i have put a diferent clutch pedal in my car. prior to this the car worked fine, and the car the pedal came from worked fine. apart from the fact that you have to unbolt the clutch master cylinder to change the pedal i have not altered or adjusted anything else in the clutch system so now i have a problem. I have to push the pedal right to the floor in order to change gear. the biting point is right down at a fraction off the floor and some times even lower (ie sometimes the car still drives with the pedal hard on the floor and i strugle to get it out of gear) so having read a couple of guides, i deduce that in order move the biting point upwards, i need to…

Looking on the diftworks site and they seem to do some good package deals, but not specifically for the Z would this fit?? http://www.driftworks.com/catalog/products/driftworks-r32-gtr-suspension-arm-kit.html Or is there a better one one the list? http://www.driftworks.com/catalog/categories/suspension-adjustable-arms&osCsid=2a59ba82d40ebc691424a7f57278f224.html

The battery on my car seems to go flat if I don't use the car for a couple of days, or as was proved Sunday leave the ignition on for 20mins with nothing running. Had the battery checked, told it's fine, had the alternator checked, told that's fine to. Had a look at the connections on the starter motor and all the earth connections and they seem good so I'm now left scratching my head and thinking it's a power drain from something. Anyone else had this?

Well, I am about 10 hours into the polish now and that's the initial prep done - doing the grinding and shaping required to remove the castings and other unattractive features. My plenum casting was not very impressive to say the least - very pitted. And I have moved a lot of metal to get to where I am now. I estimate about another 8-10 hours at 120/200 grit wet and dry (hand and mouse) and then maybe 8-10 hours with the polishing wheels. So 30ish hours total. I am not going any parts that will not be seen - life is too short. :nono: I completed the balance bar in about 3 hours total - pics later. TOOLS: Most useful has b…

took my car to a recomended garage, seem to be crap. they coudnt bleed the clutch, but the worst is this.... im getting the car ready for MOT, coudnt find the windscreen washer pipe. looked everywhere, coudnt see it. i had the front bumper off already, traced the pipe from the washer water tank, i remvoved the wing, traced the pipe, it had been conencted to the balance bar! now correct me if im wrong, but water in the intake plenum/throttle body would have killed my engine! luckily i didnt have water in tank or squirt them

hi everyone! iv only had my 30zx a week or so so am a real newb when it comes to faults etc! basically i have a 1990 2+2 auto, the car drives fine when accelerating and has good power still and boosts up fine, but when i come to a stand still like at some lights or end of the road etc the car starts to idle badly as if she is going to stall on me :( now its an auto if that helps, but what would cause this?? especially as she drives fine, its just when at a stand still?? dan

Ok so im having a really hard time pin pointing some very annoying faults with the car: 1) At high speed and at high revs there is an electrical fault. For example, as i approach 60mph in 3rd gear the lights go really dim and all the electrics in the car flicker and pretty much cut out. But its only in this gear at this speed. :headvswal 2) Power steering cut out yesterday for about a quater of a mile. then has been fine since. :headvswal 3) The is a really serious sound noise coming from underneath the car, but it is tempramental. It sounds like a twig stuck in bike spokes, but its loud enough to be heard from several streets away (ive had people tell me t…

I have changed my brake booster today after suspecting it was leaking a little. My brakes have been overhauled recently, but they still seemed pretty crap TBH and I have read plenty on here about them been considered crap so thought that was that. I was lucky to get a spare brake booster with my manual conversion kit, so decided to whack it on (PITA, but DIYable!). Well there is definately a difference and now it is possible to lock the front wheels on a dry road and activate the ABS!!! They are a lot better and they are STOCK (fast road pads only). I would now describe them as good brakes as long as you don't cook them. Best of all, its really easy to check th…

How it was last week: Not the best design ever - but it certainly helps the lines on the rear of the car, which is something I was never happy with. No more spending for a while I hope. Mind you it's MOT time in the morning - the day before I go to Nurburg..........:eek:

Just been for a blast in the Zed to test the brakes, so I was doing a series of acceleration/ heavy braking blasts. All seemed spot on, but on the way back I just got the impression the car wasn't giving me full power, even though boost gauge shows full swing. Pulled on the drive, popped the bonnet to check my handy work, all looked good then all of a sudden the engine cut out. No hesitation, just like I had turned the ignition off. All the dash lights were on, tried to restart, no joy....code 21 recorded. Suspecting PTU... Any thoughts?? Only job I've done today is change the brake booster, I have checked all the vacuum lines/connections in that area, but sus…
