Hi From Scotland
Quite right too, need more of that sort of attitude  BTW if you have a Z28 and a Z32 does that mean you have an average of Z30 or a total of Z60 :confused1: ? I'll get me coat...

spoiler or not?
meep meep :D Saw one of those - a bright yellow one - try to turn round at the end of the dual-carriageway opposite The County Arms in Wandsworth once. Took a 3 point turn haha.

spoiler or not?
There's a time and place for (almost) everything but with Zeds "Less is More". Of course, track day / strip / show cars are special cases and in pursuit of performance, form follows function. I saw Bob's white shorty at Eurospec (it is Bob's, isn't it?) all specced up for action with that sort of spoiler. adjustable front splitter, tiny mirrors etc etc and it looked just right - it's that sort of car. But if you're not using the green one as track anymore, then a lot of the bits are surplus as you already thought. For me, a factory style spoiler is the best (any variety) and most suited to the Zed. But my most recent one didn't have a spoiler and despite what I said, I don't think I'll be adding one. I've sort of got used to it now and when in doubt, I'll keep it as close to how it came out of the factory as poss. At least it's original.

02 data problem
I tried 3 for a while but their signal was worse where I live and in a couple of the locations I work at. So back to O2. They do include tethering where (when I looked last year and they change quite a lot) 3 you only got tethering on one of the top packages. Being in the "getting internet into rural locations" business, I have to go all over the place and by-and-large O2 has widest coverage where I have to go (plus free wi-fi when in one of their hotspots). That said, there are a couple of "holes" where EE works and O2 doesn't. So first, choose your network by coverage where you need it, then compare deals from the relevant network. I use both my Windows Phone and laptop and so far (several years) have not had an issue with O2 data amounts or data counters when either on PAYG or PAYM. The one on my phone pretty much agrees with the one on the account. That said, they're not perfect (no-one is) so if you think you have a valid error as described, keep going. I've had OK results through their chat although it can take a little patience. Best of British.

I posted the answer to that back in 1985...

Terraclean
I agree with AndyP and Noz. In addition, they make 4 claims on their website some of which can be tested directly: 1) Claims to clean the Injectors - this should have the same effect as replacing injectors (with clean ones, natch) 2) removes carbon from combustion chamber and on intake valves - do any of you guys who work on Z engines notice carbon encrustations on "uncleaned" engines? 3) cleans dirty O2 sensors - so same effect as replacing old O2 sensors 4) cleans catalytic converter - can't see how this would effect running or mpg or performance. For sure, in the "good old days" you would have to de-coke engines but haven't come across this being needed with modern engines / fuels.

What did you do to your zed today?
Yesterday, actually, - yet another 400mile roundtrip in a day from London to Barnstaple and back. Nice mix of A, B, Dual and M. Filthy weather, snow/slushstorm in North Devon. But what other car would I enjoy this in? The joys of stock reliability, handling, comfort suits the 300ZX as "Grand Tourer" which is what it's supposed to be. As the Hendon boys say "making good progress" and - which is the reason for this post - my highest ever mpg in a Z. OK it's an NA but it is Auto. 30.0mpg - and if I hadn't done my morning commute before filling up this am, it would have been higher. Normal Shell Unleaded, too...

Merry Xma.... er, damn ... Happy New Year to all. May all your MOTs be painless.

Motorbike in Cycle Lane....
From your pics, that cycle lane looks to be one of those advisory ones. That means, as you quote, other road users (including motorcycles) can use them. "If necessary" simply means if they need to. And if the other bit of the road is full, then the other road user can use the advisory cycle lane. If the biker was travelling at a legal speed, then it is the responsibility of the turning traffic to not drive in front of him. Sorry, but that is the case. If you could not see if it was safe to carry out your manoeuvre, your responsibiity was not to do it.

"You picked a fine time to leave me, Loose Wheel!" - Mondo's new Zed.
Yep, me too. When my first Z was written off/rebuilt, "everybody said" use 99 spec front bumper. But the original style makes for a sharper, flatter look. I always think great white shark vs whale shark. Here's my Series 6 and old Series 3 side by side . I think the "wide mouth frog" look of the 99 spec was in part inspired by the Supra at the time and was, then, the "newer look" in Japan. Rear spoilers I am less concerned about. OEM are top of the heap and I think the Series 1/2 shades it over the later ones. But then I had a S3 and never wanted to change it :) But here I am with a genuine Series 6 wide mouth frog and no spoiler :D

New Zed niggles!
300ZX Audio is a bit of a minefield. There were Bose units which had different amps, non-Bose factory fits where some had rear amps and some didn't. Seems to vary with Series and with whatever they had in the parts bin when they were building the car. Then it gets complicated as soon as some monkey with set of bullet connectors tries to bodge it. Couple of wiring diags and some links here http://300zxtt.co.uk/techaudio.html I haven't had low front speaker issues (did have with rear amp) my guess is might be there is a front amp which isn't powered up. The way I did it was to take everything back to the original Nissan harness and then start afresh. Good luck.

SWB Z on the Bay
Oi. There is no way I could have known from Rolandas post that he was referring to any specific car. Nor indeed that you have discussed selling your car to him. My point is that a) you can get junk for 2k or less and b) that I agree with Gary the car posted looked to be a good one and looked to be worth the money asked for it.
-
SWB Z on the Bay
You can indeed get a heap of junk for 2k or less - but that one looks really clean, not too high mileage, lots of stuff / work (on paper anyway). I'd rather take a look at that one than blow 2k on rubbish. Worth supporting the value of good Zeds, anyway.
-
SWB Z on the Bay
Not my personal style but look at the work done and the general quality - engine bay's clean and the re-upholster looks a lot better than the last one Mondo posted. Oh, and the exhaust's cleaner than mine. If it is as good in the flesh as it looks on spec/screen, could be a nice buy for someone.

Is this the thin end of the Wedge?
And some balance from the Beeb (even though it mentions a Scooby :) ) "I race on a track, because that's where it should be done. Not on a road. My car is my baby, I don't want her damaged and I don't want to behave like an idiot." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-30300916

Got given a lecture by a cyclist this morning......
Enough of your sex life on the forum, please

Motorbike in Cycle Lane....
Erm, don't think that's a dedicated cycle lane. http://www.devon.gov.uk/traffic_management/cycle_lane_road_markings.htm?nocache=3119 Glad you're OK - but if those pics show broken white lines rather than solid, can be used by other road users.

Is this the thin end of the Wedge?
The few abiding by the wishes of the majority is, er, democracy. As an ex Chelsea Bridge cruiser, the behaviour shown in that video is out of order, antisocial and dangerous. Properly organised meets (eg Ace Cafe, car clubs, local pubs) aren't going to promote that sort of chavvy nonsense so the injunction won't be relevant. BTW it's only in 4 counties and only for 3 years. Don't drive like a d*ck and it will go away.

If I were to sell my Zed...
Well, there you go you see - when I sold my Zed, it was to buy another Zed. Twice :) Lots of nice cars being linked to but none with the same balance of the Z. Proper GT Coupe, 2+2, mpg 20 - 28, load space when needed, insurance, RHD etc etc. If I could afford the gas http://www.hsv.com.au/Gen-F/home/au/
