  1. Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan!, Dan! Sorry, bit of Alan Partridge there  Thanks a lot mate, the books arrived first thing this morning
  2. I used to have one of those watches but the battery lasted about a week and cost more than the watch  I've had a couple of pairs of Aviators too :D
  3. I don't know any and I've been in IT 17 years LOL The one on the left can support my hardware anytime :D
  4. I remember fitting mine when doing the manual conversion it's a tw@t of a job. Spent hours hanging out the door lying on my back in agony! Took the seat out and most of the dash in the end but still a pain.
  5. I'm not too hot on Linux/Unix being a Windows bod but I'm pretty sure there is always a user called "root" which is like the Windows administrator account. I suspect the admin user you created is just a standard account with insufficient rights...
  6. 939,472,712 addresses according to mine  I don't think anyone thinks it's foolproof but got to be better than nothing? Any better ideas?
  7. I've got a plate on retention that I bought for a second car but never got round to fitting and as my second car is now an old astra I'm not putting the private plate on it and looking a muppet. You have to pay £25 for them to retain it every year it's not on a car. Does it cost them more to have it on the computer saying it's not assigned to a vehicle than if it was on one? NO FFS Robbing barstewards.
  8. Yes there's a few of us saddo's :D http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=86404&highlight=xbox
  9. Shareaza does seem pretty good. I've been using it a while and it's dead simple to use and logs into all the different P2P networks and handles torrents. Got to be Peerguardian for blocking the authorities ;)
  10. Mr Bunny likes taking photo's of orbs if you read his other thread ;)
  11. Yes that sounds good mate. I've worked for Eversheds in the past who are a big legal firm :)
  12. NTL's version isn't out yet so I'm still waiting. Like you say, cable speeds tend to be true speeds which you never really get from ADSL phone lines. My 4mb connection is very quick so I've not bothered upgrading to the full 10mb service. It's not the cheapest but is definately worth a couple of quid more for what you actually get. I heard rhumours the speed is going up quite a bit but they were also talking about a basic package of TV, phone, internet and mobile with 300 mins and 300 texts for about 30 quid a month i think.
  13. Yeah NTL and Telewest are being taken over by Virgin so in a few months they say you'll have one low monthly payment for TV, Internet, Phone and Mobile :) Never had a problem with my NTL cable and it's very fast. NTL/Virgin are bringing out their equivalent of Sky+/Tivo very soon too :) If it's any good I'll cancel my Sky+ and pay a lot less all round.
  14. I think there's just too many people in IT these days and the rates seem to have dropped massively. I've got a mate working at HBOS who's on a decent rate but everything else I'm getting offered is pathetic. Some of it is basic work but £8ph FFS by the time I'd paid my expenses and tax out of that I could earn more in McDonalds! I got one interview for a senior system admin / IT manager contract at Richmond council which I was told was £25ph only to find the agency had said I'd do it for £14ph but the employer said I was still about 50% more expensive than everyone else he'd interviewed. They said the role might go permanent in 6 months on £14K! I told him I'd do it if he trebled the salary and left LOL I used to work for local small to medium sized businesses on £60ph but I dropped a lot of contracts for a permanent IT manager position at my accountants who were a very big practice in Leeds. As well as a very good salary I was to start an IT division supplying accounts systems and support for their clients with a 40% profit share and 3000 clients of which a huge number were interested in the service. It went great for 9 months until the company announced they were being bought out and I was made redundant minus my clients :(
  15. Anybody tried Autoglym Bumper Care on it? Works wonders on the outside plastic and rubber trims and takes them back to new. It doesn't leave that horrible silicon mess that you get from Back to Black etc.
  16. Yes you can just do the exam :) I looked at doing a course but like Andy said it's about £1500  That would be great :) I'll PM you my details. Thanks a lot mate
  17. They must be 10 times louder than the Apexi's and HKS, Blitz etc. Anyone who's been in my car will tell you how they make people jump off the pavement a quarter mile down the road  $279.00 is about £141.00 for a pair :o from Z1 at the mo: http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_22&products_id=83 The Type H-RFL on Turbo XS site: http://www.turboxs.com/shop_prod.php?what_category=2
  18. Problem is I've got over 15 years experience but been self employed for quite a while and can't seem to get many interviews or get back into contracting as I'm competing with school leavers with MCSE's prepared to do the work for £8ph :( Hardly had any work in 6 months now and the Z will have to go soon :( I think I'm short of a couple of recognised qualifications to get my CV looked at properly.
  19. I'm struggling at getting IT contracts at the moment and looking for another qualification. I'm fancying moving into more project management work so considering doing PRINCE2 but I may be better doing ITIL as it's more relevant to what I currently do. Any recommendations? Does anybody have the coursework knocking about that they don't need anymore as I'm broke...
  20. Get the TurboXS RFL ones from http://www.z1motorsports.com they come with a Z fitting kit at a bargain price and are the loudest and least GAY you can get  :D
  21. I've had a few sets of Fulda tyres and they've been great, but as Scrawni said, they'll be different compounds over your way :) Bridgestones always get good ratings here but they're about the most expensive you can buy - I remember getting a quote of £450 EACH for my 285 rears a few years ago! A lot of guys swear by the Goodyear Eagles. Toyos and Falkens seem to be a good compromise on price/performance though.
  22. You wouldn't be disappointed with a 450bhp car, it will be VERY quick. Look around at cars with that kind of power and you're in some very good and expensive company. As soon as I get the money I'll have mine mapped and get the boost up from 13 to 18-21psi ish and see what it puts out. I'm getting 400 at the wheels at 1bar but I'm not risking upping the boost until I know it's mapped properly. Even now there's not many places I can floor the throttle for more than about 3 seconds and by then I'm doing treble figure speeds. Following a car at 50 ish I can overtake and pull back in front in about 2.5 seconds I reckon. If you're not used to that kind of power with no traction control it's going to be dangerous learning the hard way. At least building my car I've upped the power slowly over the years and know it very well. I would have thought 700bhp would be pretty un-useable on the road but good for dragging/racing I suppose. Mac told me his is a bit OTT for the road and it's got another 100bhp ish left in it yet, when he gets new fuel pumps. I'm very tempted to sell mine at the mo as i've got too many debts and it's not even getting used because I can't afford to run it. I could do another decent Z in future when I'm better off again but it kind of seems stupid when I've replaced every part of the car with new so it's reliable and I've sunk going on £30k into it over 6 years
  23. Would have thought it was a big job, if it's even possible. Most people just remove the HICAS with an eliminator bar to lock it up.
  24. You can see the colour of the injectors between the plenum :)
  25. Didn't really see much of BB but I'm glad Jade is out. I really can't stand her. I think she just fell out with Shilpa cos she is intelligent and has class, nothing racist I don't think, she's just totally thick and whilst throwing abuse she used a few childish popadom lines  Nobody would have accused Shilpa of being racist if she had called Jade white trash, because she clearly is  I bet Jade thought she'd earn a few more millions from her BB appearance and get her mum into the family fvckwit biz but with any luck her "career" just ended :)
