Call in sick, nobody will know mate ;)
  2. Well it's smoking like a chimney at the moment but other than that it's just bumper back on and interior trim bits back then MOT. Chris.
  3. Still got to refit the interior, bumper, fix smoke probs, then get it MOT'd, taxed etc etc in a week
  4. I'm expecting it to be honest LOL
  5. For you I'll get 2 fingers out, in V formation :D ;)
  6. After getting the engine running at the weekend and not being able to get the clutch working I thought I was doomed not to get to Billing but there's hope again :hyper: Bled the clutch again for about the 8th time and loads of air came out. I think leaving it to stand for a few days has made air rise up from somewhere and been forced out this time. What a PITA  Boy does it feel good to drive it again :D
  7. I bled the system again tonight using a £4.99 bleed kit from Halfords and it's sorted!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: Loads of air came out this time but don't understand why doing it 3 times before there wasn't a bubble in sight. Think it must have been to do with it standing since saturday the air has risen to the top of the system and got pushed out. Who knows but I finally drove it round the block tonight! :D
  8. Just got a quote from Houghton in the traders section. £340 on an import with mods! :hyper: My Saxo diesel is £300 FFS! :D
  9. Not sure a bout the tailgate but I'm sure the doors are different
  10. Mine WAS a Jap Auto but now it's a UK Manual
  11. I can get a repair kit for the master cylinder for £15.00 from Nissan. Will this fix most of the problems that are likely to occur and how easy would it be to fit? Thinking of ordering one as a precaution to get this thing working.
  12. I love those cars. Saw a lime green one in Knutsford last year and even when it was just doing a 3 point turn it sounded awesome. Must get saving... :D
  13. Yes and it made no difference. Just spoken to Topless and he says it needs to be be just right to have the effect. I might have adjusted it too far.
  14. Well it was as far to the end of the rod as it would go when I started so the pedal was as high as possible. I adjusted it so the screw was half way towards the booster and it was far worse. I couldn't have adjusted it any further the other way :(
  15. I havent driven it yet but I've had it running for about 90 mins in total and sat with the revs at 3500 for 5 mins a few times and the smoke is as dense as smoke can get - you can see it blowing down the road for a good 100 yards :o The car is out of MOT and I can't really take it for a thrash until the clutch is fixed and MOT'd. It's running fine but I can't tell if the problem is overfueling or oil somewhere. The turbo's have just been fitted and are meant to have done less than 1000 miles. They looked brand new. If I fix the clutch and take it for a spin in this state I'm gonna get pulled. What's the MOT situation when its' like this?
  16. I'll try bleeding it again tomorrow then. I'm not getting any leaks from the slave cylinder so does that mean it's OK? I was thinking that the only way it could go faulty would be for it to leak. So that reall only leaves the master or it's not bled properly.
  17. If the booster goes faulty could it stop the master cylinder working? I've unplugged the vacuum hose to it to remove it's assistance anyway.
  18. What can cause a lot of grey/white smoke from the exhausts? It smells a bit oily to me and it looks like a bonfire from both pipes. Is there anything I could have plumbed in wrong that could cause it? Where do I start to find the cause?
  19. Yes when I first started the fork on the back of the pedal was fully extended on the end of the threads and the slave cylinder moved about 5mm. Tried turning it so the shaft stuck through by more than a cm and all it did is lower the pedal further to the floor and stopped any movement of the slave.
  20. I've not had chance to do anything on the car this weekend but I'll try those tricks tomorrow night. Getting too close to get spares though I think :( Also the car is smoking like a bonfire so I'm beginning to think the "new" turbo's might have a problem or something worse
  21. I think this car is cursed, no way am i going to make it to Billing AGAIN! I've tried adjusting the clutch pedal but there's still almost no movement on the slave cylinder on the box  I've bled the system 3 times from the 3 screws (newer type master cylinder) and there's no air coming out. I presume it's go to be a faulty master or slave cylinder but how can I find out which one? Slave cylinder is fairly cheap but not sure about the master cylinder... Has anyone got spare ones I can borrow or buy?
  22. Well I've just bought a Saxo diesel (60mpg+) to go with the Z :o I've been feeling a bit of a girl driving it but I suddenly feel MUCH better
  23. Have you got chickens in the boot Stu? :D
  24. Most of mine went away when I replaced the spings and shocks but I've just fitted the solid rings from Z1 so will see if I can tell the difference from when I drove it 18 months ago
