  1. Thanks mate looking forward to it
  2. Jimmy I just checked your link you are flying through that list!
  3. Hey guys Have discovered that it only happens when the gear is improperly matched to the speed of the car what I call labouring the engine. also when off the gas I get a slight whining from the back I'm guessing its my diff.
  4. Bloody hell. The numbers above are Fly numbers not rwhp by the way so I'm mile off yours. I spoke to Ryan already I'll get him to work his magic in the new year. Cheers mate
  5. Hey mate Your numbers are awesome I was looking at them earlier. Who mapped your car? Its running 400 at 0.9 bar but they mapped it up to 1.5. Cheers Bud
  6. Hey guys Bedford was 70 squids for the afternoon will be dark by four so I'm guessing thats about 17 pounds an hour. Its mapped to 1.5psi. It took about 5 - 6 hours of mapping time to map the AEM (done by SPC in Horsham) Its not made as much power as I expected 410 but to be honest I'm more interested in how it drives than hitting big numbers. I've got the Z1 600 tubs and 555's and was expecting it to be in the high 400's but the guys at the garage reckon that over 1.4psi the gains the tubs were making were not worth the higher boost. The tubs are also quite laggy and If I had experienced them before I probably would have bought something else but hey ho you live and learn. It pulls like a train though with @400ftlb of torque. I'm going to drive it for a bit to get used to it and then maybe take it to someone else to see if they can do any better. When it was originally done it was quite jerky on and off the gas although now it is smooth as silk. The chap who mapped it said that he was trying to get it to drive like a normal car unless you booted it and it is very much like that. I have had my ups and downs with SPC but they have done a cracking job so I cant say anything against them. I think they have probably been very conservative on their mapping but thats ok by me. I want a fast car for road and track that will last (finger crossed!) so happy to tune it down if it lasts longer. Not sure what kind of gixxer you have mate but I had a 750 K3 and I smiled today in the car the same way I used to whne you would get into the second half of the revs on the gixxer and it would just take off and try to rip your head off. The car is nothing like as quick but is a lot of fun.
  7. Good one mate glad its sorted
  8. Always been good for me.
  9. Hey all Had my first opportunity to stretch the legs on the beast and its absolutely awesome. Its been a long time since I have had a grin quite so big behind the wheel of a car. The mapping has dome wonders. Its is smooth as silk both in the power and on the road although the suspension could be a little softer. I'm hoping it will compensate for it on the track. Booked half a day at Bedford on Saturday the 29th if anyone else is interested. Its a novice day but thats just fine, I just wanted the opportunity to be able to throw it around and open it up a bit to see how it handles and goes.
  10. Not sure they still do the speed workshop. If you get done by a policeman you may get this option but I think if you go to court the magistrates only have the option to endorse. Although I'd be happy to be corrected.
  11. Hey mate I took the car to halfrauds and they stuck in the biggest one that would fit and its been in sincve june and stood since august and it work fine.
  12. Cheers guys I'll have to check but its intermittant and I think its after you have changed. Jimmy I'll get back to you if I'm lucky I can save on the postage by picking it up.
  13. Sorry just realised its in the wrong section.... can a mod move it for me please? Cheers
  14. Hey all As you all knwo I got my car back last weekend. The first thing I have noticed apart from it being awesomely quick is a noise that sounds like something rubbing against the flywheel. I've got an RPS clutch and flywheel. Is it likely that the clucth is maybe not disengaging properly? It sounds like something brushing against something or could even be air moving? Any ideas? Its fookin annoying and I'm really keen not to give it back to the theiving gits that have had it for so long but will do if they have stuffed up although it was doing the same before the gearbox was swapped so can't really blame them. Or is the RPS supposed to slip and thats what I'm hearing? Its not a squeeling its like the flywheel is brushing against something.
  15. I have owned my zed for a year and a half and have ahd no new points. Although Ive only done about 1500 miles in it in that time so happy to try harder now that its back!
  16. Yep was not a happy boy! Getting there now though... Dont worry mate it will be running dandy in no time.
  17. Hey mate your doing well three weeks after I bought mine the engine lunched!
  18. Very very nice car mate!
  19. Cheers bud I'm in Dorking 1/4 of the way to Brighton. I'll PM you my mob.
  20. Jimmy I'm, gonna have to get you to test drive mine and you can tell me if its the diff or not.
  21. What happened?? I need to know!!! Mines done the same thing since I got it.
  22. Agreed stick it in the garage its crappy outside anyway
  23. Hi Andy The key is to remember that these cars are getting quite old now and its pretty hard to find one that has been well looked or has not been thrashed. Bits go with age, the engines are quite complex and its pretty hard to find a zed specialist within 100 miles of London. Aftermarket parts are plentiful but expensive. I love mine to pieces and my wife is very understanding.
