Lakeside meet this Sunday - who's going?
There are some great photos there ! I love the one looking over mine and Andrew's to the Z's parked at an angle - it just shows how varied and different these cars are becoming through TLC by each respective owner. Long may they continue to bring a smile to our faces ! Mark

Window Film Removal.
Well I wouldn't have thought a petrol soaked rag in one hand and a fag in the other would be a good combo - but I might be wrong :)

Window Film Removal.
I know it sounds a bit dangerous but wouldn't petrol be a good solvent for the glue ? Obviously NO SMOKING while working would have to be a golden rule ! Mark

Thankyou - the blue one was mine :) Sometimes I think it's a bit too bright but when the sun is out it's a lovely colour. Mark

Major help needed please!!
I could very well be mistaken but......... IIRC in an old pub trivia quiz it came out that a banana contained the same amount of poison (irritant maybe) as 1000 bee stings. I can't remember exactly why it doesn't have the same effect......... Mark

First engine bay bling - kind of......
Mac300zx - I am intending to take my car to track days this summer and I want to car a stiff - chassis wise - as possible and strut braces will go some way to achieving this. Tommyg109 - I'm sure they are fine. Here's mine on a UK Ebay listing..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=40192&item=7951951567&rd=1 What the sellers don't tell you is you need to replace the fixed/rigid fuel lines and vacuum line over the plenum, so you also need some of each of those. Shock absorber specialist
Neither Chris. The coilovers I have fitted are very firm and I want to make sure it's not possible to make them any more compliant before I swap them out for something else. It might be that I need different springs or maybe the shocks themselves can be played with to make the ride better. They would be perfect for a track as they are - and indeed that was what I got them for - but the local council here must all drive Range Rovers, X5's or Land Cruisers as anything less would be destroyed after a while by the truly appalling roads where I live. Guys Can anyone recommend a specialist in the London/Surrey area or nearby ? Thanks Mark

First engine bay bling - kind of......
The strut brace came from the US - there's no name on it I'm afraid but it cost me $135 which I thought was a pretty good price. It is VERY VERY close to the plenum (see pic - I reckon about 0.25 mm) but seems to clear the bonnet ok. I haven't driven it yet to see if it feels any different..........

First engine bay bling - kind of......
I managed to fit my front strut brace today. I think it looks great but it was a b*tch to fit the new fuel hoses. And after I'd cut the first hose off the car I noticed that I'd need a vacuum hose too DOH !!! :headvswal Mark

Just done my first mod

Jacking up
Thanks for that guys. Much appreciated as always. Mark

Jacking up
There's a notch in the sill that fits into the jack IIRC so you lift the car at the right point. Further to that, how can I get the car up on to axle stands ? I bought a trolley jack but it won't fit under the front and I'm not sure where to lift it at the back of the car...... Any ideas ? Cheers Mark

Replacement shocks suggestions......
I must admit I'm the same though :) Always keeping an eye on what might come up ! Paul did you get yours from the States ? I found a place over there KYB's $285 and Eibach's $200 - sound about right ?

Best Brake Disc Upgrades
Original spec kit off the Slyline R33 and R34's. You can pick them up quite easily off some of the Skyline specialists. I paid £650 for mine and they are brilliant.

Replacement shocks suggestions......
Hi Guys I'm going to replace the current coilovers on my Z. They are Buddy Club racing spec - fully adjustable. I got them to go track-daying but it's looking less likely these days. So....... Can anyone make suggestions for some good road spec alternatives ? Other than factory spec ? The roads around here a terrible so I want something that will absorb the imperfections of the highway but still improve body control etc. Thoughts ? Cheers Mark

Local govt set to raise more cash
My car's a 'cut-n-shut' :D :D I know what you mean - unfortunately the ground drops away to my house (can't really tell in the pics) so I couldn't open the drive the other way. I got the letter from the council saying they would be doing the crossover - another rip-off price of £700 !!! For three sq yds of concrete FFS !! Ooh I nearly went off on another one there :headvswal
