  1. I prefer Lady Penelope's Rolls :D Anything with guns gets my vote :mac1: It's a shame it's light RED in colour
  2. I'm suprised there's not separate prizes for Best Original Z and Best Modified Z. They are very different things and peoples tastes vary so widely on them.
  3. I've got the MOT tomorrow so fingers crossed :x: I presume you are keeping the fridge a suprise until Billing then? You've not posted the pics! ;)
  4. Nice one Vinz! I'm hoping for something similar with mine - I think I've got the same spec but no NOS.
  5. I've ordered the Apexi from Chris @ GetGreddy for a really good price. I'm wanting it for it's monitoring features and BOV correction more than being able to adjust the fuel myself (like you say it's dangerous without proper test equipment) but it will make it much easier for the experts to tweak the fueling on a rolling road session.
  6. Thanks for sending that valve for the clutch, it's worked a treat! I owe you a few beers at Billing mate :duffer:
  7. Oil is just right. Took it out again last night for 3 hours and did 120 miles - forgot how thirsty these things are! PaulG sent me a one way valve for the clutch booster that I was missing so that's fine now - I can drive it like a normal manual instead of the clutch just being on or off. If I just leave it running on the drive to warm up, the smoke gets worse and worse, but when it's hot after driving the smoke seems to have gone so should get through the MOT  Turned the boost up to 11psi and oh my god! I know why I've spent all this money and put all my spare time into this thing! It's seriously quick and sounds absolutely mental. About the only decent car I came across was a Focus RS who tried to race but I left it standing. From coming off a roundabout on an A road it turned into a dot in the mirror in about 5 seconds LOL I just can't imagine what those 18G's of Macca's are going to be like at 20+psi! You better be careful mate
  8. What was that all about then or shouldn't we ask?! :D
  9. Yes I'd agree you need to find a proper auto box specialist to investigate. Doesn't sound like one of the usual common problems to me
  10. Maybe it's just imports then? I've seen quite a few anyway.
  11. I'm sure Iain (MAC1) put a warning up from info he'd been given by SE Nissan about uprated poly bushes causing damage to the arms. I think they said they had seen it a few times. I've got them too!
  12. That's standard stuff from the factory! I would think it would be a nightmare to remove...
  13. I broke mine at 70mph on an A road :D Who was it on here told me they cut up the shell with a grinder and put it in a skip?! :slap: Why are you thinking of breaking it? I thought it was really nice Z last time I saw you blast past with BOV's a whooshin'!
  14. "best car stunt ever....?" The one where a silver wide arch Z overtakes an Overfinch Range Rover in 2nd gear and the big end bearings fall apart - the Z embarrassingly has to stop in front of it :mac1: :nono: A sequel could have been made of the resulting 18 month long repairs :D
  15. I've been looking at fuel controllers - Apexi S-AFC and HKS Super AFR and both make a big point of correcting the problem of BOV's on cars with hotwire MAF's when you back off the throttle. I presume this is the norm when you change to BOV's. I think it just proves that recirc valves are far better performance wise and is probably why no car manufacturer ever fits BOV's to their turbo cars! I don't think any rally cars use them either - you can hear wastegates chattering but no DV whoooshes!
  16. It took me ages to work out what that extra pedal did. I've found another 4 gears now :D
  17. Anybody got any opinions on fuel controllers Apexi or HKS Super AFR? Both have the option to correct the fueling for cars with BOV's and I like the idea of being able to adjust the fueling without having to get a laptop linked up, modify the ROM (not a 5 minute job!), test it out etc. If I go to get it set up at a dyno I'm sure they will be able to adjust it much easier than mapping a new chip. The knock meter sounds like a very good idea on the Apexi but how well it works I don't know (it does say it works with a Z32 knock sensor) What are the disadvantages? Chris.
  18. I should have made my post clearer - the original is available (got it) but the remake was a TV movie starring Viggo Mortenson? who was in all the Lord of the Rings films. It reminds me of "Convoy" but with american muscle cars from start to finish and a naked hippy bird on a bicyle :D
  19. Vanishing Point is an absolute classic and I liked the remake even more but it's not available to buy as far as I know.
  20. The only electrical "conduit" is the gearbox/alternator harness. Sounds like they are trying a bit of techno bullshit to me! A faulty wire wouldn't make it engage slowly - it would either be intermitant or not working at all. It's got to be an internal problem on the box IMHO
  21. Not heard of many people using them. It's a bit more expensive than the HKS Super AFR but it has a knock meter built in that is meant to work with the stock det sensor. Just wondered if anyone has tried it?
  22. Well I didn't see or smell any stools mate! :D  It smells fine in the car, it's all coming out of the back. The dump valves are TurboXS RFL's and I put an extra spacer washer in when I assembled them as a few people seem to be having the problems with BOV's making it cut out when stopping. I'll try putting another one in and see if it helps. It might just be me getting used to a very heavy clutch and lightened flywheel.
  23. I'm suprised they even go in there mate! My T28's have about 5mm of clearance and yours are way bigger. The manifolds must reposition the turbo's a lot further under the side of the engine.
  24. I spent all last night getting the front bumper fitted and tightened all the pipes again. Took it out for a longer drive to see if it survived! I'm amazed how much power it has at only 5psi with the T28's - it definately feels much faster than stock and maybe as quick as my old engine was on 14psi! The manual box is so solid with the short shifter and Z Centre knob - absolutely no play at all in the stick :D I've got the clutch booster disconnected as I'm waiting for a one-way valve for it. Have any of you tried driving with an unassisted RPS Max clutch? :mac1: I can only just press the pedal to the floor and have to grip the wheel to get some pressure on it  With the short shifter it makes for very "positive" gearchanges! There's no way you could drive it in town like this without launching into the car in front. I couldn't tell if the smoke was still there on a dark rainy night with tinted windows LOL The only problem is it keeps stalling when I come from high speed to a stop. It might just be me not getting the clutch down quick enough because it's so heavy but hopefully that will be sorted tonight. I crapped myself when I pulled into a petrol station and it cut out in the entrance with no lights at all. Looked under the bonnet and found some muppet had forgotten to tighten the battery terminal :o LOL
  25. I've got no booster connected at the moment and the RPS Max clutch needs an elephant to press it down. It's almost impossible to slip it for hill starts etc LOL
