Smokey
Had the Z running for a while last night and I was getting a lot of smoke out of the exhaust. Grey smoke that initially was from both pipes but settled down to just the passenger side. Revving the car made it worse. It was like this for a good 20mins until I decided to go get some Optimax as what's in the tank was over a year old. When I filled it up and started it again the smoke soon disappeared. Any ideas what it might be?

Billing 2004 - What do you want done before you get there
I've got to get the clutch working for a start or I won't even get there! Then: Refit interior bits. Install AFR and sort dual intake/fueling problems. Fit front bumper and wheel arch covers. Touch up a couple of paint chips. Fit stainless top rad hose that doesn't fit the Howe rad. Fit Momo pedals. Fit speedo rings. Fit earth kit. Give interior a thorough clean. Long test drives before attempting the trip to Billing

anyone know
Yes I was about to say, sounds like you're on about the Mitsubishi Warrior. Would quite like one myself as a second car. http://www.mitsubishi-cars.co.uk/specialeditions/l200_warrior/index_5.asp Saw a black Hummer II a couple of weeks ago with blacked out windows and chrome bars and fittings. Looked mean as **** but I wouldn't fancy the fuel consumption which makes a Z look economical.

Has anyone test driven a Chrysler Crossfire?
I like the look of them from the back - they copied my wide arches :D They did get a bit of a slating from the press but my boss has one and loves it. There's a supercharged version coming out soon - ;) Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 (SRT=Street and Racing Technology, 6=number of cylinders), this new sporting machine is offered in both coupe and convertible versions. Beneath the Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6’s grooved hood rumbles a hand-built, Mercedes-Benz 3.2-liter SOHC V6 engine supercharged to make 330 horsepower while burning premium unleaded fuel. With barely more than 3,100 pounds to motivate, this should give the Crossfire SRT-6 plenty of muscle. To get an idea of what this same motor did for the old Mercedes-Benz SLK 32 AMG, that car accelerated from 0-60 mph in about five seconds and blazed through the quarter-mile in about 13.2 seconds.

Stuck Alfa caliper. Any ideas?
Thanks Mr Duff, worked a treat. One side was dead easy but the one I thought was stuck was still very stiff even with my impressive tool :D

I know I'm selling up but......
Is it? I can't remember  Just got to sort this clutch problem out...

Can anyone shed any light on this?
The HKS filters are a bit prone to this, more than some of the other brands. It could also be a faulty PTU unit.

Tailgate tub - any good??
Well I suppose it will reduce MASS!

Switches on clutch pedal?
So whats the point of that and is there an equivalent on an auto?
-
Switches on clutch pedal?
 I was thinking of removing cruise anyway TBH. Seems a waste of time on a manual and I've never used it. If the switch contacts are closed when the pedal is pressed then I should be able to join the 2 switches together to do the job properly.
-
Switches on clutch pedal?
I don't have any plugs spare on the harness but I presume the cruise still works on the brake pedal? On a manual does the cruise have 2 cut switches for brake and clutch? Must do I suppose.

Racelogic TC connection to clutch?
So I can have full throttle shift too? :D I'm sure my clutch will love that :mac1: Well I've got 2 spare switches on the clutch at the mo so may just need a wire soldering in :D

Ok latest on T-shirts for Billing
You looked bigger than that last time I saw you mate :D
-
Tailgate tub - any good??
Well maybe it is down to the fitting but the 2 i have seen have had a definate slope to them and one of the owners told me it filled with water all the time. I'm still tempted though. TBH the only reason I didn't go for it was I spotted the tubs when the car was already in the bodyshop and it was too late. I actually called Peter at PPS and said I was having one but he'd already done the prep work on the boot. Maybe next year... :D

Racelogic TC connection to clutch?
Cooool. Less work than I thought then! Makes a change on a Z. :hyper:
-
Racelogic TC connection to clutch?
Hhhhhmmmmm maybe i'm wrong but I was sure it connected to the clutch on a manual. Don't any of you manual boys have it connected like that for launching?
-
Racelogic TC connection to clutch?
Stuart, I think that's the full throttle shift option you are talking about. I know my TC does have Launch Control which allows a preset rev limiter before you lift the clutch on take off. I think it goes to a switch on the pedal but I don't know how to connect it. This feature never really worked on an auto but it was possible to bodge it. I got my TC from GPS in a GB about 2.5 years ago.
-
Racelogic TC connection to clutch?
I seem to remember that on a manual car the traction control has a switch on the clutch for launch control? How does it connect to the TC box? I seem to have lost the instructions and any cable it came with as the TC was fitted to my Z when it was an auto.
-
Switches on clutch pedal?
Converted from auto to manual and i've got 2 switches on the clutch pedal that aren't connected to anything. I know one is a cruise control cut switch but not sure what the other is. Should these be connected to anything?

Well It has finally happened!
Well I spent tonight on my back with my legs in the air. Nothing new you might say but my back is in agony now LOL The pin was extended all the way so the fork was right on the end of the thread. Turned it back by about an inch but didn't get chance to test it.
