  1. Any ideas the best place to run the wire for the oil pressure sensor? I don't really want to run it through the gear lever hole, may have to run it through the ECU boot hole.
  2. Been working all day yesterday and today on the Zs. The shorties snapped boot release/fuel flap cable replaced (took about 4 hours what a pita) with a lwb one, it doesn't really fit (rear is too short between flap and boot latch) but I made it fit because I had no other choice. All shorties interior correctly put back together, and all boot plastics back in. Whole interior of breaker is now removed and brakes/exhaust/suspension leaving only the drivetrain left. Odd wiring jobs on Dad's car, wiring in the 3rd brake light as the loom for the 89 spoiler is not long enough for the perspex strip, waiting in the tail lights and lighting up 300zx. Tapped a hole for the water temp sensor on the upper water pipe. Still lots to do, power steering pump on my impul, replace tie rod boot, install the oil and water sensors. So shortie is now 90% done and practically roadworthy.
  3. About time. I was getting withdrawals
  4. Ah thought they were symmetrical. I saw that above and they had to be different orientation leading Vs trailing but didn't put it down to piston design.
  5. Instead of swapping the sides the crossover tubes are on can you not just swap the callipers right to left? They would be opposite sides as come from the factory but can't be too many differences running on opposite sides.
  6. As it moved with the plug it would be the plug that's a problem. No ideas why it might have failed but a new spark plug is about £6 so no harm in changing the one. If it didn't move with the plug I would have said ptu.
  7. Looks a bit wet as if fuel was on it and not ignited. Throw a new plug in it.
  8. Im looking for a pair of door cards, the tweed can be in bad shape but all the vinyl must be spotless, clips can be busted but ideally all the plastic towers still attached. Also after the interior panel located under the steering wheel. Preferably cheap, can collect depending on location. Ali
  9. You can likely get a new spoiler from the dealership but it's around £450-500. Getting stuck in it looks like!
  10. Interesting. I haven't heard any bad rep from them before and they've performed well for everyone I've talked to. I'm on the 6 puck because I want to future proof the clutch for future power, and it doesn't feel bad, it's not on off like other clutches though I'm sure the RPS would fell much nicer, but that's far out of my budget.
  11. You've heard of the best available above^^ Just so you know there are cheaper options, especially for a tame build such as 400hp. May feel 80% as good for 20% the price that sort of thing. I'm a uni student so my budget is tight, so I have a xtd clutch and flywheel which will hold the power I put though it and cost about £200 with new throwout and pilot bearings :)
  12. Ptu can affect just 1 cylinder or more. It's 6 individual power transistors in a box. Also you underestimate how hard it is to swap injectors and they often break on removal. But okay points.
  13. Just a quick one. Can someone tell me the cotter pin size for the front tie rod castle nuts? 1mm/1.2mm/1.6mm and length. I need to replace the rack boot. Cheers
  14. Sorry guys, there is too much traffic (/closed) on the M1 coming from the North so won't make it in time.
  15. 10-14ohms My car did have backfiring issues because of the Ptu, it just dropped more cylinders. Not sure if you can get them OEM new. I know you can get Chinese ones but they will probably be unleliable so easiest to swap for a S2 once you tested with another S1 and can confim it's the issue
  16. I prefer the early too. Suits the body better. Black is a better contrast than shiney gold ones.
  17. Yeah just skim read it hence the edit. :Innocent: Continue checking things. Have you checked spark on the cylinder down?
  18. Backfiring and lumpy running can be a symptom of retarded timing. But as I added, fix the missfire first.
  19. Sounds like timing to me. But fix that misfire first
  20. Sorry i made a mess of the thread now. A mod can clear my posts :innocent:
  21. Thanks. Mine must be replicas no where near as quality as those :)
  22. What are the wheels on the soarer? I have some pretty identical, mine are fake 3 piece though.
  23. Might have one will let you know
  24. Sad to hear. Well all I got is an NA with rodknock here spare D:
