  1. Nice one! I've got to go out now but can someone see how much we could get 10 kits for. I want one and I'm sure Macca does ;) In fact nearly everyone I know has wanted one when I've mentioned it LOL Neons anyone? :D
  2. Here's a top idea: Remove the O2 sensors and replace them with the plugs from cylinders 5 and 6. The plugs will light all the fuel that's getting dumped into the exhausts and no extra wiring needed :D
  3. That's exactly what I was saying to Macca ;) I do know my electronics! The reason these kits cost a few quid is they come with an oscillator circuit to fire off the sparks. Also, if you just connect 2 spark plugs onto a single system, the spark will just take the route of least resistance across one plug so you only get one flame! I know "Cossie Chris" that hangs out at GPS said he could supply twin kits cheap but I lost his phone number :(
  4. Could do with asking a few questions...
  5. Forgot to say, you are a clever DICK :xxx: aren't you! ;) :D
  6. OK so who else has bought a Doolz with chip and has 555's? :D ;)
  7. Anyway I'm not even sure yet that it's the Doolz causing the problems. There's loads of other stuff it could be causing it to hunt (Mike Hunt? :D) I'll try the single intake when I've got the ROM and then I'll know.
  8. Here's the plan! I'm trying to get it running with a basic chip so I can take it to SE or Thor to be fully mapped to my spec. I didn't want to buy a U.S chip for $£$£$ and it not be set up for my mods and UK fuel. I'll check with them how much they want but I'd rather buy something like an AFR to allow things to be easily tweaked. If I have to put 2 MAF's on it's better than being confined to the Doolz supplied maps etc. Does the HKS AFR compensate for dump valves like the Apexi S-AFC?
  9. I know it's not the same but you are still just metering half the air with a single MAF. The only difference is the pipes join after the meters. I don't see why you need their chip for that.
  10. Well there's other people using a Doolz without the Z1 chip and I've not heard of problems...
  11. It didn't come with a chip. It says to contact them for prices dependent on your current ECU... I've got one from JD for twin pop and 555's.
  12. Thanks John. I'll find out which pin it is on the ECU, just wasn't sure if it was measured at the MAF.
  13. Maybe the problem isn't the Doolz then. I'll get the old filter put back on and try it to make sure.
  14. Call me sad but I want one :xxx: Does anybody know a supplier of kits for twin exhaust cars? Most I've seen only work with one spark plug and you have to buy two kits. I'm not after the ridiculous gas type that gives 10 foot flames, just to light up any unburnt fuel. I know this could turn into a group buy ;)
  15. JD, If you could mail me the file before the weekend it would really help. chris.carter at orange.net Cheers.
  16. I think all Z's need that to keep them on the road  Wasn't it to improve running at low revs though?
  17. There's no mention of it but I wondered this myself.
  18. I was planning on buying Mr Macs now redundant AFR but it might not be any use  Probably still good for tuning it but depends on what's causing it to run rough.
  19. Surely it's possible to link the 2 outputs into one to get a value for the combined reading? Wonder if it's the Apexi S-AFC I'm thinking can link the 2 MAFS? The problem I'm having might not be down to the Doolz but I can't try a single intake until I change the chip back to a standard 555 one :(
  20. Errrr no! LOL The throttle bodies haven't been off so I assumed they'd be OK. I'll check. What should the MAF voltage be and where do I measure it? AIV's are removed. It's idling at about 850-900prm is this what you mean?
  21. I cut the pipe down to size and Mr Mac managed to fit the bottom hose OK but the top one is too big. I better check what the bottom one looks like!
  22. Would it cause smoke though? The car didn't smoke when I first started it up on sunday but we only ran it for a couple of minutes at a time while we checked things over. Last night is the first time it's been running for more than 5 minutes but it smoked straight away. Also it settled down to just the passenger side after a while. I'd have thought it would do it from both if it was the fuel?
  23. Does anyone know of a write up on how to install a HKS Super AFR and 2 MAF's? Just need to know how to join the MAF's into the AFR really. It might be in the manual but I haven't got it yet...
  24. The car is using a Doolz twin POP intake with a single AFM and custom chip with 555's. The engine runs OK when being revved but when idling the revs rise and fall and it stumbles a bit. The strange thing is it was very windy last night and it seemed to do it every time the wind blew hard. The clutch isn't working so it's stationery but i don't know how it would be when moving. Has anyone noticed this problem? I'm wondering if the wind blowing on the unmetered bank of the engine is making a difference and fitting my AFR and a second AFM will sort it?
