  1. Starters on zeds are know for crunching and griding against the ringgear .Its caused by the throwout armature not retuning after start up sometimes they can be fixed with taking off and spaying up with wd40 .There £180 new .about £40 secondhand.
  2. Ive done one got from andy super car parts in thetford he had loads in stock half hour job heat sheild removal is the hardest part .Remeber to disconnect battery.
  3. Ring gear is the teeth on the flywheel if starter is contionoiusly engaged to the ring gear when reved the starter can over heat burn out and have been known to catch fire so becarefull .
  4. Why they are reving it to 3k is beyond me with the oil pressure light on.It might have only needed a new set of big end shells now the crank has probably knakered .Hear that knocking and turn of straight away. :headvswal
  5. Ive got a r33 gts/t rear rack complete with arms my arms have play on both inner joints under the rack gaiters .Will these arms fit a z32 they look the same not sure about thread pitches anyone know thanks taff.
  6. Now that car is sex, id love a convertable zed for the summer and my slicktop for the winter.Are they not avalible in tt in japan ive been told they wernt but i cant see why .There must be a few over there converted to tt.
  7. Slicktop=LWB+SWB no only swb only. jap cars get folding mirrors and a stop light in the rear spoiler.rear side markers and diffrent front light set up sidelights etc.A lot of imports tend to have aftermarket tuning parts fitted in japan exhaust /ecu/airfilter etc.
  8. watch when gaping hks plugs as they tend to break the centre electrode as there neddle thin.I left mine as they were out of the box.
  9. Just seen 4 convertable zeds on autotrader site they seem to be getting fairly common now one is only up for 4.5k.Theres also a 98 spec 2x2 aswell.
  10. Do uk spec cars have alloy calipers i thought it was just JDM cars that had them.

  12. Thanks mate sorted now it was a dodgey coil pack connector plug .I dont know why because i never touched it .thanks guys .

  15. Hi vinney dont surpose you have any whats what under bonnet links for the tt do you mate ive done a search and cant find anything cheers taff.

Drilled a hole throw the fire wall to put boost controler cables threw near the throttle cable and smashed the lid off a little black box on the inner wing with the drill it has a plug on the bottom and a small vacum pipe connected .It runs but misfires badly does anyone know what it is and how much are they thanks taff.

  19. Ive got a 9" wheel on the front with a standard arch with a 0 offset rim fitted with a 235 .Thats about the limit with a standard arch dont know how much of a flare there is on the wide arch front wings .

My experence on de catting is the rest of the exhaust system being a performance exhaust is to free flowing already ,remove the cats and get a even bigger drop in back pressure causing turbo seals to go.Just wondered has anyone de catted a standard zed exhaust and had problems.I know it not a vg engine but on the ca18det engine de catting with a hks hyper exhaust which has a massive bore and very free flowing de catting can cause more smoke problems .But put a mongoose exhaust on x2 tailpipe on which is slightly more restrictive but still a performance exhaust and not so many smoke problems .I think the turbo seals [age]have a lot to do with this problem but making it to free flowing does as well .Id like to know if anyone has de catted a standard system and had problems thanks taff.
  22. I think swb and 2x2 and auto and manual are the same front pipes .These look like megan racing copies the fit maybe a bit dodgey hiting box etc.And watch out for thin flanges and bad welds.

  24. Greddy and pitwork do filters as well mine had a greddy filter on it when imported.
  25. Arnt swb and 2x2 diffrent as well.
