aftermarket guages
Hi Wez To fit the oil sender you need to remove a plug just next to the oil filter down on the bottom of the engine. Sorry no pics - but it's pretty easy to locate. It's a PITA to get to properly with a spanner but perseverence and a spare set of knuckle skins will sort it. Good luck. Mark

Also Gauging interest on my DV's

Handling questions.....
Guys (and girls) I'm planning to take my car track-day'ing a lot in the future and as such it is being fitted with a full polyeurathane bush kit, adjustable anti-roll bars and fully adjustable shocks all round. I'm hoping this will pretty much tranform the handling- especially on a track - but wonder if I should get rid of the HICAS. The thing is - if it was a bad idea then Nissan wouldn't have put it on would they ? Isn't it's whole purpose to tighten up the turn in etc ? And is a strut brace (front and rear ?) going to make much difference or is it more about under-bonnet dress-up ? Thoughts as always appreciated...... Mark

whos had there zed for the longest
I worked for a bank and repo'd one in 1990 off a guy in Watford. It had about 1,100 miles on it and I drove it around for about 6 months - totally smitten but couldn't afford my own till '98. Same one ever since and I'll probably be buried in it :D Actually I saw that original car for sale a couple of years ago and thought.."oooh if only they knew !!"

Brake upgrades
I was wondering if it's possible to fit brakes from other performance vehicles - such as Porsche, BMW etc ? Would it involve much work ? Mark

Whipped an M3! lol
Until recently (a whole other story) I was the proud (!) owner of both my beloved Z and an M3. IMHO the M was a pretty good car. Great handling, fast and very sure footed. The engine was pretty good too, great sound and apparently bullet-proof. They can't be that bad - after all they dominate Touring Car racing virtually the world over (BMW that is). MB

Richards ZED - ITS FINISHED !!!
What colour is that bodywork ? :D :D :D
-
Whoa! Check this Viper out!
I saw one of these in a dealership in LA a couple of years ago. It was just amazing. Full carbon bodywork and about 700hp on that one....... Useless over here though. I'd rather have the Miurcelago upgrade at $70k

Wearing a Seatbelt...
I haven't opened the attachement but I never wear a seat belt. I was in a bad crash on the N340 'death road' in Spain a few years ago and survived only because I wasn't strapped in - which was unusual for me. Ever since I suffer from a sense of claustrophobia if have to wear one.....so I don't wear one. Mark

Strut Brace

WSB - ditto BSB - ditto All proper racing - which brings me nicely to some non-racing activity.......Formula ! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

On Ebay( Convertable Z)
I remember seeing a pic of an NSX that had been attacked with a hacksaw - professionally of course - and it looked fantastic and I always thought the Z would look soooo good. I suppose now someone will tell me that the NSX was available as a convertable in Japan

On Ebay( Convertable Z)
Looks very nice. Has anyone ever heard of anyone removing the roll-over hoop ? Is it even possible or would the car just fold up ?

New parts arrived......
Mark Definitely interested - more than interested !! Just let me know where and when........ No worries - the shocks were £700 - off Yahoo auction site in Japan. I think the set up new in Japan was about £1500 so not a bad deal. There is just so much stuff on their that you could really spend some serious wedge !! I think this is perhaps the first time I'm pleased I work for a Japanese firm and know a few guys over there :) Thanks and I'll wait to hear from you...... Mark PS mobile is 07770 427416. Voicemail if it's switched off or text me. Or pm me of course.

New parts arrived......
Also...... The shocks are coming from Japan. They are 'Buddy Club' racing spec but fully adjustable so hopeully won't be too harsh on the C roads that our council considers acceptable. Once they are on you are very welcome to try it out. Mark

New parts arrived......
Hi Mark The bars came from Demon Tweeks. They do the whole range of Whiteline including all the castor/camber stuff. Took a while to get here from Australia though. Not sure about the strut bars. I want one too as then my whole suspension will be sorted - within reason anyway. I'll probably go for the same parts as you in time. Unfortunately I need to buy some better brakes - was going to get an AP set up but that's £1700 so I'm still looking around. I like the look of the Z1 Motorsports kit or the SpecialtyZ kit. And then I think I'll need to address the whole engine/turbos/ic's/intake/flywheel/clutch issue. All of this is working towards the next track day - totally hooked !! Mark

New parts arrived......
I'm still waiting for the new suspension and I've already got the Energy Suspension bush kit so I think it'll be an all-in-one job. I'm not sure I'll do it to be honest. Knowing my luck and technical proficiency I'll f*ck the lot and end up chucking it all away !! So it'll probably be going to the guy that fitted my brakes/propshaft etc to do.

New parts arrived......
My missus just called to say that my Whiteline uprated/adjustable anti-roll bars have arrived :hyper: Should I order some new knuckles now ? Anyone fitted anything like this ? Mark

Most embarrassing motoring moment?
My first car at the tender age of 17 was an ex-police 3.5 Rover (the old 2000 shape). Cost me £100 which may give you some idea of it's condition - rust holes so big they were like external storage bins :) Anyway I just got it and wanted to see how fast it would go but the exhaust was blowing. Not waiting to get a new one I simply tied a rag around it and blasted off down the A3. Managed about 110 if I remember and when I stopped the friggin thing was on fire !!! Then in the same car I had an almighty smash taking two others with me - one of which was a Vauxhall Viva so that's ok - the highlight of which was having to slap my girlfriend to get her to let go of the dash as the car was smoking - again - and I thought it would burst into flames !! Actually thinking about it I reckon these are more 'moments of shame' Mark
