i know ive asked before but i have had no joy fixing the problems and i think ive explored almost every avenue now my car has a vibration at idle through the body of the car. the engine is very smooth now after sorting so may little issues but i dont think i should be aable to feel vibrations through the steering wheel or body. could this be my gearbox mount causing the problem? i am still to replace the spark plugs aswell but they looked fine when i checked them. also sometimes the car starts as soon as i turn the key, other times it takes a few seconds. it is not misfiring but there is a rythmical putting with the exhaust note ( perhapse 7 times p…

what do these valves do ? at what stage of engine load, do these opperate? trying to find a strange metalic sucking/ hissing noise, only get this at low speeds 20 _40 m p h in 2_ 3 or 4th gear when putting my foot down, done vacume test , ok , checked e g r & aiv valves seem ok, engine is realy running well boosts ok , just cant get my head round what wastegates do ? any advice please

Myself and joely poly had a great time today at bedford autodrome, think joely might have caught the bug today, im hoping he gets into it so i have someone else to go with or a regular :D the r888's made a big difference although they were quite fiddly to get the right pressure. I have the clear corners fitted, and I want to move the side light from the fogs, I take it the standard jap sidelight wont fit straight in and need to get some holders and splice into the existing wiring, what type of holders do I get and where from? Cheers

How do you remove the door glass? I've looked in the service manual and from what I can gather, it's held on by the two window stoppers? Would undoing these allow me to take the glass out? Cheers, as always Dave

hi all, after fixing my gear problem i was presented with 2 new ones today, when approaching work the revs were surging themselves giving me erratic kangaroo driving, only lasted around 5 mins then cleared? tps sensor or icv?... secondly on arriving home from work, when i got out car i noticed a water leak, appears to be coming from the bottom of the neck of the coolant plastic filler pipe?this pipe with the yellow cap appears to move/rotate slightly, only lost around 1 cupfull of rusty looking water..then it stopped? any ideas.. many thanks

The spoiler on my car needs to come off as I don't like it and it's on wonkey anyway. Need to get it off with out damaging it if possible as i have someone interested in buying it. Trouble is some fool has bonded it on so it's not going to be easy........... Anyone have any tips, advice ETC? I'm not too worried about the paint on the boot as I know it'll need respraying anyway, just don't want to damage the metal work.

Hello! I have some problems (again!). Same as I posted a month or so ago, still not got to the bottom of it. When the car is cold, it runs pretty badly. Judders a lot under steady acceleration, but idles okay. As an example, if I'm driving along at 20mph, the car is juddering like hell, and when I come to a halt, it's fine. Idles okay, doesn't even attempt to cut out. This happens all the time until the car is warm (temp gauge half way up). But, also doesn't happen for the first few minutes of driving. After the initial few minutes of a drive from cold it happens, not instant. I plugged it into Conzult last week and it threw up Error Code 13, coll…

Hi couple of things Do i have ABS, how do i check (apart from doing 100mph and standing on the brakes before you tell me!! What sort of options have i for doing something to the dash surround, not installing white dials, but the black plastic around it? Rich

just taking a look at the engine bay, the 2 tubes you insert the jets to (as per this guide) http://www2.zhome.com:81/ZCMnL/PICS/boostJets/boostJets.html where do they run from? i think i have 1 of the tubes plugged with a screw, as i think it went to the re-circs, but removed the recircs so just blocked it up. i think they need to go to the ones from each wastegate? same location each side?

I presume that if I remove the orange filter from my front indicators that I will then need to get some orange bulbs? Where can I get these from? Thanks, Phill

hi all, only just got the car today and all was well, ran my son home tonight and i think it seems to be stuck with only 3 gears? overdrive is switched off power button is off(middle position) sitting at 120kmph im at 4000 rpm feels like it needs another gear i have jap clocks all in kmph up to 180 even at that speed theres no difference when i put o/d on and off ive had v8 autos before and v6 autos and they all changed revs when i swithced between these modes? or maybe im just being paranoid lol all the lights for the above buttons all work when switches pushed what is the little orange stick thingy on the gear knob? i think its stuck i…

as i have now got my new wheels on (cruize 135s) it was time to get my current ones onto my dads (stonewall) Z.... however he had a rather nasty suprise when he took of 1 of he's front wheels :shock: rather lucky escape... and heres a pic of he's Z looking much better with some new shoes on Rich

Started a bit late today but between me, my dad and my bro we managed to get the engine in in less than 30 minutes but the mounting bracket for the gearbox was what caused all the problems, 5 mm off on one side so had to lengthen all the slot to accomodate and went through f*** knows how many grinding stones to get there :rofl: On to the interior next, just need to lengthen the throw of the gear lever and grind out a bit more of the floor to accomodate the throw of the lever but it's in finally after 7 months and jesus does it sit low in the body, the weight it right in line with the centre of the wheels so should handle brilliantly which is what i wanted :D Mor…

Well it's going to have the welding done on Tuesday, found a local Japanese car specialist round the corner from me that I never even knew existed until a mate told me about them. Not only does the owner drive a 300, he specialises in them so that's nice to know, it's only a 20 min WALK from my house to. Any way today some bits turned up, just some clear indicators and silver bulbs, so I fitted them and heated up the front units to pry the lens off and remove the orange inner lens (180deg for about 5 mins is enough) Had to splice and solder some wires, took about an hour all in I guess but I think it worth it. Hi ive got a Silver Twin Turbo Jap Import on a G reg, its Auto and its done 56000 miles. Its in good condition with cloth trim. Can someone advise me on how much to sell it for?
