Hi all can anyone help me? Im going to be dummy fitting the engine tonight to see how much clearence i have in fitting the actuators and pipe work! What is the best way to lift the engine using the engine hoist without damaging the engine? I can only see one engine hook at the rear of the engine should there be more?? Also could i lift the engine from the heads?? P,s i also have a engine leveller is it wise to use that? Thanks Dan

Right, desperately trying to re-fit the disabled cruise control. The CC was disabled by the previous owner who had fitted an after market steering wheel. Now, the control box and the wiring to that is there, the on/off switch is there. I have cruise control button pad which I am going to mount somewhere, but I can't for the life of me work out where the wiring for this to plug into should be? I've had a good rummage around under the column and there's only wiring going to 3 connectors, one for the ignition, one for the indicator stalk and another for the HICAS sensor. Does this connector for the HICAS sensor incorporate the wiring for the CC? Because I can't rea…

Ok, I'm not scared of spanner work, god knows I've done enough to the Volvo over the last 6 months, but I look under the zeds bonnet, and I see spaghetti-pipes-and-wires, and to be fair, I've chickened out of doing the PCV's on my own. :headvswal Have any of you cov lads done the pcvs yourself? would you be willing to come round mine, and help me do em? I've got a huge garage, so weather is not an issue, I've got a crap load of tools, and my fridge is always well stocked with stella, but other flavours of beer will be bought, if needed.... :duffer: I'd really appreciate it, and my garage would be available to the wonderful helpful person, for any…

I've done searches for the exact location of the injectors but cannot find a diagram. Am I right in thinking they are very close to the throttle plate cover, set down with two wires running to each? If so, someone has crimped rubbish terminals to the front four which are quite loose and the revs alter if they are moved! I've re-crimped the ones that seemed worst, will have to wait for the engine to cool a bit before the others. I think new connectors might be in order.

Sounds like a cam follower to me, it's a slow tapping sound which increases with the revs. Any ideas or is this quite common?

I am not sure that this is the best place for this especially as it is not strictly Zed related, but it will be of interest to Zed owners who have little or no knowledge of car mechanicals and workings. This site really explains very simply about engines and tuning, it explains what can be done and what cannot be done, the latter could save you a lot of money. See what you think, the guy is obviously very knowledgeable. Apologies if this has been posted before. http://www.tuning.wanadoo.co.uk/index.htm

Well my boost controller turned up today, but I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me the answers to the following: 1. What diameter tubing do I need to run from the turbo's/actuator and any ideas on how long a length I should get. 2. Where's the best place to take a manifold pressure reading from to plumb into the control unit? Pictures would be great ;) I know how to plum/wire into the TT system just don't want to go crawling around under the car to get tube diameters if I can help it lol. Cheers, Brendan

Is there any spray kind of corrosive tackle I can get, to clean the 'hard to get to' contacts, and rid them of the green doom, then wash off? I'm not scared of hard work, just thought there might be some easier way of doing it!

After taking the plunge and buying some 'uprated intercoolers' and not knowing what make they were... seems like its paid off and my luck was in, so I now have a pair of ARC Intercoolers  pictured with standard ones for comparison. I hear ARC are pretty good in the intercooler world, can anyone confirm this? I found a price of $2131 for the pair brand new

Had another problem since removing the front bumper, in the driver side arch lining found this Relay connector... It had a Brown relay in it but took that out as it looked like it was full of water! Can someone tell me if this is related to the Aircon Blowers as they now don't work or what else the promplem may be! I've got a display so can still change the Temp and it shows the ambient air outside.. You can hear the flaps inside altering depending on what temp it's set to but they are just not blowing air on any setting, nothing Zero, Zip! Also checked all fused in Drivers footwell and there good, engine relay fine and glove box relay's seem good. Used to…
