  1. go for good side mounts...apparently pace jobbies are good
  2. the technicality is that it is illegal to remove the cats from a vehicle that was originally fitted with them, but the car goes through the mot for the reasons legrath said.
  3. with the larger wheels then a brake upgrade route is the r33 calipers and discs, r34 calipers will fit but need the mounting holes enlarged, check out smithys brake upgrades as well. Depends on what power you want as to what you will have to do, rule of thumb is 400bhp is safe on standard internals and injectors, any more and you are looking at forged with 555 injectors , remap and turbo and intercooler change.
  4. ive seen two scoobs with ring land failure in the last week
  5. think of the poor starving baby pigeons waiting for their food and mum to come home....patiently waiting...only for it never to happen and the poor dears to slowly painfully starve to death never knowing what happened to mum , thinking she abandoned them...how could you :x:
  6. oh the squidge of a pigeon, the squirty slurpy sound with just a hint of crunch and a nice thud of tyre....catch the pigeon ,catch the pigeon....lol
  7. Carry out a very thorough inspection when buying one of these, try and take someone who knows the cars with you as well, if the person selling is unhappy about a half hour drive for yourself ...walk away theres lots of these around at the moment.Common faults are fuel smell on a cold day at start up which is just hoses in the engine bay, electrical connections in the bay getting brittle including coil pack connections and injector connections. Lots of other things to watch for but most are in the buying guide
  8. de cat is a system that replaces your cat with a straight through system, and cat back is a system from your cats back
  9. J spec do have a autobox "cooler " inside the rad...it doesnt work well but its there.
  10. only way i can see that working is if it is using the lip as a fulcrum with a serious amount of counterbalance behind it.
  11. but surely bigger cooler means more oil needed to show on dipstick again
  12. did a castle coombe open day...loved it
  13. stock senders tend to kaput over time, easy thing to change or fit a after market gauge using the stock sender hole, book says 3.4 litres for a oil and filter change and 3 litres for just a oil change.
  14. May not be my favourite software provider, but he demonstrates a firm grip of the essentials: Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world. Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it! Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself. Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both. Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity. Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them. Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. so before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing (getting rid of lice) the closet in your own room. Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life. Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time. Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs. Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.
  15. Positive crancase ventilation, which is basically exhaust gasses from the combustion process which get past the piston rings need to go somewhere so at a certain pressure the pcv valves allow em back into the intake, the valves are on the underside of the plenum about 2-3 inches back from the throttle bodies, passenger one is easy , drivers one a pig.
