  1. Thanks Dave :-) I used to do network admin before I came out of the Marines. I did the Microsoft MCSA to make sure I didn't have any job problems if I couldn't get into Cisco stuff. The MCSA, although a head f*ck, wasn't too bad. I did it in a couple of months. These Cisco ones need a lot more work (CCNA took me 4-6mths, CCNP 18mths so far) but the work is much more interesting for me. Its definately been worthwhile. I was lucky to get working for a company where I can get a lot of exposure to just about everything as well which will really help me in the future. I do outrageous hours because I take on anything that looks like good experience but its starting to pay back now as I'm getting good at what I do in a lot shorter period of time. I've managed to not even break anything (much!) in the process as well which is amazing considering how much rope I've been given to hang myself with on occasions :-) CCIE (Cisco Certified Internet Expert, the daddy) next :-) Those boys in the City are on 70k plus , nice.
  2. I passed my 3rd Cisco Certified Network Professional exam last week with a score of 943 out of 1000  One more to do, hopefully by July, for the full qualification. Life has been pretty much 100% work and study for the 18mths since I came out of the Marines but its going well and I should be pretty sorted when I've finished this. I'll be going straight onto the next thing, probably Cisco Certified Security, but completing the CCNP is a big step so I'm pretty chuffed its all going to plan
  3. Lol! Shooting all over the place, even from a moving car and yet they wont ram him off the road?! crazy vid mate.
  4. Semi slicks are awesome tyres, especially if you've got too much power and having problems getting it too the ground. I'm not sure I'd bother putting them on a Zed 'tyre eater' though! I didn't realise you could get them wide enough? They are incredible on my rex (I've got the other ones, not the toyos). The difference on track is amazing. They've never over heated and gone 'soggy' (sure there's a proper word for it!). You can see after a session how distorted they've got by how far up the side wall the wear is and its tiny. I wouldn't like to be in a zed in the rain in them though. I never take the rex out in rain, I did an airfield session and it was soaking wet last year. The car was literally all over the place, sideways , backwards, the lot! The heavier Zed would be dangerous.
  5. Lol! what a name! bet she didn't get teased at school!! Sexy as though..
  6. Veeerry nice! You'll be chuffed with that eh?! A mate of mine who does Rex supplies also sponsors a team that races those flat bottom hydroplane boats. Fast as feck!!
  7. OOOOOhhhhh yeah baby!
  8. Does the owner live in Guildford Road? (left turning as you go into Hayle). I'm well overdue a trip back home but probably going to be a few weeks yet.

  10. Oi ! get off my car Biatches!
  11. happy birthday Si, have a good one mate.
  12. Don't know if its been covered now but I know a couple of guys who both wrote letters saying that as they havn't been cautioned they can't use the information against (or something to that affect). They both got away with it, this was about 6mths ago. Worth going on the websites that got mentioned and checking out the latest advice.
  13. Hi Rodders, that might be a connection for an oil pressure gauge (think thats the type, whatever isn't in the pod). When I got the other ones done Chris Greddy sent me a couple of wrong gauges and he had also supplied a sandwich plate that didn't fit. I said I'd keep the wrong gauge and he was supposed to send me the correct one but it didn't happen! I was going to get the extra one fitted into the vent. The garage did what they could but could only wait for Chris to send the correct bits for a few days before I had to have the car back.

I think wozzer and some of the other boys were planning on doing another one this year?
  15. The lad Nathan Summers (one of the kidnapped) is from the same town as me. I don't know him personally but my dad plays football with his dad. My old man was saying that the town is full of news crews at the moment. The Uk has a history of a lot of political connections in the middle east that happen behind the scenes and out of the media. Hopefully one of those connections will get this lot out before too long :-(
  16. Heres a page from the website. He did a guys Rx7 FD on (now for sale £8950 if anyone is looking for one of the nicest RX7s in the country, by the way. 99 model as well http://www.fduk.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6901 high milage but stunning otherwise). http://www.miracledetail.co.uk/auto-detailing-car-new.html?carID=53 7hrs at £60 per hr  Thats love..
  17. The finish he's got from that is amazing. I'm not into pumping money into bling and all that but I'd pay money to have that guy sort my car. I've never seen paintwork look like that Astra. Why the feck anyone would want to do it to an Astra?? but still each to his own. That Astra costs four times the price of the average Zed so I suppose its warranted in some twisted 'I like Astras, I'm gay...' sort of way.

