

Just got home from picking up my zed :) :) :) well pleased with it and big thanks to richard for a great ride out and test drive got stuck on the m25 for hour and half.. so at least i know it does not overheat... couple of small Q's Firstly the auto box had a rebuild last year.. if you hoof it proper hoof it in first it won't change up to 2nd just bounces off the limiter (only let it do that once).. lift off slightly and back on it changes up.. is this normal.. or what??? and slight drinding on front brakes but guess thats where its sat for a while.. will monitor also a small oil leak.. apparently had it for a long time and does not use hardly a…

  19. doing my head in now, bled it from the slave, and from the one by the drivers headlight. there is no air coming out, just oil, its not activating the clutch fork enough tho? got full pedal, but no resistance, just goes to the floor easy as hell, then comes back up. tips? suggestions?

    Hi all, had a misfire/rough running on my vehicle for ages and still cant clear it, basically it runs rich and uses loads of fuel and feels like theres a cly down or misfiring. this doesnt happen all the time but when it does it noticable. when its happening the revs sit where they should at the 850rpm area but when the engine is running smooth and fine the revs are at 1100rpm?? (why would the revs go higher?) this is what ive replaced and done and its made a little difference but not a lot. Replaced Both O2 sensors Temp Sensor + Plug Hot idle Valve One Coil Pack Checked/repaired All boost leaks cleaned throttle bodies Been set up by Z world …

    Today thought it would be high time to do a bit of maintenance. I've had 2 new o2 sensors and a new coolant temp sensor (ECU) sitting in the garage waiting to be fitted as well as 11B plugs. With help from Jimmer we replaced both O2 sensors (which came out quite easily), replaced the plugs with the cooler 11Bs, fitted a new coolant temp sensor and did an oil and filter change. Car idles so much better, throttle response seems to have improved. Turbos now spool up quicker too as I had a boost leak as well! Only a slight one, but was mildly audible. Exhaust is now staying much cleaner. One of my o2 sensors was completely shagged. But replaced both with genuin…

    I am a little concerned the two smaller rads on the car won't keep it cool enough, bothe have electric fans on. One is controlled by a manual switch and the other by the old electric fan switch so cuts in when very hot. I was thinking of fitting an electric pump I have into the cooling system to get the water flowing better and helping out the OE pump as the water system is bigger now. Any thoughts?

    I'm going to swap the doors on my '93 Black S2 UK for the ones on my grey '89 S1 JDM, as they are dent free. I'm not sure what the best way to do this is tho' ? The doors will obviously need painting black, and I also need to replace the wiring (folding mirrors and window are different) Do I strip the doors to just the skin and replace everything with the S2 internals? or mix and match? Is this best done on a bench or can it be done on the car? Both cars are on the drive and I don't want to leave them with a door missing. Finally, and most importantly, will the S1's fit ok?
