  1. One of the pikeys??????!!!!! I love the Zondas. IMO its the way supercars should be going, like the Maclaren as well. They should be as lightweight as possible and small, proper racing cars. Not huge great heavy things as some of them are getting to be.
  2. What he said. Sounds like a virus or something. Make sure you have up to date virus protection, also a firewall is good. Especially if you haven't bought a router to replace the usb broadband modem thing the ISP gives out free.
  3. I was just messing around with different pictures. Thats Molly my macaw. I also use a picture of the rex :-)
  4. Anyone seen this yet? http://www.zweitgeist.com. You have your own little character that follows you around the web. Anyone else who is also on the website appears as well so you can chat. Its really funny when you have a whole group there. You can change your character as well so I have mine as a picture of Molly my macaw that everyone sees moving around the screen! Dave
  5. My first zed was the same colour (and a nightmare). It was my first performance car and also the first car I ever messed with the engine on haha what a car to start on! Still I've got some fond memories of the few times I had it running well. It was fast as fduk until the engine blew from accidental overboosting!
  6. I read a report about this in one of the IT industry weekly mags. It was saying there that the technology isn't sufficiently reliable yet to do it, but they are in support of it and are continuing to develop it. I doubt it would take long as there's a lot of cash rapped up in it. I've signed the petition a while back on the downing site website as I'm sick of the nanny state mentality. Just out of interest on this one though: common sense would say that they would work it in such a way that the average household pays about the same tax as they do now (or a bit more if you are the cynical ones). Maybe this would benefit enthusiasts like us who have several cars and are paying out silly tax and insurance for something that we don't drive very often?? Just a thought. Even if it was the case I still don't want any black fduking box in the back of my car telling people where I've been......
  7. I fitted r34 calipers on my old zed. The difference was very noticable. If I get another zed I reckon I'd make it my first mod. Its of more worth than anything else as the Zed is fast anyhow, it just suffers from awful brake fade. Despite what some people say though I don't think the stock brakes have a major problem actually stopping the car (albeit not as quickly as the brembos), they just fade bad when ragged hard. I'm sure a lot of the problem is that the average zed needs a brake fluid service and probably a caliper seal overhaul? If you search my posts I put a load of pictures up as I was doing it. Don't bother buying second hand discs and pads with them as you'll be wasting your cash. Chances are if a skyline owner is uprating there brakes its because they track the car hard so they will be well used and possibly warped.
  8. Wow, thats a lot of cash for an NA auto in this day and age! It doesn't look like its even had any money spent on anything other than bling either? Looks tidy and tasteful though. Stickers are easy to remove if you don't like them, other than that I like it. Can't see him getting anywhere near his asking price though, its a H reg as well so series 1 isn't it?
  9. Where abouts are you? I've got at least one bottle of millers 10-60 that I used to use in my Zed, maybe a couple. I'm rotary now and they don't use synthetic oil.
  10. Thats cause its the one you used when you were there last...........:-)
  11. Rubbish, he's just a grumpy old bar-steward  :smash:
  12. What they said mate ^^! Pretty risky driving it. There's a little tube that feeds coolant to the turbo, they often go. Its a right bugger to get your hands to it as its round the back of the engine. Get your ET arms on. Also its harder to get a replacement on than it is to get the old fduked one off! Good luck
  13. Maybe they should get rid of car stereos as well. I'm forever crashing and killing myself and pedestrians whilst trying to find a good radio station or find the right cd in the disc wallet? Also they should get rid of all the controls on the dashboard for heating and whatnot. There's way to many buttons to distract me in my Black Mans Willy (BMW), and the ones that are comfortable don't work any way...
  14. http://www.rotaryart.uk.com/acatalog/Royal_Purple_Oil.html A good mate of mine does this, he lives just south of London. He's extremely good and has sorted me out many times when I've been desperate for bits. Tell him Dave sent you!

Glad you got good results Si!
  16. Tis a long way from the Shire my short friend. Frodo went there some time ago....
  17. Glad it went well Dave. Fingers crossed mate.
  18. I've got an Apexi turbo timer that I'll sell if you are interested? its the really small one about the size of a fag lighter, bast one IMO as it stops your dash looking like a christmas tree with loads of stuff on it. I think I've still go the zed adapter for it as well.
  19. I think you're asking for major trouble unless you've got several thousand to sink into it after you buy it. All the electrical connectors will prob be rusty and not working which will give untracable random problems. Who knows what state the engine is after that length of time. Seals will be questionable as they are often a mare on a zed that hasn't been left standing for 4yrs.
  20. You should be able to find the ultimate Zed if you have over 10k to throw around Spongey! What other cars have you considered? I completely agree with how you're doing things: go for a car that you can afford to get the best out there, but there are quite a few types of car that you can get a really good one for 10k now. Are you looking to get a car that will track well? or just a very fast drag type car? Also lots of people are talking about big power cars being un-usable on the road, but this only means unusable in rush hour traffic or as a daily drive, not nice fast curvy A and B roads :-) . As long as you arn't using it for a daily drive to work or in the rain then it should be ok. Also it all depends how its been built I suppose. Big power generally means vicious clutches that are hard to drive slowly, or semi-slicks to deal with the power (although not sure if you get these big enough for the average zed wheel?). Hope you find what you are looking for.
  21. Havn't a clue if they will fit, but are they cheaper or something? Theres only a couple of those ones on the Rx7 (although mine has 550 primary injectors and 1680 secondary injectors ;-) ) and you'll need 6 for a Zed.
  22. Good luck tomorrow Dave! Just been reading computer weekly jobs section and they had the usual skills in demand article. They said that companies are more than willing to take on people with no or very little experience in a certain language if it can be backed up with good skills in other languages and a desire to learn. Go for mate.
  23. What that man said! makes sense??
  24. I think the GTt was kind of the equivelent of the gtst for the R34 range??
