Turbo timer install
Personally I just make sure I drive easy for a little bit before parking up. That'll be plenty sufficient to cool the turbos.

300ZX Custom Cup Holders for sale
Bit of an update, I have now just gone live with the storefront and will PM the address to those I am speaking with, for those of you who were asking for pricing options, this should cover most of them. Custom options outside of those on the storefront are of course still available, just send me a message to discuss those. Before anyone from the forum goes ahead and orders, please let me know via message first, I will generate a unique promo code for you to use at checkout to get the 10% forum member discount. And for those looking for an update on the smoothed top finish, please see the images below. Note, I am describing this as a brushed smooth finish, not a mirror finish. There is a vertical brushed look to the top. As you will know from other smooth plastics, this option is going to more readily show surface scratches over time that the textured finish would hide. Please keep this in mind when making your selection.

Turbo timer install
Might be harder to find now but when I was looking, HKS Type 1 seemed the best. You can feed it your tachometer signal and it can auto determine how long to leave it idling based on your driving prior to turning it off. Beware the many fakes of these. They also do a Type 0 which acts like all the other basic turbo timers. Many will argue the need for one but that's ultimately up to you! The only reason I never added one was due to me fitting a secret kill switch for security which took priority over the gadget.

300ZX Custom Cup Holders for sale
Not a problem I appreciate the interest, take your time. I'm planning to premake some different cup options for people to see. Likely, 300ZX logo in a colour option and the 90's Nismo logo too. I can also do custom text or logos in the cup or incorporating boost controllers and the like where the USBs are. Basically - happy to discuss any idea people have.

300ZX Custom Cup Holders for sale
Unfortunately not. There are methods used in dash repair where people apply high build primers and then imprint a patch of leather into it but that is not something I will be offering, nor have I tried it personally. The results are hit and miss so not something I'd want to offer to a paying customer but nothing to stop someone trying that themselves. 3D printing itself won't allow for a good looking recreation of the imprint. I will be offering a smooth top version though. Will be updating the post with pictures of that shortly. Regarding the headlight washer - that kind of shape would actually be quite difficult to exactly replicate and would require alot of time 3D modelling, prototyping and comparing to get an exact match. There are alot of varying radius curves there, etc. If something which effectively looks the same will do, and someone is replacing both at the same time so they match, that's a bit more straight forward. Hand finishing would also then be required for the smooth exterior surface.

300ZX Custom Cup Holders for sale
Thanks Raja. Look forward to chatting with you about what you'd like. Later plans are to make some other more reproduction bits and bobs for our cars along with any custom requests. I have my eye on rear end caps for the window moldings. I recently picked up a Kuruma set and noticed they don't seem to come with a rear end cap and I don't think the standard end cap is removable/swappable. I confess I haven't removed my standard ones from the car yet though for a good look. Too many other jobs up front to handle before that!

Strosek value help.....
If it's for insurance purposes, I believe someone on the forum was providing official insurance valuations at some point. Someone else who knows more can chime in on that.

Premium Membership Features
Not really an issue here, just a suggestion looking at premium membership given some recent confusion on my part about not being able to post pictures. I am not really so clear on what comes with premium membership and I think making it more clear through just using the site would help drive those memberships for you a bit. I'm sure it's all listed somewhere on a page but you'd have to seek that out. For example, instead of there just not being a button for picture upload as if it's not possible, how about we all see one but clicking it as a standard member gives a message about needing premium? I believe (but not sure to be honest) PMs also don't really explain this. Likewise, I think the tech articles are just invisible to standard members, rather than being able to see them but not view the threads? Again could be wrong on that. I think the tech articles in particular are a bit of a hook for the site, I think it would be better to be able to see the topics. (My personal opinion is to leave them open to standard members too just to add to reasons to stick around and use the forum but I know the club recently decided not to). I'm sure there are some other features of premium that I'm missing, but I think the gist of what I'm saying is clear. Let the site naturally show you what you're missing. Some of the above may not be possible without major work though, I get that... Also conscious of the fact that there's been a lot of (appreciated) good change here recently done by the sole site admin and this would be even more volunteer work for them! Just wanted to make the suggestion anyway though.

300ZX Custom Cup Holders for sale
Yes I have seen theirs since looking to make my own. Just a word on that - I won't do transparent options with light up parts they do as that doesn't exist in ASA material. They will be printing in PETG or ABS, which has the issues I mentioned in the first post. To be honest I don't have a price list as yet, could you DM me and we can talk about what you'd like? 🙂 As an aside, do you happen to know what they charge? I'm sure I remember hearing figures all over $100 before for their basic on but maybe I'm misremembering.

