Speed signal input to ECU
If you are talking about feeding the speed signal directly to the ECU - I don't think that will work. The clocks convert the analogue signal from the speed sensor into a digital signal which the ECU can read. Bypassing your clocks will not work. Regardless - you can find the pin for the speed signal on the ECU here: Z32 Color Coded ECU Pinout.

You won't find OEM replacements anymore. A number of places do OEM fibreglass replicas - Ionic Dynamics being one. If you want something with a different look, plenty of options available. Check Z1 Motorsports or Concept Z Performance.

Cool thanks for the info - I too am running the old style SZ flywheel/clutch combo so was wondering for my own sake really 🙂

300ZX TT - A18GCK
That's interesting - what was the state of the flywheel when you took it off? If I remember rightly you had the old Specialty Z fly wheel with the segments and those segments already prematurely failed before - what was the state of the flywheel after you had it removed this time? (Sorry to hear about the shit luck - it happens! Nothing too major at least)

Dirty Fuel?
As above, pop the hanger off the tank and look/take pictures inside. If its clean there then it's something in line, maybe rotting rubber line or something, but I doubt that would manage to turn the fuel black alone.

Still running an SZ EPROM, albeit changed for the 740cc injectors etc. Boost pegged to make 480hp currently, as engine is not built. Would like to go Nistune purely for a custom tune, it needs leaning out. Link would be ideal but too expensive for me at the moment. But I have also considered by the time I have got a Nistune + Selin/equivalent + extra MAF, I am butting up against the cost of a Link anyway.

Keep us posted - would like to go Nistune at some point too.

I ran an SZ chip when I had a near standard setup like yours and made 330hp initially, finding and fixing a boost leak at higher boost levels, like I mentioned before, it went to 360hp on the same tune. All of them run pretty damn rich though, just the nature of using a safe general chip tune vs a custom map. That being said, those Noz maps are apparently terrible so might be worth switching regardless, if only for safety reasons and not power. Is that old graph showing the same flatline you are concerned about up top? It looks basically like it should to me. On standard setup mine had the same plateau upper mid range and then started to peak again beyond 6k - which is why I said it was a shame your latest graph doesn't show beyond 6k on the high boost run. That flat line in the middle does not look too unusual to me when compared to my old graphs. If you are expecting a linear curve - you won't get one. I'd say swap the chip for safety, if it happens to net you more power, lovely, if not - just enjoy the car and double check the mechanicals dependent on how much effort you're willing to put in I suppose.

Shame we can't see the drop off up top as they pulled out of it around 6k RPM. Did they give you a corresponding AFR trace? Just wondering if you have a boost leak that is only happening at higher boost levels. If it starts leaking boost you will see the AFR go richer at that point.

What power mods do you have that make you expect much more? When you say plenty of boost left, if those are stock turbos 16psi is the useful limit of those really. While you can make them boost past that, you won't find much power. Similar with the stock injectors, they start maxing out around those boost levels. In near stock form, it does run out of pull at the top end. Looking back at my old dyno graphs and its pretty flat at the top end, like you describe. Your peak power is a little low but that could be any number of things that are not optimal.- Project Black Sunshine - The 300bhp NA

What a tidy Z- Subframe/suspension components bushings.
Energy Suspension is by far the most common option but I'd imagine that's just due to the US leading the way. Ride will depend completely on shore rating. I don't know if Energy publish their shore rating but Powerflex seem to have different grades. See here: Powerflex - Performance Polyurethane Bushes- First look at new Z1 selin/dual maf translator
Delayed as they are waiting on harnesses, enclosures and brackets. Mid to late Q2 this year I was told (back in Feb). Meanwhile someone has developed one which is being well reviewed over on the american forums. Looking for a good set of front fender liners (both sides), the ones which cover the front part of the arch and under the intercoolers and also the small lower fan shroud piece, if you have those, could I have a price?- cas fault?
Do you see the same codes seen here? If not, I'd personally start with more basic troubleshooting. Check spark, fuel and air delivery.- ADAMZX's OEM+ 2000spec Version R Replica Conversion & Rebuild Project Build Thread
Interesting updates as always. Lesson learned on using stripper on rubber! Never a good idea, even for a short while. I realise you are going for an OEM parts build but I would just run some oil grade hosing cut to size for those parts. Any OEM hoses you find are going to be ancient anyway. As for the UK engine cooler as a trans cooler - will you be retaining your OE cooler for the engine then? Personally, you'd be better off using the UK one for its intended purpose as an engine cooler and reworking your original smaller engine cooler for the trans. Not sure how both would mount up though as you are looking to the the UK mounting plate but I am sure you could figure out something.- HKS Air Filter fitment on UK Spec
Ah, that's great. Thank you!!- HKS Air Filter fitment on UK Spec
I have the usual JWT Pop filter on my Z but due to the chassis brace at the very front of the car (that I think is UK spec specific?) I have to crush the filter, both against the brace and also on the top when I install the nose panel. This ends up messing up the filter over time and makes refitting the nose panel a real pain. I know the HKS super power flow is shorter but I wondered if anyone knows if this fits better with the UK spec front brace still in place?- ADAMZX's OEM+ 2000spec Version R Replica Conversion & Rebuild Project Build Thread
