Hi Gavo. How long have you had the grey Zed. That one used to be mine and I still miss it. I sold it to Ricey Racer with a knackered auto box, then I saw he was trying to sell it. Next thing I heard was my cousin in Dublin saying he`d seen it advertised over there for stupid money. Did you buy it from over there or did it somehow make its way back here first? I loved that car but got sick of the gearbox problems. Hope you`re having fun with it pete

I am getting a vibration which I am guessing is the propshaft or diff. It is barely audible around town but above 40 mph it gets louder settling to a steady hum between 70-100. I thought it may have been a bearing as one of rear discs gets a lot hotter than the other but the noise doesnt change going around a bend and the bearing feels fine when the car is jacked up and the wheel turned. Any thoughts or feedback. This is my first Z.

Found i have a little time in the latter end of the evening these days (none any other time lol) and instead of sitting on my bum watching TV and surfing the internet i am making a start on the many things i have piled up relating to my zed. Tonight i started prepping my vented bonnet and matching headlight panel. Wash, rub down, bit of filler and then smoothing off etc... I've also got a pair of side skirts making their way to me with some door fillers. This to will need prepping and spraying etc....... Got a pair of 99 spec headlight inserts which need painting one way or another (still undecided which route to take with them). Then they will need putting…

Yet again a quick forum search solves a problem..... My car developed a really noisy 2nd gear, I assumed it was because of wear and mileage. Thought it would probably need a rebuild! A quick search......noisy 2nd gear http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=89020&highlight=noisy+2nd+gear Bobs you uncle! The rubber gaitor under the leather had come loose so when in 2nd it lifted it up and let all the noise out! Can't believe how well these rubbers work. I secured the top rubber to the lower rubber more securely with a large cable tie. Job done, noise gone.:D Thanks again 300zx.co.uk

As above really, I'm looking to do this soon and wondered are you supposed to put anything on the threads or use a washer when fitting the new one. I do know that the body of the sender is actually the earth connection though as there is only 1 wire to the sender. Cheers:)

Have still been hanging around here post crash and have a couple of things you guys might be able to help me with. The assessor called and offered me £3k (car was £4k in February) after a lengthy discussion and all the info I had sent to the insurance company NOT being forwarded to him he concluded that I was probably right and should get more but he didn't have the authority to sanction a £1k increase and someone else will call me................ I had full no claims and my daily driver ('98 BMW 528is touring) is insured with Admiral. The Z was a 2nd car insured with Chaucer-do I need to call Admiral to tell them about the crash or wait til my renewal comes thr…

Ok, i have a problem, runs fine, and can rev it to ya hearts content, no miss fire, take it out and put a load on the engine and it's on 5 more than 6. I have changed the plugs, set my timing correctly, it was slightly out, cleaned up all the connectors on my TPS and CAS, and all the coil pack connectors, although most of the plugs are a bit knackered, they are making a good connection. Also, when i rev it gently up to about 2000rpm, it's a little spluttery, and i get a clickity clikity clickity sound, which sounds like an injector spacking out, but turn the cas and all sounds well. After 2000rpm it is as sweet as nut, until you drive it... All i can think of now is a dod…

have had condensation here for some time. decided to have a look & after dismantling I find that the condensation is actually inside the lenses i.e. the lenses are 'double glazed' & the condensation is in the gap. Will put in a warmish oven to dry out (hopefully). How do I stop this recurring? anyone had same problem?

Greetings from my jollies:D The Z has started misfiring on one or more cylinders, not all the time and usually after it's been stood for even an hour or so. First time was in the wet. second time it was dry. Both times it has cleared itself after 10 minutes or so, hoever this last time it hasn't as yet Any ideas what's causing this and how can I find out which cylinder(s) it it is Cheers:confused: It's a 93 N/A manual. BTW I'm on a rip of tertminal that charges a quid for 10 minutes. Hope you guys can point me in the right direction. I'll drop in later

What is the legal position of using a 300ZX on a tyre that has a 92Q rating? Not a budget tyre but a well known make. Not my car I should add.

Have removed my carbon canister today following Robo's guide posted on this forum but have some confusion on the 3 pipes nearest the intercooler! Have installed the vacumme pipe as pictured in his diagram but the bottom pipe *Green arrow and dot" seems to be sucking in air which indicated to me boost leak! Do I block this off or is it needed to stay open for fuel pressure etc... The top one of the three has also been left open but no leak there... Very confused please help!!
