  1. There is a GTt Si. 2.5l single turbo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Skyline
  2. Royal is 30% gay! Loosen up my straight mate, these days women like a man with some softer edges to grab onto.

Eh!? Definately the flux capacitor Neil, they always go in these situations.
  4. Best cheap mod: new bottle of oil :-)
  5. As said above, i can't see that it would be worth while. Nearly all enthusiasts who have modded cars that have sequential turbos tend to change to single turbos. The plumbing to make them come in at the optimum time is a nightmare. The Rx7 originally has sequentials like you describe (as does Supra, etc) and the 'rats nest' that controls it all is an utter nightmare to troubleshoot. Best off going for one of the other options. The whole point of the Zeds turbos are that they are small so there is almost no lag. If you update to more modern turbos you can still get bigger power without introducing any more lag. The tuning makes a big difference as well, get a good programmable ECU and someone who knows how to play with it.
  6. If he hasn't had it dynoed then he may as well go back to the pub and impress people with his figures there. If it was 470fwhp (which it probably isn't) then its probably 400rwhp ish. As a comparison the Yellow Banana has been dynoed on many different dynos and it has 465rwbhp and 540fwbhp(loss of 75bhp through the drivetrain) and the Banana is an Rx7 so prob looses less than a Supra (although not certain of that).
  7. You need to make some space by removing some of (most of?!)the big turbo piping, and the battery. The drivers side is actually the hard side then as all the coolant pipes and brake lines are in the way. You will definately need the two new rubber tubes (you have to get the proper ones as they change in size so can't use any normal tubing). Those nissan clips are a bugger as well so you may as well buy some new replacement clips at the same time (ones with the screws in to tighten them). Chances are if you are removing things you will find many more perished rubber tubes! replace as many as you can is good advice! There's also a coolant feed pipe on the rear of the engine that goes to the turbo that often goes (can have bad results), but its very hard to get to without removing the engine.

Glad you're on the mend mate. Thinking of you.
  9. For the price of a 350Z there's so many other great cars out there that I'd have to consider. Top notch Rx7 (two of them haha), Skyline, Honda S2000, Boxster (no matter what your opinion Porshe make the best DRIVING sports cars, according to the experts; not me)..... the list is endless when you go into that sort of money. At that price you could afford to run it as well!
  10. As said prob the fuel lines mate, also check the regulator (little black cylindrical thing attached to the fuel lines, and screwed in between the manifold pipes near the balance bar) as these can go as well and leak.
  11. My god, how do they think of these things?!
  12. John does part of his course on the MIRA proving grounds which is one of the most advanced in the world, it has a whole host of different skidpan setups. He also does bedford proving ground which has some similar things, as well as an alpine run, a circuit , and a high speed banked circuit. The skidpan bit wasn't open when I was at Bedford though.
  13. I did a couple of days with John Lyon (try a search for my post, also http://www.john-lyon.com). It was one of the most worthwhile things I've ever done with the car. It isn't cheap but it is worth it. There's a big difference between someone like John Lyons teaching, and what the modern advanced driving people do. John Lyon is very much about the 'thrill' of driving (note that I didn't mention reckless) in the evo magazine sort of style and attitude. He is extremely safe in built up areas and then teaches you how to safely drive a car fast on the open roads and at the proving grounds. John was one of the original instructors of the high performance driving course. IAM is about safe driving but I found the people involved very robotic and many didn't seem to have any connection with the enjoyment of driving. I wanted to learn to drive a fast car skillfully and safely so John appealed to me more as it emphasised enjoyment and skill. I've also done one of those airfield days with mazdarotaryclub.com. It was great value for money, and a chance to throw the car around in a safe enviroment. There isn't much tuition though due to the group aspect. I believe I benefited hugely from having advanced driving lessons with John before I went on the airfield day. The same goes for track days, before I'd had the advanced driving lessons I was really thrashing the car as I didn't know how to heel and toe to match the revs and all that sort of thing. The last few track days have been completely different as I've got so much more sympathy for the car now.

Get well soon Si, we're thinking about you mate. If it helps to know, my step mum has fairly regular strokes due to a brain illness and has always recovered well. Although her illness will never get better, she recovers completely from the strokes. She is out of action for a few days and looses movement on one side, then it gradually gets back to normal over the next few days. Dave
  15. doesn't google do some kind of thing like this? where you can put pins into the map and label them? I think it was on here for zed owners a couple of years back.
  16. B*gger! I Knew when I was typing that I'd get picked up for something! I was being really careful as well haha
  17. That silver one looks nice! havn't seen yours around!!
  18. Sure I posted that last year! :-)
  19. How about putting some phots up? maybe someone will recognise it.
  20. Fdukers! unlucky, hope you spot them again.
  21. I'm a wholemeal bread fiend! The amount of people who work in bakeries and don't know what WHOLEMEAL (not granary, not white with seeds, etc) is does my nut in.... Thought I'd get that off my chest, just in case anyone wondered
  22. P lease use a capital letter at the beginning of the sentence and a fullstop at the end.
  23. Gutted for you mate, that looked like a lovely Zed. Such a shame, but glad you are ok.
  24. It should just come out, sounds like you are getting stuck on something? are you catching the turbo on the steering linkage? I take it you have a jack under the gearbox? try jacking it a bit higher or lower. Maybe then it will budge.
