  1. Yes tried twisting it but wasn't really expecting it to work that way so didn't give it much effort  Got a tool being delivered from my local trade place for £15 so no great loss if it doesn't work and every time I do the Z pads I wish i had a proper tool for the job. Duffer, you could use it to separate your head from your arse!
  2. 235 acres according to the Billing Aquadrome site: http://www.billingaquadrome.com/home.php
  3. Here you go Mr G: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=32931&highlight=lights Some pics of Mike's car.
  4. Ben, Got to sort this clutch problem and put the bodywork back yet and I'm not getting home until late in the evenings. I think I'm working on saturday but if it's "mobile" on sunday I might be able to nip over and return your tools etc. Don't know if a drive like that might be a bit ambitious for it's first run though LOL Thanks for your help mate  :hyper:
  5. I bet it's not strong enough to move his 20 stone arse :mac1:
  6. Well it makes sense that that's the problem as the handbrake mechanism is on there and the brakes have been fine recently. I've needed one of these for a while but you can guarantee I'll never have to use it once I've got it
  7. You should be able to park pretty close to the stand in the main camping areas.
  8. Thanks mate, I've ordered one. As usual by the time i've bought all the tools I could have paid for them fitting lol
  9. Sounds very painful but I'll give it a try  It does have the handbrake on the caliper but we tried all sorts and it didn't move a mm.
  10. Tried to fit a set of new rear pads to my Alfa 156 V6 last night and found the piston is stuck solid. Tried it in a strong vice and it just will not budge. I'm selling the car now the Z is almost back on the road so just want a cheap fix
  11. I can put a new chip in the car in 30 secs now I've wired the ROM into an external box with quick release socket. Knew it would come in handy ;) You can't imagine how nervous I was when I first turned the key after all this time and money spent over the last year. With all the problems and bad luck I've had recently I was expecting a loud clatter of pistons, valves, bearings etc ending with a bang and clounds of smoke! LOL As soon as we connected the fuel it fired up with a quick turn of the key. Amazing when this replacement engine hasn't run for about 18 months!
  12. Yes seems fine so far but haven't had it on the road yet. It does seem to stumble a bit when backing off the throttle but I suppose this is normal with dump valves and a twin pop? Never tried one with both these fitted before. Thanks for getting the code to me mate. This car is turning into a forum team effort  Might have a solution for the clutch to try tonight.

Try Andy Z in the traders section
  14. I was discussing this at the weekend and aparently you can buy fibreglass pits ready made so you just dig the hole and drop it in, complete with steps etc moulded in and it's watertight so nothing can flood in. Just like a giant pond liner!
  15. Lucie, you can drive mine sometime but I'll need "persuading" too ;) :D
  16. Put me down for one mate :hyper: Laaaaarge!
  17. Looks fantastic mate. Really like the interior too. Get it down to Billing, there's going to be loads of wide arse Z's this year. PPS Pete does it again
  18. I'll do that mate. Problem is the pedal just goes to the floor and only moves the clutch a few mm. We have bled it a few times and there's no air coming out but when it's running the weight of your foot is enough to send the pedal down.
  19. You can't believe how good it feels to hear it fire up after all this time! :hyper: Started with this a few months ago: "Camping" with Big Mac and MTL "Z Guru" in the rain: Nearly there: Something mean lurking in the drive: Ready to start: Looking good: Starting to grin now it's running: Massive thanks to MTL who came all the way from south of London to Leeds and spent his whole weekend working late with us to get this done. He really knows his stuff. Same to Macca and Ben for their help this weekend and over the last few weeks with a lot of travelling themselves. Car sounds awesome and the bigger turbos have made the exhaust sound even deeper. You should have heard it without the exhaust on when we first fired it up. The neighbour came out and said his tiles were falling off the roof LOL Still got a problem with the clutch but it's pretty much sorted so I'll be at Billing if it doesn't die on me for another year again LOL.
  20. Why not try Z World? ;)

 Doubt it, by the time he got to inserting 2 fingers the copper would have scarpered
  22. I don't know what you mean?! :D
  23. I think that the ones with 22 on them are all manual ones but I'll check with the couple I have at home tonight. Is it from UK or Import?
  24. Hey, It was nothing mate ;) but... It's a good job you ignored half the advice about replacing the box! :)
