Have you tried swapping one Andy or is it a guess like me? LOL

I'm not sure the TT ECU does have anything else to control other than the different fueling etc and that will be taken care of in the ROM.

Does anyone know if the ECU's are the same between NA and TT apart from the ROM?

Oil light turn on? I presume you've got oil in it??? If it's low on oil it will be noisy and might just need a top up.

Have you tried the heater/control diagnostics? ;) http://www.ttzd.com/tech/autocctech.html It's a complex system and I suspect it's a sensor or actuator problem.