That is truly awesome. It has to be a purposeful windup surely?? Thats the sort of thing we'd do to someones car in the Marines while they were off on holiday! Either that or just surround it in sandbags until you can't even see it anymore lol :slap:
  19. Yes mate, I posted about it after. If you do a search you should find it easily. I did a couple of days with him. I did plan on going back and doing more but I just havn't had the money for it. I'd like to do it this summer once the bank looks healthier. I'd definately recommend him. Like already mentioned you have to prepare yourself for 'school boys lesson' so to speak. Its not that he's overbearing, he's just very direct and tells you straight away where you were going wrong. Lots of people who think they are already good drivers can't handle this. I knew I was cr*p at driving so went along with that attitude lol! My driving has improved so much after doing it. It makes such a difference having an ideal to work towards. I'm sure I've picked up bad habits again that he wouldn't approve of , but on the other hand I'm still improving at the techniques that I learn't with him even 6mths later. You learn so much in such a short period of time that you are knackered by the end of the day.
  20. These look like the guys that used to be with John Lyon who I did a similar thing with last year. John ,who carried on the High performance course after the british school of motoring stopped offering it due to the onset of political correctness on our roads back in 1979, parted from the group and continued on his own. From Johns website: The history of the original HIGH PERFORMANCE COURSE Originated in 1962, the original High Performance Course was born at almost the dawn of the motorway age from the need for education at the very high speeds involved. For the motorist, horizons opened up with roads designed for safe use of a motorcar at speed and sports cars that were built for it, like the Jaguar E Type and the Porsche 911. The experience behind John Lyon: The HIGH PERFORMANCE CAR DRIVING COURSE is under the personal direction of John Lyon, one of the first High Performance co-drivers taught in the early 60's by the late John Miles MBE who was previously an advanced instructor at The Metropolitan Police Motor Driving School, Hendon. John Lyon later became an instructor at Hendon himself, one of the few civilian instructors to be taught to drive safely at high speed by Mr O.V. Thomas B.E.M. John is well known for his roadcraft writing and his vast motor racing experience,in particular, his success as twice overall champion racing driver in the B.R. & S.C.C. Caterham Super Seven Championship in his road going Seven. JpThe two parties fell out and went their seperate ways. I rate John Lyon and it was well worth the money. If these guys offer anything even close to as good then they are worth while. http://www.john-lyon.co.uk/Octane09_05_06.pdf http://www.john-lyon.co.uk/octane.htm John is the one to go for if you want to do proper fast (safe) driving and become a better driver. These people you are going with look like they may be similar? IAM is more just safe driving, perhaps more fitting for the crowded roads of today but not my cup of tea. Opinion on John is quite polarised because of this. If you look on Pistonheads there are people who worship him and there are people who hate him! I think some of the more influential post whores on there are part of 'rival' groups so it goes against him. There's also a large fraternity of 'Institure of Advanced' drivers people on there who bore me silly with petty roadcraft arguments, and are very against the more 'spirited' old school performance driving instruction.
  21. Oooooooohhh mmmmmmmmmyyy, thats painful to watch. Oh dear! 'Brother can't drive...' lol!
  22. HAPPY BIRTHDAY geezers!! Have a great one.
  23. Although I like the way frount mounts look,as do most people, I don't think you are gaining anything by putting one on a zed. You are just cutting off cool air to the radiator which is arguably more important, especially on an older zed. The bigger side mounts will work for as high bhp as just about anyone has on this forum, and they will still give better air flow to the radiator. A much better investment would be to get bigger side mounts and perhaps a large race type radiator?