300ZX Custom Cup Holders for sale
I have recently been working on a design for cupholders for our cars and am ready to start selling these now through Etsy/Instagram/Facebook but was thinking about perhaps giving a discount to members here. Custom designs will be welcomed, but would attract extra fees, depending on your specification. As these things go, I have ended up taking an early order from someone before making my own (which I intended to mount my Racelogic into, in place of USB feeds). This person asked for the Z logo in white inside the cup. This example also includes USB A & C charging and a USB 3.0 passthrough, which will provide a nice outlet for any aftermarket headunits with their own USB feed for Android Auto/Apple Car Play/etc. The part is 3D printed using ASA material, for those who don't know, this material has a very high softening temperature and excellent UV resistance. I have seen other cupholders for other cars and one recently for our own that are created in PETG. This material will deform on a hot day in the sun, especially in the green house T-Tops. The other listing I saw even recommended you take it out of the car each time you leave it outside?! Other materials, like ABS, have high temperature thresholds but poor UV resistance and will fade, yellow and become brittle. ASA is difficult to perfect and requires a heat chamber and a very dialled in setup, not to mention a greatly increased material cost. I am the only person producing these in ASA and with the nice fitment you see here. Fitment is excellent, as this was originally designed for my own car and it screws in using the factory mounting holes and screws which hold the ashtray piece in place (another I saw just sits in the console hole with no mounting). Naturally, 3D prints have a texture to their finish. I personally find it fits in better with this left in place but ASA takes very well to sanding if you wanted to smooth the surface and paint, etc. You will also find the surface feels much smoother as-is in when in the hand than the pictures may suggest. The base price for now (might change later) will be £60 + shipping but I would provide a 10% discount to forum members. This price would include USB C & A Charger and a basic cup but no logo, text, design, etc. The pictures above are just an example. As mentioned, custom requests are welcome. ......Also, would appreciate a follow on whatever your social media flavour is! You can find those here: autotun3D (@autotun3d) • Instagram photos and videos Autotun3D | Facebook Let me know if you are interested in a cup holder of your own here!

That's great. Loved the clean-up and that domain name is great. International mods is great idea. Getting people onboard with this place being a nicer site all-round to use than the likes of twin-turbo.net.

Unorthodox Power Steering Pulley
There should be no play in the pump shaft no. As for the pulley, the Z1 option has raised shoulders.

ECU
You might find Specialty Z more accommodating. They have upto 1300 selectable from a drop down so contacting them, they might do higher. There far more well known for tunes than Z1. They can take forever to reply to emails though might be worth an international call! https://www.specialtyz.com/sz-ecu-chips.html.html

300ZX TT - A18GCK
Interesting. Sounds like a bit of a half job then sadly for you. 580 is a very nice figure though. Regarding the ABS sensors, he's kind of right but I don't see how his solution of a second set of sensors helps at all unless they're an active type. You said OEM though, so I assume new standard items? The interference is coming from throughout the car. The Nissan wires are shielded already. I covered this in my build thread and made a janky filtering box which is fitted in-line with my ABS sensors. It doesn't completely remove all interference but it helps a huge amount. Mine works really well. You have to set it to be inactive under a certain low speed though, these types of sensor are just too unreliable when the speed is low/signal is weak.

Horsham have caught my eye before. Will be interested to see what you think of whoever you end up with. Out of interest, what do you feel is incomplete with your tune at the moment?

300ZX TT - A18GCK
Nice work on the lights and the engine cover. Weird to see them crack like that though - almost like they might have been installed poorly and the heat finished them off? Maybe overtightened on the front corner lights and someone pulling at the rear lights to remove them at some point? I created a bit of that crazing on my original taillights when removing them to swap in the JSpec ones. The sticky black gunk they use/provide is tough. As an aside - neither of you are painting a great picture of the tuner. I thought they came very highly rated?

eBay, etc Finds
Thought it would be handy to have a thread people can pop their parts finds into, if they might be of interest to others. I will kick things off.. If anyone is looking for a great traction control system for our cars, I came across this Racelogic listing (not mine) at a reasonable price: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266108663444?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=rM6Po6nfRJa&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=oOSkvvj_RDu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY The potentially damaged wheel speed sensor may not matter if you convert it to run off the existing ABS sensors, as most have them setup on the Z32. You'll have to email Racelogic to change it though. I love mine, especially with launch control.

Great to see a cleanup implemented so quickly - looks much cleaner. On the income side, again a bigger reach will surely help. From a users perspective, I have let my premium membership lapse as the community is not active enough for me to warrant it. I understand others will not mind that so much. When you say national style, do you mean like .co.uk but for other countries? Would it not be simpler to consider a .com/.net/.something switch? I believe having mirrors severely impacts Google rankings also last time I checked. A switch to .com with a redirect on the old 300zx.co.uk address I think would help the forum plenty. I understand moving things behind the paywall but if the team here did decide to try switching to a .com and branding as a global members club, might be an idea to open those things up initially as that is what many are looking for from a forum initially. You could then look to make a decision on whether to move it at a later date? I'd say technical articles are how people will land in the forum in the first place. If these pages are no longer indexed by google or locked behind a paywall, you might be having a negative effect on your subscribers long term. All of this is just my opinion of course.

Become a global forum?
Agree with all of those points to be honest, just with the addition/keeping a section for the build journals. Focusing the forum on fewer more relevant areas is nicer for the current users and far more attractive to people popping in for a peek. Of course owner numbers will continue to slide but I would imagine we are near the bottom. Regardless, a global forum with wider reach (dying numbers or not) can only really mean more potential members for this forum, which is what I was interested in. A more active, interesting place worth a visit. Besides, I'd say active communities drive up prices if anything. I am not in the know as to what the structure is with regards to who runs the forum, but would be interesting to hear a comment from them?

Become a global forum?
I admit - I am not a big contributor here myself but I have noticed the activity dip a lot recently, and I am a relatively new owner compared to most who post here. I know forums are a bit old hat these days but I maintain they are the best place for a car community. I can't help but wonder whether the forum might have more activity if it moved over to some form of .com or other global domain (I do realise 300zx.com is already owned) and started calling itself a global owners club? Twinturbo.net is horrible to look at, let alone use, no way they are getting many new 300ZX owners in the US. Thoughts?

Boot Hatch Underside Moldings
All trims are cosmetic, the boot seal keeps the water out. The gap I assume is for lifting the tailgate up.
