  1. That'll be why the camber's not right. Take it to a place which has a proper machine and gives a printout. Here's the spec. More details in the online manual http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi in the Front Axle section. Wrong camber means you get uneven tyre wear on inside or outside edge. If you're getting inside edge excess wear, that is a sign of camber not being right. Ask Pirelli and Red Bull hohoho.

  4. And mine. #2 for me.
  5. Some imports did and some didn't. My S1 and S3 did but my S6 doesn't. These are for cars without Bose. But the usually Clarion made Nissan OEM units for cars with rear amps expect them to be there. That explains the huge number of Zeds where people THINK the leads to the rear speakers are broken when in fact they're not. The only reason there is no sound coming from the rears is that the rear amp hasn't been turned on because most people don't wire it up when changing headunits. More info here http://www.300zxtt.co.uk/techaudio.html PS could you take a pic with a wider field of view so we can see exactly where it is? I've never been able to find out where it should be and I don't have a Zed with one any more!
  6. Hallo Andy, sorry I didn't recognise you but I've never seen you before :D :D Yes indeed that was me - I'll wave back next time :thumbup1: Cheers (and cheers AndyP too...) Gio

  8. This is such a good example of Zed pedigree. There wouldn't be Z32s without them. And look at the white paintwork in the engine bay. puts me to shame. Hallo Richard! Great colour, that blue, isn't it :D The London Motor Museum is well worth a visit. OK, it's not Beaulieu but it's only in Hayes and they're a very welcoming lot. And they've got a Nismo Z31 - the only car in the museum not owned by Elo!
  9. Not from where I live. Besides, the Archers haven't finished yet :cowboy: dum de dum de dum de dum, dum de dum de dum dum.
  10. That's a very key point. Unless you are looking for a project car, it's always a good idea to buy on condition and history. Not just because of how it is now but it can be an indication of how carefully the prevous owner(s) looked after a car.
  11. Yes it's noticeable in the real world but no, it doesn't really matter. I've had both and you can tell the difference. But the ability to actually use the turbo in the real world is limited by a) not wanting to drive like a moron b) not wanting any more points. In 7 years of TT ownership (manual) I got maybe 20 mpg and in 3 years of NA (auto), I get around 24/25. Do I miss the TT? Yes. And when I stop having to commute around London, maybe I'll get another one. But for day-to-day traffic, NA is a very civilsed way to get about and even though NA, still shifts when you give it some. Just without that insane turbo rush.
  12. Do they have a sticker on them from Invoauto? http://www.invoauto.co.uk/home.htm They look very similar They can supply new rings. They will also say this type of crack is due to overtightening. I replaced mine with these from Coz. No locking rings to break and 4 locking keys (2 each side) into a nice big lump of metal.
  13. Not with Nissan :) If you're in Wales, I'd head for Zedworld. Oh, and welcome to the club.
  14. And for comparison http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=44310
  15. But how do you know she's a witch?
  16. Happy Birthday AndyP. Time for the pipe and slippers....
  17. Who's stellaZ? :winkiss: :happybday:
  18. I've had both (well, in 2+2 anyway). If I didn't have to commute in London everyday, I'd still be in the turbo. But an NA is a sweet every day car and there really is less to go wrong. And, tbh, it can go just as expensively wrong without turbos. But then again 24/25mpg as opposed to 20 ....
  19. My Silver TT manual was about 145,000 miles and my Blue NA auto was at 108,000 miles when they were sold. Both engines in good condition. These engines are well designed and constructed and, as Yowser says, maintenance is key factor. Do it properly and don't bodge the engine, they should keep going for '000s and '000s of miles. Oh, and PS, unless you have original Japanese documentation (de-registration cert, service hist) or BIMTA check, it's impossible to be 100% sure that the reading on the clocks is accurate. Earlier clocks can easily be adjusted and reputable places like Zedworld will issue a certificate of conversion. Later clocks have the odometer protected so this re-set is either v difficult or impossible.
  20. Might be worth offering them on ZClub.
  21. 83-89 is for Z31, 90 on is Z32 so completely different car, I'm afraid. Blame Nissan for calling them both 300ZX!
  22. Licence fee is per household not person (basically). So let's look at the real figures which are publicly available. BBC licence fee income for 09/10 was £3.56 billion. 66% goes on TV so that's £2.35 billion. The rest goes on national and local radio, website, iPlayer, transmission and fee collection costs. As of 2015, the licence fee will also have to cover S4C, BBC Arabic TV and BBC World Service which used to be paid for by the government. For the year just ended (to June 11) BSkyB had 10.294 million subscribers with an ARPU of £539 so that makes £5.548 billion. So roughly speaking, BSkyB has twice the income for half the number of subscribers/homes than the BBC. Or, to put it another way, they have four times as much to spend per home than the BBC. And that doesn't count the significant income they get from wholesaling channels to eg Virgin or the significant fees they charge other channels to be on the EPG. They're a very successful company and have revolutionised TV but the subscription model (as opposed to licence fee) means that now they can afford to bid higher than just about anyone for just about anything. Last year's operating profit was over £1 billion. And if they have bought your sport / favourite show / movie you only have one choice: pay up (and give them more profit to buy more stuff) or don't watch it. The traditional PSB model (BBC and commerical TV) has faults but at least its free to watch.

  24. Ooh, so they are. Worth a bookmark, that.
  25. eh? leo-r23gts hasn't said anything in this thread before  Actually both sorge and HollowPoint said the same thing and they're both right.
