I want to put some Tein S lowering springs on my Z, however, the specification says they lower the car 10mm at the front, and 5mm at the rear. If though, my 17 year old springs have sagged, the tein springs may not make any visible differance. The only way I can think to check this before I buy is to find out either; a: the distance between the centre of hub and the centre/top of arch on stock Z springs b: or, the distance between the centre of hub and the centre/top of arch on tein S springs Thanks for your help guys, Dan

I have just done a round trip of 1300 odd miles and not seen one zed  Not only that but no one spotted me either, been to Newquay, Lands End, Eden project, Bodmin area, Alton Towers and Nottingham. If I had the cash for fuel I would do it again in an instant, enjoyed every minute of the drive. The car drove faultlessly the entire trip. Well done car

Picked the Z up from Phil at Blackmoor a couple of days ago and he has done a truly superb job! I cant recommend him highly enough for knowledge of these cars and he is so easy to get hold of as well. I have owned this Z now for 18 months and it felt really good to drive it rather than looking at it or working on it! I worked out i have been a Z owner now since 1999 and havent driven one for nearly 3 years because of problems with my old one prior to breaking it for spares. The next steps i need to do are get the AEM fitted and mapped which will be done at Thor next month and it will also be going to Centre of Gravity while it is down there to check all the susp…

My 1992 UK spec twin turbo Z is going on a power run dyno on Saturday. What power should I expect to get at A. the wheels, and B. the flywheel? Its a standard car apart from a Mines ecu, decat powerflow exhaust, twin mushroom air filters, and an electonic boost controller running it at around 15psi thanks guys, Dan

Blimey what a weekend! Well I decided to get the interior finished on the V8 before i start work on the water/oil/fuel side of things. First job was to sort out the gearlever, the gearbox sat a little bit too far forward so i had to make up an extender to get the gear lever to meet up with the leather gator. I ground the lever down a little (still a bit more to do later on when i have time and the car's on the road) and fitted everything and hooray, one gear lever sorted out. Next job was feed through some wires from the bulkhead to the centre console and label up each end so i know what it's all supposed to connect to the other end. …

It's been a long time since I've done an update on the project, things have been a little slow due to lack of time but there has been progress. Apart from trying to source a slightly larger radiator as I'm not completely happy with the running temperature things are pretty much done. There are few little running issues that need addressing but I can't do anymore and have booked it in with Jeff. It is either a software problem or something simple that a conzult session will cure. Some pics but the engine bay needs a good clean as it's covered in filler dust! The prep on the bumper is going well, until the car is running 100% I am only going to c…

Went to football a few days ago and ball went over the stand and bounced in the carpark and I heared a very familiar alarm, after the game i found that the ball had smashed my window screen, absolutely gutted, phoned my insurance and they put me through to my windscreen claim department, they said last time they did a 300zx it took 5 hours and they had to wait a few months for a windscreen to arrive from japan, luckily they found one straight away and they are repairing it wednesday weather permitting outside my house.

I am considering removing the viscous fan and replacing it with an electric one. Were the later model Zeds fitted with these from the factory, if so, where is the temperature switch located and is it possible to mod the earlier cars? I don't really want to go down the route of a Kenlowe fan because of the sensor which has to be inserted into a radiator hose...

I usually fill up with VPower at Clevedon, but then a Shell garage opened in Weston so I started going there as it's closer to me, trouble is they're useless - more expensive than Clevedon and it's a 50/50 chance that they've run out of VP every time I go to fill up. So went to Tesco's last night, and was amazed to find 99 ron there at about £1.07 / litre. I asked the girl how long they'd had 99 ron, she said "oh, I think that's just been labled wrong"! I said, "so I've just been ripped off?" she said "oh er I'm not sure". Hopefully she was just daft as a brush. I had no signs of det on the way home at 1 bar boost anyway. Anyone else use Tesco 99 instead …
