  1. Well I've got 295/18's on my 10" wheels and they look just right so I can't imagine stretching them another 2" over a wheel???? They'd look really under-tyred surely?
  2. They are always a tight fit mounted there but I've not heard of anyone having to take the fuse cover off so maybe your hard pipes aren't very well made. You could put them in place of the recirc valves but you might not have the right mounting parts if it came already fitted to hard pipes. Can be adapted though I'm sure.
  3. The uprated bulbs will make a small difference but by the time you've replaced them a few times you're half way towards a HID kit which will completely transform your vision and should never need replacing. HIDS are like driving with your main beam on, in fact you probably won't even need main beam after as HIDS are soooo much clearer and bright white.
  4. A 285 to 295 is about the maximum for a 10" wheel so must be at least a 335 for 12"... Are you having a wide arch kit fitted to get those wheels on? I presume you've checked availability and prices of that size tyre? Not many go above 285's so you'll be very limited.
  5. I think it was a 3 pin thing. I had to unplug 2 connectors and plug the Blitz one in between so it T'd in I think. Years since I did it though.
  6. Yes I miss them too, it looks like there's a gap with something missing but like you say the average bodyshop probably aren't aware of this and fill the holes :(
  7. Mine was fitted the same so I'm missing the trims. I've tried various ways to fix them back on but I can't which means there's a gap that spray and dirt gets in :(
  8. If it's like the Blitz one I had it will be behind the ignition barrel in the steering column or the panel below that :)
  9. I was thinking about that as I typed from someones jokes the other day but I guess they were serious! :x: Yes best stick with the auto then...
  10. Are you starting to see why people suggest it? There's so much less to go wrong with a manual box, even if you love the auto like I did. You could probably have paid for the manual conversion kit twice by now and even when you get your auto working again there's no gaurantee it will last 6 months :(
  11. Isn't it a bit early to be drinking?

Never heard of those. If they haven't got a fitting kit for the Z then it's going to be a long job. Either get some hard pipes made up to fit them in front of the throttle bodies or you'll need various parts to mount them in place of the factory recirc valves... You might be better selling them on eBay or something and getting a set with a fitting kit.
  13. Well for £600 more than a Fiesta 1.1 I think you're right! Still a lot of cash though - I only pay £300 I must be getting old  I had a Fiesta 1.1 company car with full RS factory fitted bodykit years ago. People used to get out of my way on the motorway but I couldn't get past them
  14. Welcome to the madhouse! I wouldn't fancy insuring one at 19, have you had some quotes? :)
  15. It's a while since I did mine but I think you can just pull that pipe off and block it - You can use a piece of pipe with a big bolt in the end and a jubilee clip to seal it. I haven't got the vac bottles on mine as it was a manual conversion and I didn't get all the parts so I tried it without the tanks. On boost the pedal pushes back at you and there's a pulsing effect through the pedal. I got round this by using a one way air valve and a long section of pipe coiled up to act as the vac reservoir to remove the pulsing.
  16. If it's a good price then definately. I've got an RPS Max I can put on but I'm not sure it will hold up so might sell it on. Give me a ring when you're free mate, I'm home all the time at the moment :)
  17. Yes well that's how much my ****ed clutch screwed up the dyno calculations  I wasn't intending to put mine on but Danksy dropped out and his deposit was going to waste. Here's the printout and no it's not my ECG chart during a heart attack
  18. As this is a car forum I think most people knew that. The ones Andy posted up were a joke? That Ripspeed one looks a bargain but I usually stick with Alpine stuff, always loved their gear. Anyone know who makes Ripspeed? I'm sure it will be one of the known brands anyway.
  19. How big is the engine to take 378 litres??? :o
  20. The shocks can cause a very similar vauge wandering sensation at the rear but if it's a really bad side to side kick I'm sure it's the HICAS ball joints. You should be able to check which it is if there's play in the wheels or if the suspension has gone a bit soggy with the usual shock tests?
  21. Can be done like on this gorgeous Thai Z with a single HKS SSQV. Not sure it's worth the effort though as you could buy another BOV for the price of the pipework. I bet they're a pain in the arse to remove and refit :)
  22. No I'd have a £1000 bill instead  It used to be an auto before the manual conversion and a couple of clutches LOL
  23. Well done Steve, another trophy for the collection :) I'm not impressed by your torque figure though, somehow I managed 339 lb ft at 192bhp
  24. Well it didn't take long did it cheeky ****ers! At least I deserve a prize - worst car of the day! :D
