  1. Thanks LG I'll have a go with some spray and see how it goes. I'll try Mike as well
  2. Hey all has anyone had their front seat belts replaced? My passenger side one is getting a bit saggy so I'm keen to fix it. Mine is a series one car with the belts in the door. Anyone know where I can get some replacements? I'm keen on getting new ones if I can rather than second hand ones. Cheers
  3. Yep defo old mans car. Although I'm getting closer!
  4. Found this on the web might have to work through and see what I find. Might be useful to others. Cheers http://www.tomorrowstechnician.com/Article/610/pulling_you_in_to_brake_diagnostics.aspx
  5. I'll get them checked over matey. All the bushes and suspension items are about 1k from new, all new bearings as well.
  6. XK suffers from nikasil bore failure so engines tend to die around the 100k mark which is why the prices are low. Find one that has been replaced or repaired and you are quids in. My friend has an XKr convertible and just going to the shops makes you feel like a filmstar. Lovely cars IMHO
  7. CM I'm pretty sure the brakes are bled properly, I'll get them checked Stella what do you mean by the rad bracket was goosed?
  8. Love them, one of the loveliest car shapes made in the last 10 years I think. Not raw enough for me though, bit too much of a cruiser. Would be a nice car if you also had a zed or a westy in the garage otherwise I would get bored pretty quick I think.
  9. Hey guys and girls I have noticed that when I brake the car will pull to the left momenatrily. When I take my foot off it will pull to the right momentarily. I thought it might be related to road camber but it seems to be consistent what ever the surface. All rose jointed suspension units, K sport coilover with 8's and 6's, 8pots at the front with 350mm disks. Cheers all
  10. Hi mate if its an auto or an auto conversion the pinging is to let fat americans know that they have stopped or are in reverse. Just unplug the pinger and bob is your aunties brother.
  11. Hi mate yes mine did lost of squeeking along where the a pillar touches the dash. Alos the plastic bit at the side with the vent in it did the same. these things always get worse in the cold. I only have one left and it does my head in. Its a high pitch squeek its movement related an comes from the passenger front cant figure out if its the bonnet moving as i go over things or something in the suspension????
  12. Yep always been great to me also
  13. Hi mate I've spent my life recently chasing squeeks. Ive found that cables can rub and cause creaks etc. It may just be that as the temp has dropped that the squeeks get worse. Does it get better once the car has warmed up? I would get some dry lube and spray down and contact points on the dash and if you can be bothered take the panels off under the dash have a go at anything that looks like its touching anything else. Cheers mate HTH
  14. Is it bumper off to get the headlamps out?
  15. I bought it with 30k and it blew at about 50k I think it was already knackered when I got it as the replacement engine felt very different. Ace little car mate every roundabout was a playground. Alot of my mates still have them. You wont get the acceleration you get on the zed but what you do get is a car that is as precise as a ballet dancer when it comes to handling.
  16. Hey mate I owned one for about 3 years and it was awesome. Fab car goes like stink and is like a go cart. Small nimble and just a laugh. Not as quick in a straight line as a modded zed but around twistys it awesome also very modern and if you dont drive like me the engine is virtually unburstable. (I blew mine up sadly) Loved every minute of the S it was a really really nice car. They are a bit odd when you first drive them as they dont seem that quick as you need to get them upto 6k before they go but keep the revs hi and they fly. two trips to lemans and many many track days in mine and I cant say enough good things about it. I made the mistake of selling mine for a 911 996 and missed it every day, but wanted back seats for the little person. The Zed is perfcet now has back seats and like the S is a bit mad.... Ideal :-)
  17. I love mine but am worried people could get the wrong impression! B12EDX supposed to be bye as in see ya not bi as in sexual :-)
  18. So when you say cleaning the inside are we talking a long cotton bud and some acetone? or lamps out and something more serious?
  19. These are the ones http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=27185&highlight=jonno
  20. Not sure I got them off Jonno who bought them on a group buy on here, they are made by Hella and were a pretty standard kit as far as I could see.
  21. Maybe I need to have a look at my lights then as they dont really seem to make much of an impact on the road. Thanks Si
  22. Hi mate I was recomended the CTEK Multi XS 7000 (12V) Car Battery Charger. so I have one :-)
  23. Hey all Its a well known fact that the lights are shi7e so I had my dipped beams changed for some HIDS. Although they are better its still poor. So my question is do you generally drive with you high beams on, or dipped at night? Do you get many people flashing you? I figured the cars are so low that even high beam would just appear as bright lights compared to modern headlights. Cheers all Ron
  24. hello mate i got mine from the zcentre works a treat
