  1. if the fan was on, id imagine its the temp sensor, thinks engine is hot, so runs the fan. usually code 13, give it a clean, its on the water pipe on the engine
  2. is there such a thing as a reliable R5? S14a, the SR20 engine has loads of potential, and theres plenty of parts available. smaller than the VG30, more room to work on, more parts available, bit more reliable aswel. VG30 is a powerhouse tho :D
  3. nice to have something new, obv this is a 300 forum, so views are going to be a bit biest! having owned both 200sx & 300zx, they are both good cars. 200 is a bit more practical, the Z looks bit nicer standard tho (and is FASTER!) dont get an auto tho, which ever car you pick, as you cant feel/utilize the power. 200s are cool, especially if you get a drifty one :)
  4. very doubt it would be noticed by the loss assesor
  5. do the NA models not have ABS?
  6. yea thumbs up on the connecrtors, solved my issue. they are a bit potchy to get on, due to the awkwodness of the 300 lol use a ohm meter to test they are seated properly after connected
  7. hi mate. yea ive got 5th gear back. tbh the clutch feels not the best bighting point is right on the floor, and is really hard/lots of resistance, but only the bottom half. ive got used to it tho. i think the garage just did all the work on the pedal, rarther than air in there (they did say there was air tho)
  8. yea, could ohm test it aswel, bit easier. but dont supose will say if its injecting. id go down the connection route before the injector itself
  9. just becasue youve cleaned the terminal doesnt mean its clean clean, there is often all the green gunk inside the plastic bit, where the wire goes from the loom to the connector. i broke my connector apart, then used speaker spades on the injectors. BUT that doesnt work, as you have to have a real good connection for them to work. had to ohm test the connection to check it was working
  10. which one? cant make out from the pic, can you circle it?
  11. yea id try the injector conenction, there are things called noid lights, their onluy a fiver. you put them in the injector connector, and it flashes if the signal is getting there. but saying that, there could be corrossion on there that says ok to the noid, but if not seated 100% on the injector, with good connection wont fire the injector. give the injector a good clean, get as much gunk off there as you can & try again. sometimes tho its so hard to get out & clean, i had to buy 6 new ones (7quid each)
  12. the injector connection would be the next thing to check. they get corroded badly.
  13. check this mate few on here :) http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-car-projects-builds/51452-project-d-i-m.html
  14. yea think so. there a guide on replacing? easy job?
  15. car WONT idle at the mo. im thinking theres a vacuum leak somewhere, going to do a test onit this week. just checking that this wont cause any problems tho, the 2 hoses that go to the EGR solenoid, ive removed & blocked off (at both ends) reason was, one of the pipes went to nowhere (on the side of engine, but nothing attached to) and i needed some hose for the washer jets, so cut & blocked the other off. no problems by doing this? if not theres a vac leak i presume as WONT idle on its own, needs blip on the trottle
  16. yea garage advised it is the pump. it has fluid in there, but its making a whining noise. they said you can get products to make it quiet? or do i need a new pump you think.
  17. the hazards & the indicators are on a different curcuit. check the bulbs, and the fuses in the drivers footwell
  18. my climate temp is reading -85
  19. tinting spray is about a tenner, ive done car before, sprayed on outside, looks fine :) i think i prefer clear lenses tho these days? PS i think a small number plate on the front always makes the car look slightly cooler. :)
  20. you need to get it soldered in. its quite small so yea usually a pro does it for you. unless you are good with small solderes. there are people on here which do chips, John dixon, and DTA motorsport do them, do a search :) about £100 :)
  21. if you do the mph conversion that remvoes the 110 restriction. the ECU is still restricted to 155mph tho. best way is to get a chip to remove it, you can also up the boost etc then aswel.
  22. na its just the car is in for an MOT tomorrow, and its started making this noise tonight. just wana know about the pump, should it be that. garage are pritty good, just i like to know about things and try sort it first :)
  23. probably cheaper to buy a non runner and take the parts off?? it was easy for me as i had my manual car as a donor.
