  1. Apart from the fact that most of the bridalways have been quietly turned into either roads or paths over the years that is............
  2. HGVs! If they were back on the train system then 50% of the countrys road over-crowding problems would be sorted; and all you people who are about to moan because you drive HGVs: you could then get a job on the LOCAL railway and not have to drive across the country every day. Thats my opinion anyows!
  3. Gutted mate. Penzance is a bl**dy nightmare these days. Don't know if you know about it but the council has been given a huge amount of money to take on 'problem' families from the midlands and other areas. There's also a lot of immigrants who are housed down there now as well. We were chatting to a friend who works at the council and they were telling us about it a year or so back. The feckers come down here and think they own the joint. I got jumped by a couple of them when I went to the Barn last year. The place has become a nightmare.
  4. http://www.poikosoft.com/download.html Easy cd-da extractor is prob the best out there. It will rip to just about any format and can also convert between most formats. I think the trial runs out after a while but you can just re-install it anyway. Also you can easily find cracks for it if need be.
  5. My good lady says the bad lady on your car bonnet has knickers that are too big!
  6. Surely it must have something doing the job of a proxy if its blocking certain sites? I suppose they could be blocking access to the ip addesses on the perimeter router or firewall but there's normally a proxy involved somewhere. You wont need the two interfaces to route to each other (ie 'talk' to one another) thats only if the pc is acting as router and passing traffic through. Windows isn't all that good with this sort of thing, so I'm not sure how you'd do it. What ChrisC says is the most likely way, but I'm not sure how windows deals with having two gateways to unspecified networks ie the internet. If you could tell it that your work network is out of that interface and everything else was out of the broadband then you'd be sorted. It may work if you use (from dos/cmd): route ADD (work networks ip) (work subnet mask) (gateway ip of work interface) route ADD 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 (broadband gateway ip address) The first command specifies the network of your work, and the second command tells it to go out of the broadband interface for everything else. Only an idea though so don't take my word for it! I havn't touched windows for a year or two. If you go into cmd and type 'route print' and post up the results (routing table), or pm that and your ip addresses and I may be able to see whats happening a little clearer.
  7. Haha, looks like a shifty one to me. Best watch him :-)
  8. Think I saw that same bloke at a meet last year? not sure though as I couldn't see him for all the black tyre smoke when stopped at the lights...............:-)
  9. Damn good idea, I always thought it wouldn't be possible to fit a straight six in there. Much less hassle for the enthusiast. I wonder how much it effects the handling? I'd imagine there would be more weight in front of the front axle. One of the good points about the zed (and reasons for I think?) V6 is so it is almost mid-mounted.
  10. I think I've got some tension rods that I bought off of AndyP on here last year before I sold my Zed. Let me know if you do want them, I paid Andy £35 I think, so same to you. Have a look at the rubbers on your existing ones (underneath in front of the front wheels). If they are gungy then they are knackered. Its quite common.
  11. Hi Andy! Hope its going well. Glad you're finally getting the Zed out there :-) It must double in value out there ? Sounds like an Awesome trip. Looks like you got the most obvious spares.
  12. Ahh, one of the classics! I tried not to join in for almost 5 seconds but had to as the future outcome of Indian and Zed was so predictable that I knew it would happen. Nobody deserves to crash and lose their car but it doesn't take a genius to follow things from these early threads to poor Indians final ones when he ended up in a tree (and RIP to what looked a nice Zed).
  13. Re-conditioning is pretty easy to do mate, the kit is cheap as well. On the other hand the front shaking could be steering bushes or more likely the tension rods.
  14. Good points Karl. Part of the reason I'm working my a*se off at the moment is for lifestyle reasons. Already I only drive to work a couple of days a week and work at home the rest. Also I can do what ever times I want so I can usually avoid the rush hour. I'm hoping to eventually be able to work from home for the majority of the time and avoid the rushhours completely. There's something fundamentally wrong happening when you see the UK population at rushhour times. Something needs to be done about it. I've signed the petition sometime ago, primarily because I don't want any 'black box' in my car but a solution that helps cut down rush hour traffic is deffo needed. How many cars with room for 5 people do you see driving through rush hour with only one person in? I'm sure 50% of those people could do perfectly ok on a moped but for the 'I want to be 'I'm not driving a moped factor'. The only reason I don't have one is becuase I have too much stuff to carry when I go to work.
  15. You can work it out theoretically with mathematics (and smokes and mirrors) but its pretty involved. My car has hybrid turbos and the previous owner spent a day or two with it on the rolling road to match everything up. He did well over 100 runs on the dyno trying different turbines until it got to the present state. I'm sure you could find the graphs that show T28/T3 hybrid most efficient boost ranges? Higher boost isn't necessarily better as they have a range where they work the best. I don't know enough about it to be of much help, but I'm sure the info is out there somewhere.
  16. Terrible news, all our love and hugs to your daughter.
  17. Get out and drive a few mate. Make sure you drive the alternatives though: skylines, Rx7, etc. Both a bit more expensive to run and buy though. I suppose if you like the zed but get p*ssed with it being a nightmare to work on and having fiddly bits go wrong then the Supra makes sense. The zed is supposed to be a better car to drive, but you could get a Supra with a dirty great single turbo and be a drag queen :-)
  18. Rip Poochy! sorry to hear it mate. They become part of the family, we love our animals to bits as well.
  19. More than that for an N reg Zed, surely my crack pipe smoking friend?
  20. If you do a search mate there's a way around that at the MOT place. I think you remove the small pipe to the fuel regulator (not deffo, so check). That does seem quite high though. Are you sure everything is as it should be? I take it Jeff checked all the sensor readings with the conzult? ps - love your sig! she's very tasty!
  21. Look out for a yellow banana as per below wizzing by from east sussex once the weather gets better and the gritters go home!
  22. Wow, that looks awesome mate! Can't wait to see it in action. ps - Hi wozzer!
  23. As usual I'm not even sure I should show my face on one of your threads Mark?! Please don't break it. It really is a lovely car when its working! Its had so much put into it over the years. I'm not sure how best to think of it but for what its worth Tony spent thousands on building it, I spent thousands on it upgrading it more, you've spent a couple of thousand or whatever and eventually you'll have a great car. I know you bought it with the same mind set that I bought it with; buy a good one so you don't have to plough more money into it, and I honestly sold it to you thinking it would be like that. Comparable cars such as Supras and Skylines of similar power, upgrades and age are still more expensive so its not so much of a nightmare. At least its only small frustrating things that have gone and you've still got the makings of one of the best zeds around.
